Spider-Man vs. Superman....this was actually a comic once.

As always, compare stats.

Spider-Man can lift 10 tons, move at about 90-100 mph and has inhuman agility, stamina, and durability, as well as his "spider-sense" that warns of danger and web-shooters.

Superman's strength has never really been calculated but it's at least in the 100 ton class, perhaps even greater, as a recent "Secret Files/Who's Who" type DC deal put Superman's strength LIMIT at about 4,000 tons, which is rather ridiculous but on the other hand staggering. Although he has pushed the moon once. Superman can also fly and move at almost the speed of light, second only to the Flash in raw speed. He's invulnerable to pretty much anything aside for Kryptonite or Magic. He has freezing breath that can knock aside tornadoes as well as heat-vision which can burn almost anything in time.

I believe a good visual aid can be found in the pages of "Superman vs. Spider-Man" ; soon as Spider-Man has ceased to radiate with "red sun radiation" curtesy of Lex Luthor (this was the 70's so he was in his purple and green spandex), Spider-Man hammers Superman's chest and then collapses as his hands are almost broken; Superman pretty much asking, "You done?" or words to that effect.

This is a no contest win, Superman can move faster than an eyeblink, and is invulnerble; Spider-Man has hurt himself punching the Hulk, after all. One pulled blow would end this battle, and Superman is fast enough to land it. Or he could blast him with ice-breath, too. Superman is a demi-god, way out of Spider-Man's league....as well as the league of many other beings.

Superman wins, every time, barring circumstances (like if on some daffy whim Spider-Man happened upon Kyrtonite, stupid, but I've seen worse from comics).

BTW, what happens sometimes in versus polls is that people vote for their favorite without considering stats, and then I come along and change about half of their minds. As for the other half...well, 'Nuff Said.:cool:

I understand what your saying in all honesty, I've seen spidey win almost every poll he's been put in on this site, and usually someone quotes some obscure quote from a comic 40 yrs. ago. I've learned to stop caring about fanboy feelings as I realized I am myself. I'm a marvel fan and prob give more leadway than I should, but in a way stupid as it sounds comic characters do get their powers from the fans (I'll explain lol).

Like Wolverine, started out a guy with claws that could have been or not actually attached to him, he wasn't fleshed out, didn't have all the powers or background he does now. When he was brought to the X-men he was a runt with a bad mood, even got beat in a 1v1 martial arts match vs. Cyke if I remember right. Now due to popularity and time he's been changed to be one of marvel comics top hand to hand fighters, his healing factors been beefed up and so on. At first a him vs. hulk/spiderman/cap and so on would have been one sided, but now ppl can actually make good arguments of why he'd win. But someone will always bring up the first spidey wolvie fight where while it did end with no real winner, spidey said he 'could' win but would have to break his neck or something to that effect, at that time that coulda passed, now we know if hulk at his strongest can barely bend adamantium how could spidey 'break' wolverines neck. Tho in the ultimates universe Hulk rips him in two, but that's due to the spaces inbetween the bones, which I still can't see how that'd help spidey shatter an adamantium backbone like he claimed he could.

Spidey's had years of making jobbers outta hero's who are now big but were small fry back then. I stopped thinking of comic history as characters can be completely different in both power and standing year to year. So as long as Spidey's most popular he'll get the votes, and someone will say something like "well in spiderman xX in 1972 spiderman said "If I went all out I could probably beat X" and they'll use that 'fact' to claim why he can beat whoever now.

That aside lol, I like marvel and spidey better but I think superman would win hands down. But I voted spidey because you made a poll and trashed ppl who didn't vote the way you wanted lol, so poll was screwed second u made it expecting a landslide in your favor :).

He's proven that he can move anything short a earth sized planet, without being sundipped. A punch from the green goblin (A being who can physically compete with spiderman) would be comparable to an oxygen molecule bouncing off ones skin, compared to a Superman level punch. :)

Combine that with the fact that Superman is so much faster than Spidey that Spidey DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE ABILITY to react to Superman moving at full speed, and it's a one flick fight (you'll note I said flick, because Supes doesn't even need to punch poor lil' SPidey, a flick from a single finger would do the trick)

On top of that, add Superman's invulnerability, his heat vision (which moves at the speed of light i.e. impossible to dodge) his frost breath, and the fact that Superman's senses are so heightened he can literally HEAR Spiderman's muscles contracting for a leap (think Daredevil, but MUCH better) and this fight should be over in under thirty seconds.

And before Superman fans get all pissed off, let me note for those that haven't read the comic...Spidey gets exposed to red sun radiation unknowingly by Lex Luthor, which allows him to kick Superman's ass for nine pages, but once it wears off he nearly breaks his hands trying to punch the Man of Steel. They actualy had this comic a long time ago. Spidey got in a couple of decent shots but was really no match for him. Supes has beaten the hulk in the Marvel / DC crossover and he has beaten Thor in the Avengers / Justice League crossover (Thor should have crussed him!!!). What chance does spidey have?
