Anyway, I don't know why I continue to participate in this thing but here we go:

Powers?
Mutant?
Member of a group or team? LOL. First of all, Unus the Untouchable was one of my old favorite villains because he appeared in Power Man and Iron Fist & The Defenders which are two of my all-time faves, his death was cool, and I knew that he was italian so that would explain why he was not born in the USA. Plus he's pre-70's and there aren't many evil mutants that are/were members of teams that doesn't wear a mask. What can I say, I've been reading comics especially the X-titles for a long, long time. Now back to the present.

3)pre-70's
4)has powers
5)not a mutant
6)affiliated with a team or group

TheCorpulent1
02-26-2004, 07:54 PM
Male?
Mutant?
Hero?
Powers?

LuckyJ
02-26-2004, 08:44 PM
Ok... I'm not sure I can answer the powers question. Isn't this a yes or no topic?? If not, I'll give a general "power" description, otherwise I'll only count three questions.

Yes, male.
Yes, mutant
yes, hero... but not always.

3 Questions down...

Elijya
02-27-2004, 05:37 AM
does he have powers, or is he just a normal guy, like the Punisher, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye, etc? that's how it's yes or no. But you've already said he's a mutant, so obviously he has powers, so just ignore the question

Deadpool?
Xorn?
Havok?
Wolverine?

TheCorpulent1
02-27-2004, 06:20 AM
Sorry, I meant the powers thing in the way Elijya said. but, also like Elijya said, you already said he's a mutant so forget it.

Is he/has he ever been a member of the X-Men?

LuckyJ
02-27-2004, 09:46 AM
None of those people Elijya... sorry.

And No, not ever a member of the X-Men.

4 Questions Down...

Elijya
02-27-2004, 01:55 PM
ever been a member of a team?

Justice?

LuckyJ
02-27-2004, 06:48 PM
Yes, has been a member of a team.

I'm not sure what you meant by justice... Is that a guess? if so, then no... otherwise, explain further.

5 Questions... you're 1/3 of the way there.

Unthinkable
02-27-2004, 07:43 PM
Quiksilver?

LuckyJ
02-27-2004, 09:32 PM
nope, not quicksilver

Jaguar God
02-28-2004, 01:00 AM
Is it Mikhail Rasputin or Caliban?

if not, does he wear a mask?
is he alive?
is he american?
did he debut before the 1980's?

LuckyJ
02-28-2004, 01:24 AM
Not Mikhail or Caliban...

He does not currently wear a mask
Is currently alive
Is american
And did debut before the 1980's.

9 Questions... 6 to go!

Jaguar God
02-28-2004, 10:45 AM
OK. I'll recap.

1- male
2- mutant
3- hero... but not always
4- never a member of the X-Men
5- member of a team
6- He does not currently wear a mask
7- Is currently alive
8- Is american
9- did debut before the 1980's

TheCorpulent1
02-28-2004, 11:37 AM
Does he come from an alternate timeline or reality or whatever?

LuckyJ
02-28-2004, 12:08 PM
No... he's from the main marvel universe but he has played a role in some of the AU's and AT's that marvel has run.

Jaguar God
02-29-2004, 07:46 PM
X-Men villain?

Guyverjay
02-29-2004, 07:48 PM
Namor (even though he's not american:o)

TheCorpulent1
02-29-2004, 09:05 PM
Does Namor qualify as a mutant? He's a crossbreed ...

LuckyJ
02-29-2004, 10:22 PM
No, not an X-Men villian... That's 10 Qs down.

And no, not Namor.

Elijya

Yes he does qualify as a mutant. He's Marvels first mutant. In fact it says this on the front of his book:D

But why? He's part Atlantean, which is where I assume his powers would come from. Or is it because he's got powers beyond those of even other Atlanteans? If that's true, then wouldn't Thor technically be a mutant, too?

Guyverjay
03-01-2004, 07:04 AM
I suppose so but he's a god so that title takes precedent.

But then again thor's mother gaia (sp?) is technically the mother of virtually all the earth gods in some way or another

TheCorpulent1
03-01-2004, 07:26 AM
Ah ... I guess. I don't think the other Asgardians are related to Gaea though, even indirectly. They don't affect nature like Thor does.

Anyway, to recap:

1- male
2- mutant
3- hero... but not always
4- never a member of the X-Men
5- member of a team
6- He does not currently wear a mask
7- Is currently alive
8- Is american
9- did debut before the 1980's
10- From the mainstream Marvel universe
11- Not an X-Men villain
12- Pre-70s

Can he fly?

LuckyJ
03-01-2004, 12:36 PM
technically yes, but you won't be seeing him fllying around in the comics right now.

Elijya
03-01-2004, 02:34 PM
why are people doing your recap for you?

did he debut in the X-Men?

It's the little wings on his feet, I think, that make Namor a mutant. The flight and super strength are not part of the Atlantean/Human hybrid abilities.

LuckyJ
03-01-2004, 03:25 PM
Elijya... they took it upon themselves to do the recap so I didn't feel the need... but I'll recap now just for you!

1- male
2- mutant
3- hero... but not always
4- never a member of the X-Men
5- has been a member of a team, but is not currently
6- He does not currently wear a mask
7- Is currently alive
8- Is american
9- did debut before the 1980's
10- From the mainstream Marvel universe
11- Not an X-Men villain
12- Pre-70s
13- Can fly, but doesn't right now
14- Did NOT debut in the X-men

so the answer to your question is no... one more question and then comes the guessing. Make this last one a GOOD one!

I do recaps for my own benefit because I easily forget stuff. So I type it down and then look at the complete list of questions. Then I figured there hasn't been a recap in a while and I already have this one written down, so what the hell?

Wild Child?

LuckyJ
03-01-2004, 04:16 PM
Nope, not Wild Child... and hey, Corp, I saw some of your artwork in the fanart section and it's sweet. Good stuff man!

Anyone got a game-breaking question?

TheCorpulent1
03-01-2004, 05:49 PM
Thanks. :)

I suck at thinking up good questions so I'll leave it to someone more enlightened. Um ... Justice? Rage? Living Lightning?

LuckyJ
03-01-2004, 07:40 PM
Nope... none of those...

ohwattagosiam
03-02-2004, 02:21 PM
Hey-ya!

Is it Mimic?

LuckyJ
03-02-2004, 02:46 PM
Nope, not mimic... think hard about this one cause you guys are gonna be ticked when you realize who it is...

you probably don't even realize this character was around before the 70s but he most certainly was. Anyone have that 15th Question for me??

ohwattagosiam
03-02-2004, 03:16 PM
Has he ever been a member of any X-Team?

Mr. Fear
03-02-2004, 03:19 PM
I don't think these guys appeared before the 70's and I don't even think they're mutants, but Dr. Strange or Silver Surfer?

Mr. Fear
03-02-2004, 03:22 PM
Wait......Wonder Man?

LuckyJ
03-02-2004, 08:33 PM
No, not Dr. Strange or Silver Surfer

No, not WonderMan...

And no, never been a member of the various X-Teams. So let's recap all 15 questions here:

1- male
2- mutant
3- hero... but not always
4- never a member of the X-Men
5- has been a member of a team, but is not currently
6- He does not currently wear a mask
7- Is currently alive
8- Is american
9- did debut before the 1980's
10- From the mainstream Marvel universe
11- Not an X-Men villain
12- Pre-70s
13- Can fly, but doesn't right now
14- Did NOT debut in the X-men
15- Never a member of ANY X-Team, period.

I guess that last question was important to clarify things, but I don't think you picked up any really important information from that... too bad.

Ok, so the guessing begins. Good luck everyone!

I'm not thinking anything through because I don't know of any characters that meet all those criteria. I'm just throwing guesses out. Who knows, maybe he made a mistake in one of the answers?

Besides, I'm pretty sure he's not pre-70s but he HAS been a hero. He was a member of the Power Pack and he was artificially aged for a while into Psi-Lord.

Jaguar God
03-02-2004, 09:57 PM
I'm stumped! From now on we should ask first if the person is a member of an X-team instead of specific X-Teams.

Franklin Ricards is RIGHT!!!

And yes, he did appear PRE-70s. He first appeared in Fantastic Four Annual #6, in 1968. Just because he wasn't a major player until more recently doesn't mean he didn't exist back then.

He was part of a team but not anymore, is a male mutant, did not debut in XMen and is currently alive. I checked all my facts before I answered any questions.

Corp wins! Your turn buddy!

TheCorpulent1
03-02-2004, 11:32 PM
Woohoo! So when you said he wasn't always a hero, we were jumping to conclusions assuming he must sometimes have been a villain. He's actually just a civilian most of the time. Clever, clever. ;)

Ok, I got mine.

Jaguar God
03-02-2004, 11:45 PM
male or female?
hero, villain or neutral character?
super powers?
member of a team or group?

LuckyJ
03-03-2004, 12:20 AM
Yes indeed... that was the main catch. Everyone started naming the reformed bad guys but failed to see that just because he isn't a hero, doesn't make him a villian.

I'm glad it took until the 15th question to get that one right. I've got questions, but I'll wait until after you've answered these current ones.

Puck?

Is Puck a mutant?

Well, was he just in the cartoon show?? No... uh... I've had to edit this three times. I think he joined later, but wasn't one of the originals. So he was in the comics, but I think he might have been a mutant.

How about Guardian/Vindicator/WeaponAlpha... he's had three names, but its the same guy in some kind of supersuit.

So, how about it Corp? Is it Guardian? or Puck?

Jaguar God

When you look up a character like Black Bolt there is a thing called Group Affiliation. This can be a team like the Defenders or a group like the Inhumans or the Maggia crime family etc.

I agree with JG's idea of a group. Doesn't have to be a consortium of men in tights to be a group in a comic book.

Aren't all Asgardians and Eternals originally from Earth? (Also, they all have super-strength as standard since there average ability for lifting is 25+ tons) And Inhumans for that matter. Name the ones that can fly and I suspect that you might get the answer.

Eternals-wise: Kronos, Zuras and Alars are all dead, so no. However, Thena, Ikaris, Sersi, Makkari; the Forgotten One, Kingo Sunen, Sprite, Cybele, Phastos, Khoryphca, and Interloper.

Errr.... that's all I got. If it's an Asgardian or an Inhuman someone else can list 'em.

EDIT: It ain't an Inhuman (I'm 99% sure). So, if it's none of the above then someone list some Asgardians!

He flies without the use of a chariot in Thor #69, if I recall correctly. He saves some guy and the guy mistakes him for Thor, then he takes off flying without any kind of help. I'm relatively sure about that, but I don't have my Thor comics with me to check.

Is/can/should there be a rule about how obscure a character can be when choosing them for 15 questions? You wouldn't let somebody choose "guy standing next to peter parker when he got bit", nor "woman who scream out 'Look, it's Captain America!' in Captain America #167". What are the boundaries for stff like this?

TheCorpulent1
03-09-2004, 10:16 PM
I think it's pretty much limited to specifically named heroes and villains and major supporting cast members. You can have a third-rate character like Dr. Bong but not Jarvis' long-lost niece (hypothetically speaking, I don't know if Jarvis has any relatives) or something like that.

A character with one solitary, very dated appearance might be pushing it. Still, if you know about them, others might. And after all, isn't the point of the game to stump everyone else?

By the way, is this whole line of question just some circumlocutory attempt to imply that Magni was too obscure, since he's only been in a handful of issues and he's only existed for about a year?
