So Kingsley's part is that of someone tied to nanobot technology according to the rumors. I have an itchy feeling that if it's true then this could be a huge opportunity for an Ant-Man cameo. That would be interesting.

Highly unlikely but who knows?

I don't quite follow (though I don't know much about Ant-man). How is this an opportunity?
I don't think they'd necessarily rush to put more heroes in IM3 than they have to. IM2 gets a lot of flak from some saying it's just an Avengers advert for much of it. I expect they might want to keep some SHIELD presence like Fury, Widow or Coulson (I'd be really surprised if his character wasn't there), but I'd be surprised if they went and introduced Ant-man in an IM3 cameo.

Especially considering there is an Ant-Man movie in the works.

Was.
It's in development hell indefinitely.
But, I doubt it will be the character, considering the excision of a mention of him in Thor.
Besides, Kingsley's the villain. If they made Antman a villain, I would be infuriated.

Is.
Patience is a virtue.
Just wait until the 3rd Cornetto movie is done. Wright will make Ant-Man then.

Didn't Feige recently say it was as closer than it ever was to being made?

The only version of Ant-Man that should be in an Iron Man movie is Scott Lang. He is an actual supporting character from that comic. He doesn't have to have become Ant-Man in the movie though. We could just have Scott Lang making a cameo or even having a role.

I predict that ANT-MAN will be the second 2014 film Marvel releases.

Yeah, Lang could make a cameo appearance as a consultant on nanotechnology, since he obviously knows one thing or two about it.

I doubt Ant Man is gonna be in this movie. I just don't see it happening.

I highly doubt Ant-Man would have more than a brief cameo, but yeah, actually, there's some nice logic behind that move. Pym Particles will likely be related to nanotech, so Pym could have a brief walk-on as an expert consultant to some plot point. And Wright's Ant-Man is moving forward VERY rapidly --- Feige has already said that there's going to be news on that front within a few months.
Plus, just to add fuel to a related fire, RDJ *did* have that humorous promo for Fillion's Castle series, so....you know....cross-promo is always fun. ;)

I don't think we'll see anything like Ant-Man.
Feige said that Tony is stuck with no one, no Avengers to come and help him. He's got to get himself out of this.

Antman no. but a pun cameo would be cool.
Still waiting for a red carpet event where pepper or Tony tells the paps that they're wearing a van dyne original

I doubt we'll see Ant-Man in this movie, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they used the nanotechnology storyline to introduce Janet Van Dyne, then tie her into the Ant-Man film. In fact, I bet that's the role Rebecca Hall is up for.

I think if they're going to have Hank and Jan in the movies, they won't do a solo. He's a mind blowingly amazing comic book character but they just wouldn't work in a solo movie.

well technically it's always been confirmed. But marvel did just send Wright a nice little teaser art for him and us. And Fiege has said it's closer than ever. Not to mention all new hero movies were on hold till after the avengers...

they do... Edgar Wright. He's been attached for about 6 years now.

They can allude to him with a shout out like "Henry Pym made this technology that we founded this on" or something to that effect but not an actual appearance that would be unnecessary.

"this take" is what it is. Fiege has stated he has no plans or interest to reboot the MCU. Only build upon it. He's also stated that this means recasting when an actor leaves, but keeping the legacy and established history intact.

This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :hrt::hrt::hrt:
"Reboot" is a four-letter word. I pray to Crom that word is *never* used in the MCU.
