According to Steve Younis at Superman Homepage, in his talk with Singer, He (Singer) indicated that it would look similar, (to the 3D \S/) would obviously be red and yellow in color, but that it would have a slight embossed/bevelled edge to the "S".

I followed the directions in the FAQ on the site, if you go back in through the main page before you start making a character you'll see it. It tells you how to save the image. If your using a mac like I am I can tell you how to do it (hit shift+the apple key+3 and it'll take a screen grab, you can then open the screen grab in photoshop and make a copy of the character box and paste it into a new file so its only the character and not the whole screen)

yeah originaly I just wanted this to be like fake shots from a Clip, but then I turned it into teaser looking shots.
Yes the black suit WOULD totally confuse an audience. Think of it like the first half of a 30 second teaser.
Second half would show quick shots of him doing stuff in the REAL suit.
Maybe I'll continue it and put the "Returns" at the end of that if I get time.

I hate the texture of Superboy's suit in this rendition. I guess he borrowed the material from Peter Parker.

If that's what it looks like, I'll be pretty dissapointed. The undies bug me, and not only because their undies. They could've gone with something more like trunks. The cut is much too high on them, and I don't like the downward point of the belt. And I don't like the neck line. It's not low enough. They should've gone with a collar if they were going to make it any higher than the classic.

I gave the suit an 8, the only things I don't like are the textured pattern in the blue(it worked for the spidey suit cause it was kinda suggestive of the webbed design), and I think the s-shield should be bigger. I for one like the sloping belt and s-shield buckle(as long as its just the outline of the shield like shown here) although the belt could be a bit thicker.

I hate to say this but I am actually on the verge of tears.

I am making a promise right now. If this suit is what we end up with in the film, I swear I WILL NOT SEE THE MOVIE.

This is a huge step for me as I have been detirmined to see it with everything Singer has been doing so far. Especially the new movie summary we've recieved. It's PERFECT but barely anyone has said much about it as it has been over shadowed by how bad this is.

I am standing by this promise. If this does not change I sadly will simply not see this film. It may not sound like much. And I'm sure there aren't too many others who won't do see the film, but I AM certain that there are many who will only see it once and even more of the general public who will see this image in the trailers and just have no inspiration to see the film at all.

Superman should inspire. It is that simple. To me Brandon Routh embodies that in what we have seen him to look like so far. But all of that inspiration is killed in that suit.

You can debate all day about the hue and saturation... I went with a deep but rich version of each color.

My main problem with the one shown today was the collar and tiny chest insignia. The wider, squared off collar shows a more dramatic collar bone, and when combined with the wider logo makes his chest and shoulders look bigger.

I also rolled the cape up onto the shoulders more and modified the design and placement of the belt.

Thoughts?

I personaly like the darker suit. The S should have been bigger though,from shoulder to shoulder. But otherwise it looks cool. I would have much rather seen superman with short hair. But that is only possible if in he journy he went to a place with a red sun so he could trim it. I see the point with keeping it like he looked in the originals.

Don't get too excited, its obviously one of the manips, but this goes to show, unless there's a page where we can all vote for the best fan art so that works like this aren't just for those 10+ people who were on the board at the time, none of us would have gotten to see this.

I was thinking there was somethign different about the picture unti lI realized you gave me a little trim. I think not only does he look like he's ready to kick some ass, I think his overall body looks a lot bigger too. Just want to let you know that I like this manip so much that I'm gonna show my buddies this picture instead of the actual picture released.

Yeah, here's a list of what I did:
• Deepened/saturated the colors.
• Made the \S/ bigger all around and proportionally taller.
• Lowered the neck line.
• Move the parts where the cape meets the neck line over and expanded them to make them fall more across his shoulders.
• Very, very slightly bulked up his arms, shoulders, and chest.
• Thickened his neck and jaws and gave his jaw line a more square shape.
• Shrank his ears, eyes, nose, mouth; tried to give him a more squinty, intense look.
• Trimmed and darkened his hair (never liked the puffy, long hair of the original movies) and darkened his eyebrows.
• Added a little more blue to his eyes (very subtle).

True, because my point wasn't to show "This is what they should have done." but to simply illustrate my vision of what Superman should look like and how different Routh and this costume are from that. It's just my opinion so take it as you will.

I disagree, the red used in the reeve's movies would have been out of date. The color there using now just looks bland.

That's what I would have preferred. In the real pic, he looks too much like Foreman from That Seventies Show in a costume designed by some guy who was going from his memories of the Superman TV show that he saw when he was 5. Very disappointing says I.
