Politeness was not in JcDc's reportoire.
He got cocky, abusive and thought he owned the place. Good riddance.
That doesn't mean you can't be polite.

Look carefully, the buckle is crooked.
That suit looked fine in 1985. Times have changed, no more of this "classic" superman crap. I'm open to new ideas and I like the new suit (sounds strangely familiar, like a thread title...). It's 2005, time for an update.
oh reaqlly? no more classic Superman crap, huh? well, I guess we should just Jim Lee, Alex Ross, and all the other artists of today who draw Superman to go screw themselves, huh?

Alex Ross can go screw himself. I was about to buy Kingdom Come or one of his comics (not sure which one) and I took a look inside... My God, Wonderwoman looks like a man that had a sex change.
Now Jim Lee is cool, I have no problem with him.

WAY too dark. That's more navy than anything, and for some reason it makes the material look like suede. Not saying it's a bad manip, but the coloring is much, much too dark for anything Superman related.

That manip is absolutely spectacular. I would be happier if that was the suit being used (I should note that the reason I do not like the current suit is because I think it looks bad, not because I think it isn't "classic").

Actually they defended their views on the show in a civilized way. It was the SV bashers who, like always, loved starting wars. The SV fans retaliated in defense, as it's expected when a troll pops up and causes trouble. As a result, the mod decided to divide the forums. After that happened some still wanted to troll around when visiting the SV thread and you know the rest of the story. . . they got either warned or banned.

it's ok, yeah, but wrong. The underwear need to be lower and look more like girl's tight hotpants, the top down closer to his pubic region, and the shield has to be smaller, as well as make the cape not hug so close around his neck. we shouldn't see his trapezius as muchl either. it still looks to much like the correct style imo but it was MS paint, so whatcha gonna do...

Thank you, that's my point. It's the ACTOR, not the suit................Christopher Reeve's suit was ridiculous, but because of Chris, he pulled it off and made us believe. It's my opinion that it's the actor IN the suit, not the suit itself that makes Superman................

Well, of course I was exagerrating (sp?) my point, because it seems your slower than others around here, but my original point is it's the ACTOR that makes Superman, not the suit. I assumed that you would take into consideration that any big budget film would have a well made suit, not something ridiculous like you posted..............

im thinking of the JHN Superboy suit:
small shield
low neckline
trunks
this suit
http://www.supermanimagery.com/images/girl-boy/Superboy_pose2.jpg
A suit in this style but with the Singer Suit's materials and construction methods (even colours) would be great IMO - a big improvement over the current suit.
Even just this collar/cape style on the Singer suit would be an improvement - if you absolutely have to have a higher/smaller collar then THIS is the way to do it and still retain that classic Superman look.

Here is something I came up with to try and ease the pain some people (myself not included) are feeling towards the new suit. I took my Routh pic and slapped some variations of Superman's costume that we've seen throughout the years. I didn't do them all because it was too time consuming, but you get the idea.

Agreed, but that's not to say that the Singer suit is bad. I'm a die-hard Superman fan and I hate when people change his look.....but I've also seen some pretty f**ked up interpretations of the character, and this is NOT one of them.
That Max Fleiscer drawing shows the colours as too dark. The Fleischer costume wasn't that dark.

The ab-definition is a nice touch, though I think it looks a little out of place without adding similar definition throughout his body. I personally don't like "too" much definition showing through. I don't think it works in a movie the way it works in the comics. IMO, if you translated the muscle-bound superman with the excess definition to the screen it would look completely ridiculous and unbelievable. But again, that was skillfully added in there.

Good pic, but Routh's actual build is far closer to the "real" superman in the drawing, not the skinny one. I know it's exaggerated for effect, but really, routh's proportions and the big Superman's match up pretty well.
But why oh why does *everyone* draw the boots wrong when they draw a pic of Routh's suit? They seem to draw them how they with them to be, not how they are.
Look at the photo - the boots clearly slant up on the outside. They look like this (excuse the crappy diagram, but you get the idea):
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/lujho/boots1.jpg
Not this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/lujho/boots2.jpg
Believe me, I *wish* the boot tops were a symmetrical 'M' shape, but they ain't. A lot of people seem to completely miss this detail.

Har har oldguy. I like your Doomsday sketch though.
This is not a manip but I've been messing w/Adobe After Effects. I wanna make a trailer but I don't know how so conjured up this instead.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=391MIJ08 <----AVI file
Lemme know what you think.
Guess nobody's checked it out yet. Someone over at fanart didn't know how to use Megaupload so here's what I posted there.
Its megaupload...you gotta wait like 45 seconds for the link to load.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/papakeelo/megaupload.jpg
And here's a screenshot...its only like a 10 second clip...but it took me forever.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a103/papakeelo/preview.jpg
Feedback? It would make a pretty cool website intro...or not.

That is really cool. I think all we need now is Chris Reeve on the other side.

Well since noone's dling my lil avi file that I made (that had a lil tune in their to get you in the Supes mood), I have made an animated gif version of it. No music but same idea. Would make a good internet site intro or something. I was just starting out in Adobe After Effects...my products will improve w/practice.

I don't doubt that, it's the scanning and formating of files I'm weak on.
I brought this topic up a couple years ago and thought I'd rehash it in my manip thread. Imo I know who would have been the perfect Kingdom Come Superman.
Michael Landon

That's not Reeve. That's Superman. There's a reason why Jim Lee and other's "park" the hair on the wrong side.

If you play any episode of Little House on the Prarie at 2x speed and slow down any Led Zepplin CD they match perfectly!

Not in the same league as some of you chaps, but I think a little color could help, and hey, it's 4 am (I hate insomnia!) so any 'wrong bits' you can put down to tiredness.

Besides, what place does he have here? He'd dead. A Kingdom Come movie, or anything to do with one is 1. years away and 2. not supposed to be in this forum. I believe there is an entire forum for this kind of thing called Misc. Superman Films. Duh.

This says it all. Routh looks like Superboy, nothing more. No matter how much you try to accept it, and over look the stupid ideas of this movie, it's still a stupid Superman movie again. I guess he won't ever get a good movie of his own. What a shame.

This movie could have nothing but Richard Pryor waving a Superman cape and a picture of Christopher Reeve as bad Superman and it would still be better than X-Men 3. Have you heard the latest casting on that craptastic piece of crappity crap crap crap?
