Here's what I have to say about the costume...


Yes I can admire someone who wears their breifs on the outside of tights...as long as its Superman. Sure, the costume has had subtle changes throughout the years, but 95% of it has remained the same. You dont have to go changing the costume just to please the crowd. Without it, he's just NOT Superman. I hated what they did with the X-Men costumes, but hey, they needed them to be that way in that world. But Superman doesn't need a change. "Look up in the air! Its a bird! Its a plane! No its some guy with his underwear on the outside of his pants!" WRONG! Its frickin Superman!!! He's worked SO LONG in this costume...in comics, on TV, on film....it doesn't make sense to change it now just cuz a few people think its ridiculous to have the red briefs. Well here's what I say to those people: Piss off and deal with it.

Dorky, JcDc mentioned me having a look at the texture/lighting prob.. Hope you don't mind but I had a go at it.. The face pic seems like an absolute nightmare to work with, was the lighting problem on the base pic?
Anyway, all I could manage was adding a spotlight to the lower left hand side, shining up between lois and Supes.. it darkened the outer edges and made the "shiny face" seem as if it was caused by the spot light... Not an ideal solution, but it seemed to help

Maybe mixing the idea with your toning of the face could work..
Anyway, here goes.. Added the spotlight and a little cloud to try to draw the main focus away from the face problem, infact attempting to use the shinyness of the face as a feature.. I think you get my drift :)

I'm all for it..just not in the first movie. ;) Well, since Stewie posted his version of the shield I have been converted to the classic colours, but for a long time I was convicned that yellow just coudn't look good on screen, and thought that this was a good alternitive. It does give him that 'yesteryear' look. I would prefert a gradient yellowed \S/ now, but I still think the black and bronze looks good. :)

I just had the most amazing vision

For this vision you will need the music from starship troopers. its the one when they are landing or something.

It starts out in the clouds, the camera is obviously moving up very quickly. We suddenly emerge from the coulds. The sun is BLAZING, the camera is moving with Superman at first who emerges from distant clouds at the same time. He is flying fast, he pulls above the camera basically to what the my poster looks like. The camera pulls in towards and angles slowly coming up under him spinning slightly until we come up on his side..

OH MAN. I think id fall out my chair if I saw that! They should put me in charge of the flight sequences!

I am actually really warming (And bactracking a little lol!) the colouring of that S. I was always open to a shield in relief, or slightly raised. The yellow blend and shadows achieve this without it actually being three dimensional. With the muted graduated Yellow and the Darker Red it looks very upscale. With the deeper Blue it could look quite striking. The Classic suit (but with a totally ripped Supes) and logo in these revised colours might be the way to go. :)

I really see 3 movies telling why Jude Law would be great as Superman.

1. Talented Mr Ripley because they had him gain 20 pounds, and had him and Matt match up their physiques since Matt was playing his character through the middle and end of movie :o He's never had a role requiring him to gain any amount of weight outside of this movie. I'm confident he could get a physique or at least mass needed for Superman in part based on how quickly he added on the 20 pounds for his movie.

Yeah not the best face pic to use, as for the hairline that's a non issue. As it's been discussed on here before, even Reeve was wearing hair piece. Ben Affleck did for Daredevil as well. Connery does... Etc... Pretty standard stuff. It's hollywood and they can fix that very easily.

I have seen tons of manips. Bailey is the only one who makes sense. All the others look like boys playing dress up.
