these are ridiculously hard...i completely made up the angle of his face for that one. it's sorta based on the pic in batgirl's avatar and the shading is from the original pic. not happy with the eye though...work on that when it's not 2:30 in the morning :p

Good work. The first panel is the best. I know likenesses can be a b**ch to get right, especially without good references. The very first one you did of Routh as Superman was probably the best, simply because you has a better photo to go by.

I think your drawings show that the proper hair, clothes and glasses can go a long way towards making anyone look like a decent, classic Clark Kent.

He may not look exactly like he stepped straight from the comic, but Routh is gonna look pretty good if Singer dresses him right.

I hope they don't just dress him as a trendy, modern guy with spiked-up hair and modern glasses, because he'll just end up looking like any old guy and will seriously date the film (Reeve is the perfect example with his stupid glasses). He's gotta be classy and classic, not trendy. Timless, not dated.

I can barely see the pic, but from what I'm able to make out, the face doesn't quite resemble Routh.

If you want advice from certain posters, then email them or private message them with your concerns instead of posting 100 different verisons of the same thing over and over again.

I tried it out but it seemed hard to use,, Prob just couse Im used to using paintshop, The funny thing is I started learning paintshop couse I thought it was photoshop then I noticed it was a diff program,, LOL photo is the best program though couse my pics never look hi res they allways got a dim look to them its got to be the program couse some manips I see here are the bomb...

i've never used paintshop but photoshop has the option to change the resolution of the images you're working with. and i don't see what you're talkin about with the dim thing....i thought you were using photoshop from the way they come out

I agree its a great program but photo prob has a lot more options than paint. From what i have seen on this site and others hi res and it looks like its cool for coloring and adding nice effects to photos.

Im gonna give it another go.

If you're talking about JASC Paintshop Pro the it really shouldn't make any difference to how your pictures look. Pixels are pixels, it doesn't matter what program you're using, your manips would look exactly the same as they do now if you were using Adobe Photoshop. Resolution can be anything you want in both programs, and it it's not like one has colours that the other hasn't.

If you think your pictures look "low res" or "dim" then it's probably something you are doing. Maybe you've got your compression setting too high when you save to JPEG? Personally your pictures look fine to me, but the better your source images and skills and techniques, the better your pics will look.

Paintshop Pro has a TONNE of features (didn't use to, but it has caught up to Photoshop a LOT in the last few versions), more than most people would ever need (the latest versions anyway). There's no reason to switch to Photoshop if you're not even using all the features of Paintshop Pro. I've never switched simply because I'm used to the interface and it does everything I want. Version 9 is the latest version, and I only have ver. 8, which is pretty full-featured.

And it's much cheaper, assuming you pay for it (which I, erm, don't).

Ok, I must say it. The manips really aren't convincing me all that much. Routh still looks too pouty, big eyed, big eyebrowed and youthfull.

Mind you most of the pics avaliable seem to be infavour of giving him the more model/headshot photo look, and in what I did see in the W&G clip, his pouty lip factor doesn't show up so much on screen, although I still can't say about the eyes/brows as they were completely shadowed by the hat.

I just can't wait to see an official released image from the set where we can actually get a better idea of what he looks like/will look like on screen.

Singer has said that it was when he met him in person that his look screamed Superman, but that's just it, he did see him on his screen test firet with out being 100% convinced. Not that he needs to be by the test but what comes across in person doesn't always tranlate onto the screen. Which I am worried about as all of the pics we have seen so far just don't seem to give his look all that much justice.

I just really want an image that is in context rather then the pouty wide eyed puppy dog faced images we've been getting.
