Show me a manip of anyone else that LOOKS better as Superman. There have been several well done composites of other people as Supes, but in MY opinion they dont have anything on Welling. (don't turn this into an acting argument, this is all about the physical representation of Superman) Hell, Iv'e tried doing manips of other actors as Supes, but they all end up looking off to me. Either way, lets not get all worked up over these things. It's just a silly manipulation.

Actually, I'd say that is one of your weaker manips and a weaker advocate for Welling. He looks way too boyish in that picture. His head looks a bit too big for his body. Overall, he looks like he belongs in Buffy the Vampire Slayer rather than Superman.

Looks anatomically correct now. However, he still looks too much like a teenager. You were able to make him look relativly mature in your other manips, but here he looks juevenile. I mean, he looks to me almost somewhere between Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher. Not like Superman at all.

If i had to judge between those 2 manips, I'd pic Zombies. 1) The resolution on his is much nicer. 2) Welling's head looks natural on the shoulders (now).
What Im saying if anything is that he is better at this manipulation thing. You shouldn't try to compete with him. He is very skilled. If you take something that he has done and try to do it better, it just doesnt work. Try other photos instead to prove your point that Bailey makes a good Superman.

Uh... sorry but i'm gonna have to blow my own trumpet here. Did you SEE my other manips? The resolution is NOT better. My manips have been messed about with to make them look like they were painted. The smooth look is due to that, not the resolution. Zombies hair looks false and you can see the lines were he has had to add more neck to his picture. He is good but are you seriously saying i'm not in his league? Am i the only one that thinks you are wrong here? Like i said... did you even see my other manips? As for this one, the only thing that was wrong was possibly the size of the head and the neck thickness. I'm not gonna alter the neck cos that IS his neck. If you don't think he looks good as Superman with that neck then fine... but the problem lies with the guy, not the manip. I'm not gonna make his neck thicker. That is how the guy looks and he should be judged on how he ACTUALLY is. Christ i could make Woody Allen look like a great candidate for the role if i manipulated the hell outta him, but that would just be a lie.

Also, I didn't add more neck, I erased the shadow from Reeve's neck and added my own shadow for wellings head. and added a highlight on the left side of it to match with welling's face. No neck was added.

I find it very hard to believe that they would have a design that looks EXACTLY like an S on a distant planet. I do think Bailey could make a good superman. He just needs to beef up a bit. Thats why he's my 2nd choice.

I really like that Bailey manip. I would, however, like to see the blue deeper, darker, but still vibrant. Same for the red. If possible.

EDIT: Also, on the Bailey manip, this is just something I thought might make it better, try playing with the RGB balance on either Bailey's face of the skin of the main body to get a closer match. The face is a little too yellow compared to the more red neck area.

His face has too many features such as big lips and wider nose... That to tell him apart from Superman would be to easy. That's why he doesn't look right with the glasses on. Because his facial features come through way to much no matter what :o You need someone with a more symetrical face... Then when his hair is different it's enough to give more of a seperate identity. Bailey for example looks very different with glasses on than Welling does. That's because Bailey's face is more normal.

There's a I don't want Welling camp -- switch around ANY flavor of the month and it's the same result, same numbers, etc etc etc.
If people didn't switch their choices around like underwear we'd still have Cavill as the number 2 option on this forum.

Bailey's just another guy for the haters to get behind, and when the next guy comes around you'll be left with the same small number supporting Bailey that you have supporting Cavill now.

IMO he never really looked all that much Superman in the first place, but he was close enough for that to not be a problem. He is hardly the spitting image of the Superman drawn in the comics tho. No, what happened is over a year or so ago Batman casting was a big issue on the boards. Bailey was rumored to be Batman, and everyone associate him with Bruce/Batman. I then suggested that Bale would be a great Batman and Bailey should play Superman. For the record, I am not really a Wellingnite...indeed I knew Welling probably would not do it and that there's no way in hell that WB was/is going to cancel Smallville this season (barring any unforseen circumstances, i.e horrible low ratings)anyone even remotely associated with entertainment would have known that. I have no favorites. I just know what I don't like and I don't like Bailey as Superman. I was going to post a compelling smart rather entertaining interesting Noble Peace prize worthy reason for why, but that kind of flew out the window in favor of the fun. :D

Don't make the red so dark. They key to the suit is to have the "blues, blue. And the reds, red". You want a nice color blue, with a colorful red. Not BRIGHT hooker red, but a nice colorful red.

It's not exactly the "red" I wanted, but I was too lazy to try and get it just right. :(

Edit: I'm standing by the dark blue, though. The vibrant blue of the original just screams Richard Simmons!

Perfect. If you want to see the colors they are going to use, that is going to be about it. If you can, not sure if it can be done, try to emboss the "S" or make it look raised a tad, and you will have something near what the upper toro may look like.
