Since we have a new x-men cast on the franchise, and a pretty interesting one, I thought it would be nice to have a topic dedicated to them, to discuss about them, their proyects, both past and upcoming movies, interviews, quotes about the x-men, our thoughts about the cast and all of that.

So.... here it is :woot:

New proyect for Michael:

Michael Fassbender Takes an Assassin's Creed

Variety reports that the planned movie adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game Assassin's Creed is moving forward with Michael Fassbender attached to star in and co-produce the movie.

Originally, the Assassin's Creed movie was going to be produced in conjunction with Sony Pictures but those negotiations were put on hold and Ubisoft has decided to finance and produce the film independently through their recently-launched Ubisoft Motion Pictures (UMP) division with former EuropaCorp CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet running the show.

The original game involves a bartender named Desmond Miles, captured by a secret organization with ties to the Knight Templar who repeatedly send Miles back in time into the body of his assassin ancestors to retrieve valuable historical artifacts, the first time going back to the Crusades. Presumably, Fassbender would be playing Miles, even though that's not stated in the story.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet, said about the actor:

http://comingsoon.net/nextraimages/assassinscreedfassbender1.jpg

"Michael Fassbender was our first choice. Michael (Fassbender) is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor."

The various "Assassin's Creed" games have sold over 30 million units since the first game's debut in 2007 with "Assassin's Creed III" scheduled for October 30. Ubisoft has big plans to turn the games into a movie franchise, but they first have to find a writer and director, which they'll probably do before going out to studios, including Sony.

"We're open to re-discuss with the key studios once the production package is finalized," Baronnet told Variety. "Whatever the financial model, UMP will limit its risk investment." According to the story, they also will save on production costs by using some of the in-house game studios to handle visual effects for the movies.

The Variety story also mentions that the company wants to adapt "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" and "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon" into films and are developing an animated television series based on the "Raving Rabbids" for Nickelodeon.

A lot of them are pretty busy and I just hope their movies will help the 2014 X-Men movie to get more viewers especially with Jennifer Lawrence's appearance in the Hunger Games movies.

Id like one of the xteam boys to get more recognition, with a role in another franchise or so, like Jennifer.

Fassbender and Jennifer are great actors, definetly, but Id love to see one "x-men" to end being famous too

like happened with Hugh and Halle from the first trilogy.

Isnt Beast in Jack And The Giant Killer and Mad Max? Most of the crew have pretty solid careers imo.

Rose has a pretty solid resume.

Angamb

all have some proyects for the next years, but none in the same level as Michael and Jennifer.

We know this is a hard industry, and only a few actors get worldwide recognition and fame. It just would be cool to have some more First Class actors becoming Stars in the near future.

Mad MAx and JAck and The Giant killer are pretty big films imo.

They would need Oscar worthy or Hunger Games level stuff to get on Fassbender or Lawerence terms.

yes, Im glad nicholas is on those films, he is really talented actor, I think. So I hope big things come for him soon.

yeah. Jennifer's push started after Winters bone, which gave her the Oscar nom.

And Michael has been doing some great movies in the latest years that have put him in the place he is right now.

He's part of two new franchise already, with X-men and Prometheus, and these two more that new proyect will make him even bigger in the next years.

Lets hope some of the other actors from FC get bigger chances too.

Rose Bryne was in Bridesmaids last year and the movie got more money in the box-office than First Class.

Zoe Kravitz will be in Will Smith's movie After Earth. While January Jones will continue her work on Mad Men.

January seems to be the one that doesnt seem to build a movie career at all.

something tells me she doesnt care too much about movies.... Im sure she has had pretty decent offers after Mad Men first seasons, but she hasnt done much in the latest two years or so

def28
07-10-2012, 05:07 AM
I see. I dont really know , I think some actors wanna a break after the season stops. Might have been because Madmen just started, She had a film in 2009 so she probably filmed in 2008 and then she had a few action films and FC shooting in 2010. One or two could have been delayed and shot before cause three films and Madmen would have been tough to shoot in a year.

Angamb
07-10-2012, 05:18 AM
it could be both cases too.

she probably wanted those breaks, and at the same time maybe she hadnt great movie scripts or wasnt interested about the offers to date at all.

in any case, as long as she has a better role as Emma next time, Im fine, he.

I have seen Contraband, where Ben Foster appears too. I think Caleb has much potential, from what I've seen. He has an unique look that could bring him interesting and different roles. I'll be checking his steps since now.

Yeah Him and Mark Strong should be a good duo in that flick.

Im sure Mcavoy will have just as strong a presence in FC2 as he did in FC.

Yeah, I know...but I wouldn't expect less, since Charles and Erik are supposed to be the main characters in the new series anyway.

What worries me is Second Class turning out to be a more action-oriented movie than FC, and Charles isn't exactly an action-oriented character. And that his struggles to adapt to his new condition - the one thing I really wanted to see the character go through - will be more like forgotten. We shall see.

Meanwhile, James has just started shooting The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His/Hers (yeah, they'll make two films) in NY. First pictures, with Ciarán Hinds: http://www.rexfeatures.com/set/1794082

Angamb
07-10-2012, 10:05 AM
Even if the movie has more action (really expected), Charles will be the main voice of the X-men, with his philosophy and his new "proffesor" side, that they will have to adress, after first class end.

He will be the mentor of the x-men and maybe the first students on the school, so that along with his new scenes with Erik will be pretty decent for his role on the sequel.

oh, and I want to see his struggles too, lets hope Matthew adress it on one scene, at least. we'll see what happens in 2 years :D

Flifth looks interesting, I haven't read the book it's based on but from what I gathered James' character in it is an, er, absolutely filthy S.O.B. Looks like a gutsy choice of role.

I also loooove Jessica Chastain, so a double film with her and James sounds good :)

I know nothing about Assassin's Creed apart from the fact that my brother was quite obsessed with playing it for a time, but I'm a sucker for medieval stuff so hopefully it turns out to be decent. There really hasn't been many decent historical (or quasi-historical) films lately.

I really look forward to the FC sequel, but I honestly hope that Fassbender and McAvoy do a film together outside of X-Men, their chemistry is just too good not to use over and over again.

Actors who are already a regular cast member in a TV series usually don't audition for movie roles. If they got a movie role, they were probably asked by the studio.

Not to be rude but out of curiosity why do you type the word "project" as "proyect" in every post as well as the title of this thread? I thought it was a simple typo at first but The "y" key is nowhere near the "j" key. My father's side of the family's from Spain (where your profile says you're from) but I can't think of a reason why you'd confuse "y" with "j" phonetically either since in Spanish "j" makes an "h" sound. I'm not trying to criticise you I'm just baffled by this! XD

McAvoy is doing a play in London until the end of April.
James McAvoy will play Macbeth for a new West End  theatre company run by Jamie Lloyd.

The actor will portray the Scottish king in a radical production to be played in the round in a newly configured Trafalgar Studio in Whitehall to be known as Traf Transformed.

Lloyd will produce a series of four plays in the new space with designer Soutra Gilmour, which is being backed by the Ambassador Theatre Group.

Macbeth will run at Traf Transformed from February 9 until April 27.

Here's the PBS trailer with Eddie Redmayne:

In the ruinous trenches of northern France, Lieutenant Stephen Wraysford (Eddie Redmayne, My Week with Marilyn, Richard II) barely seems to register the death and destruction all around him. His eyes are fixed instead on his drawings and his deck of cards, and his mind is focused on the memory of his one love, Isabelle Azaire (Clémence Poesy, 127 Hours, Harry Potter). For Stephen, events unfolding on the Allied front in 1916 are eclipsed by his memories of the summer of 1910, when he met Isabelle in Amiens. When Isabelle leaves her oppressive husband René (Laurent Lafitte), the two lovers share a blissful existence that seems to make up for a lifetime of loneliness and isolation for Stephen. But their idyll is cut short when Isabelle leaves without explanation. Stephen battles the Germans on the front six years later, as he also battles his own internal grief and confusion over his loss. Adapted by Abi Morgan (Iron Lady, The Hour) from the Sebastian Faulks novel, Birdsong tells the story of Stephen's awakening to love and his determination to reclaim it.

He's been non-stop since rehearsals for Les Mis started last January. That filming ended in June, then I believe he took off through July (I had read they were no vacation in Colorado), then August with The Wolverine through November, and then right away into hectic Les Mis promotion all over the place, then "Prisoners" (which is why had has the beard) started on January 16, and he's been flying back and from from Atlanta to London to LA doing all the requisite awards events.

He's on Letterman on Feb. 20 so looks like he's not filming in Atlanta, at least on that day. The Oscars are Feb. 24 and that would seem like that's the last awards thing he has to do, so then he can focus on finishing "Prisoners" which is rumored to end on March 26. Then who knows what his filming schedule will be for DOFP.

He did say in his recent Hollywood Reporter interview that his told his agent "he needs to be home" so I'm thinking no filming for a bit after DOFP. But he does have to promote Wolverine (Comic Con in July perhaps?) with all the talk shows, etc., and the same goes for "Prisoners" which is out on Sept. 20.

But I do wish all this award stuff happened when he was clean-shaven - not a fan of the beard but it must fit his "Prisoners" character.

Fassbender never got chance to say much else because fellow guest Mark Wahlberg was a total a-hole and dominated the entire show; a combination of jetlag and alcohol. Wahlberg was unbearable. Worst. Guest. Ever.

It's unfortunate that Fassbender didn't get to say more, but I thought Wahlberg was hilarious.

He was hilarious if you like that horrible awkward way. You could tell that Silverman and Fassbender were really championing through it. Actually Sarah gets the real kudos here; had it been me in that position I would have been thoroughly creeped out by him. Did like that Fass called him on ruining the pee and the golf story. Yikes.

One of many great projects for James this year. :yay::up:

He also looks badass in Macbeth, and his performance is already getting rave reviews. John Krasinski tweeted "Got to see James McAvoy CRUSH Macbeth!!!" and even Gary Lineker, the soccer player, tweeted "James McAvoy's performance was utterly compelling." I do too actually, but I've been planning a trip out to see a few friends in London for ages and fortunately the play coincides with it. Just barely though, I think my tickets are for the last performance :P

Also I find it interesting that filming for DOFP begins 2 weeks before McAvoy is available. I wonder if they're going to start with the future-verse scenes.

I'll go in April, and it's a loooong trip for me. But after seeing James in another play I know it's more than worth it.

The only thing I hope for James is that after an energy-charged performance in Macbeth, Professor X isn't used as wallpaper in DoFP. Bryan Singer already did it in two films, and in the third Charles was killed. Why is it so complicated to write a powerful telepath, wheelchair-bound character? The two weeks absence worries me, because before the whole "bring all the old cast back" started, James was supposed to be the main character alongside Fassbender. Now we can't even be sure.

James McAvoy's interview in Time Out London:

It will be interesting when Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick and I are all working on “X-Men”. We might have a Macbeth-off. I might just go, “My Macbeth’s better than your Macbeth… And your Macbeth: hmm, not so sure.”’

"Macbeth-offs" sounds like a lot of fun. :woot: I would pay good money to see James, Ian and Patrick going at it.The rest is here http://www.timeout.com/london/theatre/james-mcavoy-interview-were-all-imposters-in-hollywood but apart from the quote above he's only talking about Macbeth.

The shoot it supposed to be quite long though, and there'll be scenes like the Sentinel future which James will probably not be a part of. So I wouldn't necessarily worry about the two weeks absence.

I hope that this ferocious Macbeth side of James gets used in the movies more often. The casting people probably just see his angelic features and nothing else.

I hope so. It worries me that he'll arrive there in the middle of the action, when First Class was a project he was involved with from the very beginning. Gives me an impression that young Charles won't be that important for DoFP; I really have no idea.

I hope that this ferocious Macbeth side of James gets used in the movies more often. The casting people probably just see his angelic features and nothing else.
He'll be quite ferocious and deranged and, well, filthy in Filth, so I guess this will help change his image too. As an actor, James is capable of playing any type of role and be convincing, he should never be typecasted because of how he looks. But I know that's how the industry works - trying to keep the actors in roles that "fit" them. Thankfully he doesn't want this for himself.

Scheduling conflict has nothing to do with roles being bigger. Fassbender has a contract with Fox, pre-production on his next film probably took longer than expected so he had to drop. Happens everytime with actors.

No one is saying that James, Jennifer and Fassbender will just make cameos, but "big" FC roles is just an assumption at this point. Singer saying that he'll focus again on the Charles and Erik relationship is not only about James and Michael, but Ian and Patrick as well.

Bryan Singer never said majority of film takes place In 1973.That came from other report. He said part of film takes place In 1973.

Michael Fassbender would be needed heavily even If there was a more equal split between 1973 and future.Which would be half of film In future and half the film In 1973 and time goes back and forth like comic.

You would think If majority of film did take place In 1973 there would be more from first class announced as returning.Right now with the nightcrawler slip and bryan announced an actor will be playing Nixon that's 13 characters councting both Xavier and Magneto as 1 character each.

truth is unless singer is going to use the cast of XFC right then there is no point him doing this story at all, so its best just to have faith singer has a vision of how the 2 timelines will gel

McAvoy mentions Alan Cumming:

James McAvoy Says Alan Cumming/Nightcrawler Back For 'Days Of Future Past'; Mark Millar Not Involved With Film

Because "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" doesn't already have a big enough cast with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Hugh Jackman all slated to appear in one way or another, it seems the cast just keeps getting bigger.

James McAvoy (oh yeah, he's in it too) recently stopped by Heat Radio (http://radioplayer.heatworld.com/) (via Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.ca/movies/news/a465136/x-men-days-of-future-past-alan-cumming-to-reprise-role.html?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=dsuk&utm_campaign=twdsuk)) and when asked about his castmates of the upcoming 'X-Men' sequel he rattled off a bunch of names like a contestant on that game show in "Starter For Ten" (good movie, by the way). "You got me, [Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nicholas Hoult will be back, and he's just blossoming massively over [in America]," he said. "Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned - I don't know if that's happening - 'Huge' Jackman is coming by, he's massive, 7'5″ and muscly."

Whoa, whoa slow down McAvoy...Cumming? Indeed, the actor -- who plays the constantly moving and trouble Nightcrawler -- was rumored last month (http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/bryan-singer-trying-to-figure-out-if-halle-berry-needs-to-return-for-x-men-days-of-future-past-20130212) along with Berry, before she was confirmed. Singer had said he was figuring out whether or not the story would fit him in, but McAvoy's word is anything to go by, apparently he has. And while we seriously wonder about an an ambitious, sci-fi tinged, two timeline mutant story that looks like it's going to be even bigger than "The Avengers" at this point, it's rather curious that Fox's comic book guru/consultant (http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/mark-millar-hired-as-creative-consultant-for-foxs-marvel-movies-will-fuel-years-of-random-speculation-20120927), Mark Millar, won't be giving his two cents.

"I’ve not spoken to Mark Millar at all. He’s not involved. I don’t know what his role is about. All I know is that I have my own specific beliefs about how to take this universe forward. I started with the first 'X-Men,' then 'First Class' and now I am combining them and I think it could go further than that and I have some ideas about that, so perhaps he should chat to me at some point," Singer told Bleeding Cool (http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/03/11/bryan-singer-on-mark-millars-involvement-in-x-men-days-of-future-past).

Interesting stuff, and probably a wise choice, if only because Millar can't keep anything secret for more than five seconds without tweeting it/posting it to his forums/telling a random stranger on the street. Shooting on 'First Class' begins this spring in Montreal. The film hits theaters on July 18, 2014.

JAMES MCAVOY: X-MEN SEQUEL WILL BE MUCH DARKER

After the rather underwhelming, yet hugely profitable, X-Men: The Last Stand, it felt like Marvel's mutant universe might be running out of steam. And then X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released. And we were convinced that all steam had well and truly disappeared.

But 2011's inventive sequel X-Men: First Class was a return to form, introducing a fine new cast with more style and verve than Last Stand and Wolverine put together.

Hopes are therefore high for the inevitable sequel X-Men: Days Of Future Past and while speaking to James McAvoy for his new British thriller Welcome To The Punch, we managed to get a few exclusive tidbits on the upcoming blockbuster.

As with many second chapters (step forward The Dark Knight), things are going to get rather bleak...

"I think it’s going to be quite a dark journey compared to the caddish, almost playboy character that we turned him into in the first movie," McAvoy confessed. "I think it will be going through a darker place to ultimately get a sorted Professor X that we’re used to seeing come the third movie. This movie might be a little bit more of a passing through the crucible for him."

He also revealed that the ever-expanding cast (recent additions include original mutants Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen along with newbies Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy), is going to make for one hell of a spectacle.

"It’s going to be a humongous cast," he noted. "It’s going to be like the cast of the beach scenes in Saving Private Ryan but everyone’s a mutant and everyone you’ve seen in other movies before."

Lots of comments like these over the last day or so...

I've learned at this point that it doesn't matter what comes out of Singer or the actors mouths. Certain people choose to believe made up nonsense/concerns for the sake of it. :whatever:

I would imagine that wolverine fans would have no problem with the concept of the "Badass" character getting more screentime and focus than the more "boy scout" counterpart.

I just don't understand why people who have reasonable doubts about the real importance of the FC cast are treated like idiots by some people here. If you love a film and love the cast dynamics, it's only natural to worry about it when so many new actors are joining the film.

How about we discuss this movie without feeling the need to take potshots at each other in the process? No one's calling anyone an idiot, there's no need to bring up what *other people* might think, or assume words or thoughts of fans you disagree with.

Quit the unnecessary griping and stick with discussing the movie.

So more evidence on how big the FC roles are. Yet folks will still choose to believe otherwise.

No one is questioning the how big the FC roles are. But when you have 4 people from the cast of FC and you have 7 people from the original trilogy, some people can't help to think that this movie is looking like a X-Men 4 movie rather than a sequel to First Class.

Mad Ones
03-13-2013, 09:46 PM
If time is evenly distributed between the trilogy and First Class, the First Class actors will have a larger role because they'll only have to divide their screen time by four, as opposed to seven.

I think the FC cast will be brought into the future and have them stay there for the remainder of the film series and when I say future it'll be after the Sentinel timeline is prevented, so some time shortly after X3. The older actors of cast will be gone except for maybe Hugh Jackman. Cyclops, Jean and Storm will be recast with younger actors possibly introduced in DoFP?

The X-Men will be Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Rogue, Iceman, Kitty, Hoult Beast and McAvoy Xavier with the Brotherhood being Fassbender Magneto and Lawrence Mystique for future films.

Magneto marrying Professor X? What once seemed relegated to the realm of fanfic is now coming to pass -- sort of.

Appearing on the U.K.'s popular Jonathan Ross Show, Ian McKellen, who has played the metal-bending mutant Magneto in three X-Men movies, revealed: "I'm going to marry Patrick [Stewart]. I am going to officiate at his wedding."

Ross pressed McKellen, 73, on how he is legally equipped to marry Stewart, who plays the wheelchair-bound Professor Charles Xavier in the Marvel movies, and his fiancee, jazz singer Sunny Ozell.

“I don’t know,” McKellen said. “But in Massachusetts, in the middle of America somewhere, you get a friend along, and I read out the words, and Sunny and Patrick will then be married. … I’ve done it once before with two guys having a civil partnership. I was crying my eyes out.”

Massachusetts' Secretary of Commonwealth offers a service that allows a family friend or relative to perform a couple's wedding ceremony for a one-time fee of $25.

Asked what he might wear to the happy event, McKellen replied that the last time he officiated, he wore "a white gown which I bought in India. You mustn’t upstage the bride.”

Stewart, 72, has been romantically linked to Ozell, 35, since 2009.

Both he and McKellen will reprise their X-Men roles in flashback scenes in the upcoming prequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

New Entertainment Weekly (http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/03/22/jennifer-lawrence-hunger-games-x-men/) Interview with Bryan Singer, regarding Jennifer Lawrence:

X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn cast her to play a younger version of Mystique, the blue-skinned mutant played by Rebecca Romijn in the original films, for his 2011 preboot. Her supporting character took a backseat to mutant frenemies played by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, but the actress made an immediate impression on First Class producer Bryan Singer, who’s directing the sequel, Days of Future Past.

“There was a sequence they were doing with James and Mike, and I noticed that she had no trouble speaking her mind, in a fun way,” laughs Singer. “She and Matthew sort of had a back and forth about what was working and what wasn’t, and it just sort of struck me that of all the actors standing on the platform, she was among the youngest and yet she was able to be the most vocal.”

Last April, Fox pushed back its start date for Days of Future Past, sidestepping a scheduling conflict with Catching Fire, which filmed last fall and just wrapped reshoots. Days of Future Past finally gets underway April 14 in Montreal, and Lawrence’s character is expected to play a larger role in the sequel, though Singer says that was always the plan and nothing has been changed plotwise to showcase her presence.

“You have to be careful not to suddenly lean the movie all towards her just for her rise in popularity,” Singer says. “It has to work for the character. She’d be the first person to argue that. It’s an ensemble movie. It’s definitely not suddenly her movie, but she factors in it significantly. She’s going to be more bad-ass in this movie, which will be nice. A lot more bad-ass than Hunger Games. Which will be fun to see, because she’s very feisty, as you may have noticed in Silver Linings.”

“In an industry where people are so worried about everything and put such importance on the process it takes to get ready for the Academy Awards — like what was your process to put on a dress and take a shower? — she understands the lack of importance of that,” says Singer, who got to know Lawrence better in England during the filming of Jack the Giant Slayer, which stars Lawrence’s now ex-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult. “She doesn’t care what people think about her, what she looks like, her weight, her attitude, her anything. She just doesn’t.”

Singer knows how to get attention.

"She’s going to be more bad-ass in this movie, which will be nice. A lot more bad-ass than Hunger Games."

There's your pull-quote! :D

thats exactly what I wanted on this movie. To see Magneto asking Raven to kill the politician. as her very first dark mission, showing her conflict or what happens to her to decide to do it.

THATS the interesting stuff regarding young Mystique, how she evolves to the Mystique everyone knows.

I hope Singer delivers

Well I hope DOFP will really show how Mystique's attitude went from a sweet girl to a cold hearted person. I feel like its the important thing that they should give to Mystique in this movie. Even if Jennifer Lawrence/Mystique aren't going to appear in future movies, but if they explained why Mystique became a cold person, at least they have completed her story arc.

after FC, Ive thought about cool and dark stuff regarding young Mystique

like showing Raven on the streets, at night, and a group of humans antimutants attacking her heavily, for being a mutant. That would be something really intense for the character, and to me, that would be more than enough to make us believe why Mystique started hating humans and becoming slowly the cold character she is.

I imagined too Azazel finding her, as a beautiful moment for the two, and as a way to start the Nightcrawler connection.

But sadly all of this is out of Singer plans right now. Such a shame

Not surprised about Mystique being given a larger role for this new film. I have a feeling she will be in both time-lines. Singer was able to turn Rebecca's Mystique into a cold-deadly assassin, and I bet that is what he plans with Jennifer Lawrences Mystique as well.

I feel like the story-arc of the future Mystique ended when Magneto left her and Mystique helped the government to track down Magneto. I can see Bryan Singer wanting Rebecca Romijn's Mystique to have a better send-off or a better last scene in the series. Future Mystique could also just comeback especially if the cure is temporary for all the mutants. But when I think about it, thats another (minor) story-arc that they have to deal in the movie. It also leads to more questions like are they gonna fix the relationship of Future Magneto/Future Mystique, what is Mystique doing in the future, is Mystique is going to work with the X-Men, is Mystique to going to meet Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, etc etc etc.

And as for Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique visiting the future period, I don't thnk it will happen since the majority of this film is set in 1973.

If another character from OT shows up In future It would be Mystique. And I don't think they would spend any time In 30 to 40 Minute timeframe of future scenes If that Is how they balance the 2 time frames on dealing with things that went down under Brett Ratner especilly since by end of film much of that film may be Ilrelvent to future films.

They aren't going to deal with The Last Stand that much because this movie isn't about that, but I don't think they would take the time to deal with the return of Rebecca Romijn's Mystique. They already have the Sentinels, the powers of Rogue/Magneto returning, the return of Professor X and the process of going to the past. You keep pushing this idea of Rebecca Romijn returning but I just don't see it. Her character isn't as important as the characters of Ian McKellen/Patrick Stewart that both version of Mystique should appear in the movie too. If they are bringing back Rebecca Romijn then they should also bring back Kelsey Grammer.

It seemed during the 2005-2009 period Fox moved their focus from the X-Men and just rushed the stories with random directors. But after the huge sucess of The Avengers every company from DC Comics to even Fox now seems they want some of that success. Comic movies can be successful and since Fox owns The X-Men there are tons and tons of characters that could be used for future films. Fox needed to start putting X-Men on the map and that is what they plan to do with this movie if it is indeed the biggest X-men movie to date.

How can she be 'in on the plan'? There was no plan. She threw herself in front of Magneto when the guard regained consciousness and fired the cure dart on that truck, she ended up being cured, and Magneto then abandoned her and walked off.

No one knew that the guard was going to fire that dart, so there was no 'plan.'

Mildly, off topic, but I'd hate to be a celebrity. You can't even go to the gym in peace.

I'm sure it's all part of the publicity plan. The camera filming Hugh can't have been furtive.

Wow! Hugh Jackman is soooo beefy! yum!

on other hand, he still has short hair.

Singer tweeted OSCARS nights "Hugh dont cut the hair anymore" or something like that, but still looks short

I like wild hair Wolverine, its more iconic. They can pull it off, just with the right makeup/hair team

From Oscars until last week Hugh was filming the movie 'Prisoners', so he couldn't change his hairstyle.

On another note, how will Halle being pregnant effect this film?

Not part of publicity - you probably have no idea all the photos/videos snapped of Hugh. There was a video from today of him walking his dog and the dog got into a barking tiff with another dog. And there's always photos of him taking his kids to school. And this is not the first time he's been snapped working out from the outside looking in. He's followed by the paps in NYC all the time, especially since they know where he lives.

Woah between the inclined DB press (looks like 25lbs Dumb bells), Bench press (looks like 40lbs?) and Leg raises, looks like I'm doing the same routine Hugh's doing...BUT WHY AM I NOT AS BIG AS HUGH??!?? :oldrazz:

That's based on a video game right?

Movies based on video games tend to be dodgy rather than not, but we'll see.

I think J.P. Ferreri is still on Broadway doing "Newsies" although in his Twitter there is a photo of him with Nicholas Hoult.

after seeing some pics and videos of him, I dont see him at all as part of this franchise, or as a x-man.

So I hope this is just Singer meeting actors here and there :D

JP is a Broadway actor (never thought I'd see him in this thread, hahah!).

Bryan and Nick were/are in NYC right now. I'm sure they hit up a few bars, nothing more.

Phase 4 Films acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights to writer-director Shana Betz’s feature directorial debut Free Ride. The film stars Anna Paquin, Cam Gigandet, Drea De Matteo, Liana Liberato, Jeff Hephner, Brit Morgan and Ava Acres. Scripted by Betz, the film is produced by Susan Dynner, Cerise Hallam Larkin, Chris Swinney and Paquin, and executive produced by Mark Larkin and Stephen Moyer. This is the first film production from Paquin and Moyer’s new production company CASM. Phase 4 will release the film later this year in theaters and on demand. Paquin and Moyer star together in HBO’s True Blood. Set in the 1970s and based on her life story, Betz’s accomplished directorial debut is a provocative crime thriller: Paquin plays a single mother who moves to Florida with her daughters in search of a better life but gets pulled into the high-stakes drug-trade business.

“Shana Betz has written and directed a poignant and gripping film anchored by a powerful performance by Anna Paquin,” says Phase 4′s Barry Meyerowitz. “We look forward to working with Shana, and the entire cast and producing team to bring this film to audiences.”

“It’s always very exciting to discover talented writers and directors at the beginning of their careers. Based on the life story of Shana Betz, our writer-director, Free Ride tells an emotionally intense story of survival, and the lengths a mother will go to, to take care of her children,” said Paquin. ”This was a story we felt passionately needed to be told. We are thrilled that Phase 4 is as excited about the film as we are and look forward to working with them.”

Phase 4′s Larry Greenberg and Katharyn Howe did the deal with Paradigm’s Nick LoPiccolo and attorney Ron Levin. Featured Artists Agency’s Brian Dreyfuss reps Betz and was heavily involved in packaging the movie. Cargo Entertainment is handling international sales.

I'm so excited! It sounds very promising and Anna always tops her game in indies. I hope it has a wide release.

P.S.: I was looking for a thread for the OT CAST, but I couldn't find one so I posted here.

you don't need an oscar to prove your acting ability. And Anna already has one, and she got it at such a young age as well.
