The picture of Routh isn't that great. It's taken from a bad angle so it's kind of hard to align the face. It's too much of the top of his head. It looks funny on some pictures, like the flag pic.

Hey Dorky I hope you don't mind, but I made a few modifications to your manip (which is the best freakin one I've seen yet btw) Added more bulk to him (increased his collar size) adjusted the suit colors and tones in his face, gave him the classic S emblem (just a personal preference) and changed his half smirk to a full smirk. Also as a matter of personal preference, I gave his hair a trim (was looking a little 70's-ish after the other changes) I could actually come to think of it adjust one or two things on his costume to make it look a little more photorealistic. But anyway, hope you approve!

Also, where did you find that pic of Routh?

That's all fine and dandy if you're trying to do whatever it takes to make Routh look as close to the comic book Superman as possible, but what I try to do in whatever manip I do is show what the actor/actors/actress/actresses would actually look like in their respected roles. I don't know if that's what you're trying to do, but in your modification he doesn't look so much like Routh anymore (although he DOES look more like Superman right out of the comics). Yep, well that was the intended idea to make him look as Supe's as possible, but wouldn't it be reasonable to think that Singer, the studio, and especially his trainer would spare no expense to get him as Super-fied as possible also? I dunno, I'd expect no less but as you said, to each his own of course. And I'm glad you like the \S/ :) Always been a rather dorky pet peeve of mine that Reeve's S was a little different then in the comics. But hey, it was his movie rendition of Superman so it's all good. Just a matter of preference.

The problem is even if he bulks up another 20-25 pounds, he'll still be too thin. Gaining 25 pounds of muscle is not easy, and just because Reeve bulked up does not mean he can bulk up like that. So it looks like a muscle suit is in order.

Personally, I might have gone with Cavill. I think I would have been happy with any one of them except for Caviezel. As for the muscle issue, yeah I tend to agree that he'd still be too thin, however isn't a muscle suit under the costume along with subtle silkscreened muscle tone value what they're planning on doing anyway? I know thats what they did for Spider-Man

I had to do soem color adjustments on it....as great as thr last maip was...thr curl was a weird color, and brandon looks too sickly...i added some healthy color to his face, saturated the suit a tad, and tried to reduce the splotchyness from his face.

Fixed the stunted neck, improved his complexion, adjusted his 'lazy eye,' and rounded out his jaw slightly. Gonna go on to making a completely new manip. Yeah you are rigth about superman III, it really felt that way , and that is the supermna movie I watched the most. Well that was because the local staion in NIgeria kept showing that over and over again.

I never said Reeve was a hulking beast. But in the original film he was 6'4" and 225 pounds. That is significantly larger than Routh.

I would consider Reeve in the original film the minimum size for Superman. Any thinner and he wouldn't have been convincing. That's why I never bought Dean Cain as Superman. Too short and too small. The thing about Reeve is he had everything. He had the look, enough size, the voice, and he even played Clark perfect.

I hope Routh can pull it off. I'm not entirely convinced, but I'll give him a chance.

I was for Caviezel because he was by far the best candidate. Not because he played Jesus.
I imagine the possibilites of a morality play depicting Superman's stong, pure ideals
versus the selfishness of this world embodied by Lex Luthor had great appeal to Jim.
How Jim would pursue the character of Superman has always
intrigued me if this strong subtext was present in the film.
And some thing I wanted to see.
Superman coming to life in his full depth and all dimensions.
What Superman stood for as well as villains stood down.

All jokes and disses aside, I do think that Jimmy Caviezel is a very decent and capable actor who would've been good as Superman. But I think I'm with everyone when I say that I don't want good, I want great, excellent, phenomenal. I just don't think Caviezel would've done the role justice in a way that Singer wanted. I do hope that he is involved in the movie though. I'd love for him to play Jor-el, John Corben, or any other role, cause I do think he has that classically trained actor thing working for him.

Dissing a person's sexual orientation is terribly offensive. Honestly, I am one of the people who don't want Spacey to play Lex, but it has nothing to do with his being a homosexual. I would kill the ripple or at least tone it down.
Enlarge the main characters heads and have them above any effect you've added. Also you could morph a bald head onto Spaceys head and have his head tilted straight so he doesn't look so laid back. Add photo of that actress where her head is not cut off.
And lastly a crisper straight on font for the Superman text.

I know Im going to get flamed for this,but i actually like the new school compared to old school(film-wise).


although,its not really becuase of the "S"(although i do like it,somethig else caught my eye),its because of the material shown in thsi manip.


its Spiderman-ish,which Ive heard is what they're going to use(according to an early interview with Singer)and it looks great IMO.


Im sick of the same thing being used(basically spandex all the time,and virturally the same \S/).I want something NEW,without being overly different,like this manip.it stays true to the original,and yet it brings something new to the table,which is why i like Spider-mans,Batmans,and Daredevils costumes.

In other words a combination of what's out there now and what we've had in the past. It's not like "Let's copy spidey" it's, there have been over 20 years since Superman and of course technology and materials will change. So they will make use of what's available and hopefully something new and better will be made.

I just don't like that picture of him in general, but what totally throws it off are those "Born to Eat People" glasses he's wearing. I'm a fan of the Buddy Holly style ones that he wore on Halloween.

I like this suit, too. But Singer's going with the traditional costume, and as such the question should be how he's going to execute the classic design, and how he can make it look and feel new again. Now is not the time to start pushing for costume updates. It's too little, too late for that.
