yes, he is very talented.
and routh is a exelent choice, but in the photograps rout looks very ughly, he is not photogenic...

He's a newcomer, he'll be better onscreen- Singer wouldnt have cast him if he didnt have presence

i think Routh is actually a little bigger than Reeve was from Superman 1 and 2. the only reason Reeve looked bigger is because of his thick neck. when i look at them side to side...Routh's body looks bigger. he has a wider frame (even if those shoulders are paded). Routh's pecks definitely stick out more than Reeve's did.

I created these using the Hero Machine 2 in my thread over in the fan art section...I know they aren't great but It was still fun to make.

This is my 2050 team of Original Hero's updated...I am going to probably purchase Hero machine 2 so I can get more customability. But even so they aren't horrible:

It's not a stupid question. Hero Machine is a program, that allows you to put together your own superhero, character, whatever using already drawn pallets. It's like a "Create a Character" option in a video game. Except it's for creating comic book character.

back in those dark times when what we old hypers call "the casting wars" a thread was posted asking about taglines and whether truth justice and the American way would be appropriate in this day and age...
I believe it was a poster (to some a legend) called Superboy who came up with "Truth, Justice and Hope" the phrase was a winner, it had to be, years after Superboy disapeared off the face of the planet people are still using that tagline.

I know this isn't exactly Superman Returns art, but if WB had final say in the casting, this would have been our Superman. Don't get me wrong, I think Routh will be awesome, and he is probably the best choice for this project. But I was a big supporter of Caviezel for the role, and Caviezel himself was very enthusiastic about playing Superman. I think he would have made an amazing Superman, and he was so close to getting the role...

Wow, that looks good. Where did you get this at? It does resemble Alex Ross' work. The Clark Kent looks exactly like Reeve.The added background to that Routh picture looks sweet as well.

Routh looks good, but I would like more muscle definition. I'm used to seing muscle-bound Superman from the comics, like Lee's or Turner's. Fake muscles wouldn't bother me as long as they looked real to some extent.

Well, that's just how the superman suit looks. It's not really singer's fault. People would think the same way if you put a pic of reeve as superman next to bale.

On a sidenote, that picture proves how big routh is. I mean, they look about the same size, but the batman suit has the armoured pecs and abs. And Chris Bale got pretty big for the role too.

Correct red? Looks like Fliesher red to me. In fact the suit looks like a modern Fliesher suit minus the S. I mean, ****, if they changed THAT who KNOWS what the reaction would have been. close close, im thinking the exact shade of blue from that flag though, like that dark, and that exact shade of red, with the exact shade of yellow from the bottom of the front bumper, that is close though, but the blue on the flag is much darker than that blue, and the red is a little more vibrant i dont know it its obvious from here since i couldn't get the pictures to line up next to each other with this new crap they did to the forums but yea the blue on the flag seems darker like almost black, and the red seems brighter than that

it probably would be too dark, but i have a twisted idea in my head that the red would make it look really sick, and the yellow might soften the whole thing up and make it look really mean together

that does look pretty mean, the red is still dark, but the blue looks mean, i think with the red from the flag it would tie in pretty nicely together, and a dark suit like that when filmed in light would look lighter, i think it would work

it does make me feel better. I honestly, deep down believe that the camera will cahnge the way the suit looks on screen. All the other pictures are through regular cameras (or eyes), but on screen it will look different, not necesarily them physically going back and changing the color.

Better than singer's still and closer to what superman's belt buckle should look like. It's the the fabric that looks cheap, the buckle looks perfect( but even better if it wasn't metal).

I don't really agree with that either. A TV show should have enough of a budget to make something that looks a little bit better. It's the belt/underpants that's the real weakness. Make that look better and I might agree with you.

Look carefully, the buckle is crooked.

That suit looked fine in 1985. Times have changed, no more of this "classic" superman crap. I'm open to new ideas and I like the new suit (sounds strangely familiar, like a thread title...). It's 2005, time for an update.
