You really think JC looks like an older Routh? Strange. I see no resemblance at all. Routh has a more pronounced brow. His nose is much larger than JC's. I suppose I can see a slight resemblance in their cheekbones. And I feel that JC has a fairly weak chin. The things I really don't like about JC, in any of his movies, are his eyes. They kind of droop down at the corner and he just looks funny to me.
As far as Superman goes, I think his face is a bit too weathered for the character. I always felt that Superman would have a cleaner complexion, manly yet youthful. I suppose I could see JC in a Kingdom Come type film but that's not really my preferred version of the character.

I think that Chris Noth and Tyrone Power (King Krypton ideal choice for Supes) looked like an older Routh.
Yesterday I watched The Long Gray Line, and Power really looked like an older version of Routh.

I think Routh looks far better as Superman than Jim. I don't see a resemblance between the two.

In an ideal world? I actually would have liked Chris Reeve, Adam West, and Lynda Carter. I think West could have been given the chance to actually play Batman as he should be and judging from West's pre-Batman Westerns, he would have been just fine. I think they would have been a great trio.

Pretty neat if that were to happend. I read few years ago, Wizard magazine mention they would pick Harrison Ford as Supes if it really happend. As for me, I dunno who I would choice as an older Supes. That a hard one.

how did you do the symbol?
I used the polygon lasso to make the triangles, layer via copy. I can't really remember what I did to get them black, I was half asleep.
Went back down to the pic layer and lassoed the middle part of the S, layer via copy, moved it a little down to cover the yellow area. Merge down, then blur tool to smooth it out. Since I had the black triangles as the top layer, I could play around underneath without worrying about messing up the straight line for the S.
Pretty easy manip, like 10 min. The belt sucks, but like I said, half asleep. Might try to fix it later.

And also, personally I'd want another unknown for the role of Superman in a Kingdom Come flick. Very nice job. Too bad Routh's lats weren't really that wide, and his head that small compared to his upper body.

While I was making that manip, I was actually getting the same type of feeling. Plus, I noticed his nose doesn't really work. I'm starting to like Noth more and more, I might try one of him.

I never thought about Warburton, but I think he would be a cool older Supes. He seem to have few things about him for it. And funny, but he voiced Supes in those commerical with Jerry Seinfeld for credit card.

I saw a clip the other day from Mean Girls and I noticed Routh was in the audience at the school show when the girls' radio gets knocked off stage and Lohan has to save the day.

Routh resembles Mr. Reeve more when he is CK than when his is Superman. Even Mr. Reeve's wife has stated she notices the resemblance.

Maybe if you didn't show us a completely biased neon coloured suit, and instead at a reasonable brightness, we could actually make up our own minds.

You know thats the one thing I hate about message boards, you type something that wasn't trying to be mean but people take it take it the wrong way. I've been trying to avoid conflict with everybody. It depend how much damage he suffer. He may have super healing, but sometime it has it limits. He once die in "Wolverine: Bloodlust", but the creatures he helped brought him back to life. And what if Superman kill Wolverine like the Sentinel did to him in "Day of Future Past". In the future, a Sentinel kill Wolverine by just firing the laser (or something like that) from it palm with one shot & it burn all of his skins off, leaving him dead & nothing but adamantium bones. I imagine Superman could do that faster & using his heat vision more powerful than the Sentinel.

Don't feel bad for the Supes fans. I'm ok with what he doing. The negative came from fanboys wanting things their way. The general audience are part of what will make the movie a success, not just Supes fans (or fanboys if you will) alone. I'm sure many general audience won't care if the suit look different or so. This is a new movie for the new generation. And the suit is different, 'cause what Reeve wore suit him better & no one else should wear an exact replica of Reeve's suit. Which is why a new suit should be for Routh.

I don't exactly fill in the pixels, what I do is manify the picture 8x, and then draw around it with the line tool. I then carefully fill the picture in with the paint tool. It's not that hard when the picture is larger.

I went back about 200 pages in this thread and saw that there are a TON of manips.. but no one had done one like this one that that I downloaded from another site. I really like it and like how it hails to the older Fleischer suit, but is still modern.

Actually the costume designer on the film said the color was scarlet red. This is scarlet, a litle pink and a little orange!

scarlet is too bright for a 40's feel... it's probably gonna be more like a maroon/red.

Without the faded, brown tinted background and surroundings this movie is using, I would've thought the suit sucked. But, luckily, Singer used it right. Of course, my ideal Superman suit would be much different from Singer's suit.
