Ok, it's been out for awhile, but I haven't seen a thread for it yet so I thought I'd start one. This movie is awesome. It was a total surprise, my buddy brought it over and usually he wants to watch movies I'm not into, but this movie was great!!! If you haven't seen it I highly suggest renting it or buying it, it's cheap cause no one has heard of it. They are filming part 2 this summer and I can't wait until it's out.

Yes, I like it a lot.
But one thing I couldn't get:
Why would that fan onslaught guy suddenly turn good.
And the ending was so quick...very strange...

best... movie... ever...
the irish rule.
catholicism has never looked so badass.
the guy who was bad and suddenly went good was never really bad, he was just a hit man. then he finds out that conner and murphy are his sons so he stops trying to kill them and helps then with their mission

I honestly don't see what's so great about it...
It was bad really. Sure, it had few moments, but helluva lot of crap. That Rocco guy, or whoever he was for one. ****ing annoying. Too bad he wasn't killed sooner. Besides, why didn't the saints kill him? He killed innocents and was a ****er. And then there's that fat-ass, the so-called porn-star. Why on earth did they cast him anywhere? ;)
Shesh. There's too much to complain about that movie. It definitely isn't good. :)

I am very glad that I wasn't the first one to have to point out how terrible this movie is although I must admit that my complaints are different than yours (I have known who Ron Jeremy was my whole life for example). Anyhow, this movie does suck.

yea i kno he is. but how does his being a bad guy who gets what he deserves ruin the film for you?
I donīt understand why they havenīt done a sequal yet. That ending is as if was built for at least two more movies!

This was a great movie. Probably one of my favorites. I loved Willem Defoe's over the top performance. Especially when he's acting out the gun fights inside the flashback.
---THERE WAS A FIRE FIGHT!!!---
The sequel was supposed to be shooting this summer. Boondock II: All Saints Day. The imdb says they're still in pre-production. Can't wait. Hope they don't screw it up like other franchises who get a sequel out just to have a sequel.

2 irish brothers decide to go around and kill criminals in their town. They also team up with their goofy Italian friend Rocco. By the way who ever said Ron Jermy sucks if a ****in idiot. They should watch his biography movie, hes funny cool and a family man.

Just got this one from my DVD club and watched it again last night. I truly love it. The characters are so well done that I don't know why there's not a comic out about them yet. Of course, the acting was supurb too. Those bros had a lot of realism to them and William Defoe was delightful to watch.... as always.
I cant' see how anyone disliked this flick.

I loved this movie, it blew me away. What's funny is that there is all this mess about a Punisher movie, and the whole time I'm screaming "Here it is! THIS is the Punisher movie!" It's in my Top 10. I adore it. Irish people own.

Yeah, okay...The Punisher movie is called "Death Wish" starring Charles Brosnson in 1974 - Boondock Saints my a$$...if there was no Death Wish, there would be no Frank Castle - period.

Well, you've got a point there. That is a good one. But personally, I enjoy Boondock Saints more. But at least Death Wish was better than Dolph Lundgren, am I right?

hoe can there be a sequel? Is there nothing sacred in the world? Selling-out every story for a few million dollars?
If Conner and Murphy would see this... I don't know what they would do but it would be pretty BRUTAL!

Agreed. The movie was total crap. Well the fight scenes were well done but kool fight scenes doesn't make for a good film. Plus they dragged the movie out to long. If they would have cut the court room scene down by a couple of minutes and ended it right then and there it would have improved the film greatly.
Also The film was way to heavey handed.

Not really. All it has is a few seconds more of blood. Just a few squib shots that weren't in the regular version. I only got it because I have a widescreen TV and it is anamorphic.

Classic style over sbustance movie. Decent acting (a brilliant performance by Dafoe), really cool directing, awesome action, a good sense of humor, lots of blood, cool music and oodles of style. It is a bit shallow but who cares when it is this entertaining.

Scariest thing I've ever seen, though, Dafoe in drag with some guy grabbing a handful of his ass.

Has anyone seen Overnight, the documentary about the director of Boondock Saints, Troy Duffy? Very insightful and cautionary.
Wow, is he a jerk! As soon as they bought his script for Boondock Saints, he automatically became an ******* (or more of one, perhaps) and acted like he was the greatest thing in the world. He actually pretty much said the same thing several times throughout. He kept saying he and his band were shaking the world up, and that they were doing what no one else in history had ever done, and that his HIS film career was going to last a long time. Then you see how he really alienates everyone with his narcissm and huge ego.
If you want to see a true douchebag in action, watch this doc. I actually thought about recommending this to a friend who has a much smaller scale ego problem and power trip syndrome. It seems like it would be a good intervention tool.

I get a lot of crap for this, especially being irish and having lived in Boston for two years, but I really don't like The Boondock Saints.
I think there's some interesting and quality stuff in the movie. Mainly coming from Willem Dafoe (when isn't he on his game?) and some other assorted moments. However, when all is said and done, the movie just plays to me like a high-end home movie that managed to get the Green Goblin, Young Indy, and the techie from Blade 2... It was poorly shot, edited, written, and directed. There are some decent performances that manage to save the film from being completely abysmal. But it's not enough to make me ever want to see it again.

Now you will receive us. We do not ask for your poor or your hungry. We do not want your tired and sick. It is your corrupt we claim. It is your evil that will be saught by us. With every breath we shall hunt them down. Each day we will spill their blood ‘til it rains down from the skies. Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal. These are principles, which every man of every faith can embrace. These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost. There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain. But if you do you, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will reap it. And we will send you to whatever god you wish.
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee, power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. We shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti.

Hey Everyone!
O’kay, here’s the scoop. I know you’re impatient on the sequel. Not be long now, Daniel sahn! Long form contracts and business affairs can be very time consuming but we are close, so keep the faith. Also, we are simultaneously financing my follow up to BDSII, “The Good King.” There are a lot of logistics with this stuff and no one is more frustrated with it all than me. I want to get goin!
Action! Cut! Moving on!
I have officially started working on my shot list and something I call my Boondock Bible. That’s how I’m keeping sane while the lawyers argue and wrap this **** up! I’ll get you guys back soon.

T.Duff
