Who is he? He's Eion Bailey. He was in Band Of Brothers as David K Webster. He's been in a lot of movies(some good ones) but never as the leading man. :D

He is also rumored to be in the running for Batman. I think he would suit Superman better. I was watching Band Of Brothers and I thought he'd make a good Supes/Clark. :)

This is why I say Speedman hasn't really got it. Usually your manips are good and in most cases convincing. But with Speedman it doesn't seem to work. I just don't see Superman in him. The manip is good but not convincing.

What's the deal with Paul Satterfield? I've never heard of him, but a Google search show's he's got some acting credits (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/PersonDetail/personid-4221) . Is he too short? Can't act? Not a big enough name? Too old? Why isn't he listed as a fan favorite? There's a guy that plays a bit part on my wife's soap opera (General Hospital). Mind you, I'm not saying he's the best candidate in the world, but he is exactly the type of guy they should be going after in terms of being an "unknown". (Duhamel was on a soap until this year) Get the guy for cheap off a soap opera and hire a director who can make him a better actor. I'd include a pic, but I can't post attachments.

His lips are pink, all that apparently was changed is contrast :confused:

All I did was get the appropriate head shot, then I used a mixture of of tools in Adobe Photoshop Elements. Basically all I used was some color Variation, Some cutting and pasting, some hue/lightness/saturation and some brightness/contrast tampering, considering I had to match the color to the neck and hands. I used blurring around the edges so it would blend into the background better and I took one half of his head in the picture, copied it, and then flipped it to match with the other side.
The curl is just cut and pasted from his hair.

What all this really brings up is, does anyone know of any good free programs that can be used for re-coloring black and white photos to match a skin tone easier.

I agree...THAT is the "Superman look" they should be going for in a younger, unknown actor. The right guy is out there...the "character" is the star of this film, they don't need a big-name star to play the role. Why can't they figure that out? Do they (WB) believe a bigname star will lessen the risk of losing big on a big budget? Just look at recent Harrison Ford movies to understand big star does not automatically mean big box office...and in this case, having a big name would hurt the movie. Cavill might be ok...Welling would be my first choice of the names most often mentioned...Fraser would be a bad idea even though I like him as an actor. Just do a nationwide casting call like freakin' American Idol or something...there is the "perfect" guy out there toiling away in some community theatre...someone who can indeed act...not that it's a big requirement when the likes of Kutcher and Hartnett have been mentioned. If they must have a big name on the marquee...get Bruce Willis to play Lex Luthor...not my first choice, but a big name that could do the role (and not just because he's bald).

wow...i've watched this thread from the very beginning, and i've seen some great pieces and attempts.

that one pic of Chris Reeve standing in front of the flag that's gone around quite a bit, i've seen amazing things done with that, using other actors' faces. however, i've seen many of these great pieces using that shot used far too much as a guide to how well they [the actor] would look in the part.

you have to remember that the original pic is Reeve...that build, costume, and most of the time hair belong to him. I think that too many people see those amazing manips and say "Wow, I'm sold! That actor is perfect!". there's that nearly uber-famous pic of Welling, using the Reeve pic as the base. It is astoundingly good, but unfortunately, it is not Welling standing there, with the hair all made up, and the costume on. And I know that's the point of these, to see "What if?", but I've noticed too many times people basing their choice for a Superman actor on these manips.

Well, everyone who worked on Red Dragon did it because of Silence of the Lambs. And most of them thought Ratner was an overrated hack. My friend was the assistant to Harvey Keitel on that project and his directing style is literally putting the actor in front of the camera and going "Okay... now say the line like this? Good. Next shot." He's a musiv video director, same as McG (who also gets an all star cast dispite his obvious lack of talent).
