Hypocrite? I'm talking about the suit specifically there Einstein, not the film. The suit is a QUALITY RENDITION, meaning it's very well made and it's a tribute to Superman since he was created, not just the last 25 years...........Oh, that changes everything. Now you're a hypocrite for being close-minded, something you've labelled suit haters a lot recently. You're close-minded just because YOU think the suit is quality, that it is, as a fact, quality.

Close mind? I don't remeber Milkman ever been one. He was always trying to be open mind with the suit & how it will look on forum. And he didn't label all suit haters as the same. Just some who keep whining & bring up no arguments to back it up. I know there are some suit haters around that are not negative every time. Those are the kind I don't have much of a problem.

Of course it changes everything - I was only talking about the suit. The suit itself is well constructed and done in a professional manner, wouldn't you agree even though you don't like the colors and the design?

EDIT - I fixed it due to Saint not allowing humor (or insults as he puts it) on these boards that isn't up to his specifications..............

actually

its more retro to have an open collar like the classic suit if Singer really wants the retro theme,

open collar is best

the tight collar seems more modern like a swimsuit

so if Singer has tried to be retro and timeless, on the suit he's already failed,

nevertheless, we are stuck with it, so lets wait and see,

teh puffy will rule the movies in 2006!

the first minutes of the movie we will see how bruce helps clark. clark will give bruce hes space suit and bruce will made som changes.than he will borow him hes cape. at the same time they will order some ultra strong material for hes new cape. they will order 10000 meters. alfred will make him hes trunks. with a laser from wayne e. they will make the texture for hes shield. they will make a lot little S's.

the suit doesnt look like that because of singer. it was bruce who made it. this also explains why the colors are so dark.

Can I make a request, or two?

Can someone take the well known picture of Routh as Superman (as posted above) and do 2 things:

1) Make one with the "S" and the belt silver, and with everything black, even the yellow parts and no underpants.

2) Take the same picture and make another one, same thing. But take out the cape.

So two pictures.

Please?

http://img423.imageshack.us/img423/1159/lastson3hq2red23fa23wo.jpgIf this suit WAS used, I can guarantee you wouldn't be complaining. You definitely wouldn't be demanding oxblood red, a higher collar, smaller trunks, S buckle, lower boots and a smaller shield. You'd like that suit just as much as the Singer suit. You wouldn't be saying you want a retro look.

LOL. I've become a big fan of the new suit, but I gotta agree if this was the version used, I would have been MUCH more comfortable with it from the start.

Plus the fact that I don't think Routh is going to look that big. Maybe his arms but his torso is a lot thinner and longer than that. The real boots are lower and the trunks are more speedo than undewear like.

But yeah, now that you've resized it I can see that he looks great in that manip. Are those the teaser poster colors? If not, can somebody color this with the teaser poster colors (Kak?).

No intention to slight anyone, but the grouping of the three images with alterations in a user friendly manner for comparison was Redisnotbrown's work and it was that effort I applaud.

props to whoever did the original manip,
i just did some small changes to see comparisons with all combinations,
having said that,
im strangely drawn to the movie suit, especially the contrasting dark red for the outside of the cape, and bright red for the inside,
when its in motion and we can see it on the big screen, it should look fabulous,

to be honest, im starting to think it doesnt really matter whichever suit is used,
so long as the director does a good job of displaying the suit on screen properly, it should be great

I used to a big fan of Corel Draw. It's how I originally got introduced to digital graphic work. I've since moved on to Photoshop, Illustrator and Gimp (when I'm doing work on someone else's system and they don't have Photoshop). I use Painter as well though for personal art work.

I've seen a lot of manips where they changed the suit a bit to match the comic, but I think this is my favorite. Now one question about it: did you change anything about Routh at all? Like neck size, build, etc.

And is there a chance you can do a version with the poster colors?

His neck has been widened, his hair is more black, also shorter under his ears and altered a bit at the top. Plus, it apears to me that his belt has been moved up slightly to make his torso shorter.

Reeve's cape never flowed in the wind. It was rather heavy, leading me to suspect that the photo of Reeve's costume has been manipped. Additionally Reeve's cape is longer and fuller in that photo than it was in the films.

So what does that have to do with Milkman's claims that Reeve wore a towel? You know what nevermind, you guys go on ahead without me, thank god lunch is over.

Goebbels said that "If the lie is big enough and told often enough, it will be believed." So many fanboys in defence of Singer's vision employ this tactic, "It's not a sequel, Reeve wore a towel and hooker boots, Routh is huge, it's not derivative of Singer to rely so heavily on Donner's vision, it's a classic suit."

All they do is repeat this bull**** ad infinitum, like spoiled children who don't get their way. I hate to say it but they're winning. I just don't have the desire to expose the bogus rationalization like I used to.

This is a promo pic of STM, the length of the cape was made longer. Not to mention Reeve bulked up substantially.

btw, is there someone here who can color a superman drawing for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

Can you all just shut up. I come to this thread looking for manips, not suit arguments. There's another thread for that, go there, post your pics here.

As so i'm not hypocritical, I apologize for taking space here, instead of a manip.

Nice try with this "comparison". It really isn't a fair comparison when you make Routh smaller than he really is, and intentionally take all of the color out of the red on his suit! Here is a REAL comparison:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/wildezc/SUPERPOSES022copiacopy.jpg

Reeve looks great for what he is: A 1970's Superman!

Routh looks great for what he is: A Modern Superman!

Bottom line: They BOTH look like Superman! (But Routh's suit is WAY better!)

*supposed* to bullets, but didn't nail the effect properly. I may enhance it a little at some point, but to be honest, I doubt it.

I just opened a recent Superman comic, that'd be Superman issue 220 and what, oh what do I see? I see that the costume in that issue (which would be *modern*) is a lot more similar to Reeve's costume than Routh's.

Um actually, they did NOT alter the colours in Routh's suit what so ever. That is EXACTLY as it appeared in the picture from which that image was taken. The first released image. That's exactly what the red looks like. And I do NOT believe they made Routh purposely smaller either.
Technically he is shorter then Reeve was.

But phisically, even in the first on with the original pictures colours, (rather then your's where you DID alter it, thus making yours an un fair comparison) Routh's physique does live up to Reeve's.

Um, those ARE the colors in both the Entertainment Weekly and Newsweek pics. I think it's safe to say (just as with all movies nowadays) that the colors will be intensified greatly in the final film. It's not gonna be that dull brown color from the first released photo, just like the sky isn't going to be all gray and depressing.

Sure that's the red being used on the actual suit, but it still has to go through all the color filters. If you ever watch the behinds the scenes footage of a movie like Lord of the Rings or Zorro (or X-Men), the colors on set NEVER look as lush and vibrant as they do on the big screen. The sky gets bluer, the hills greener, the skin tones richer...

You really think Routh is going to look that pale in the final movie? The whole thing is going to get enhanced.

Sorry dude, but that isn't really the right shade of red.

The color of red you posted is the color from the over bright portion of the \S/ close-up, where the colors are visibly being lightened by the lighting. This IS the shade of red:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/wildezc/realcolor.jpg

I know what some people will say: "That is almost the exact same thing!" or "That isn't any different!" or "That is still 'wine' red!" Guess what people, the suit is not "wine red", it is dark red!

The color I just posted is the right color, and it is a lot different that the one you just posted: Here, look at them side by side:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/wildezc/realcolorcopy.jpg

See what a huge difference a few shaded makes? Anyone need more proof? Ok, here:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v252/wildezc/rightcolorspart2copy.jpg

The red on the suit is red. It is not burgundy, it is not brown, and it is not "wine red". It is RED, a dark shade of RED.

I know some people really don't want to admit that the colors on the suit look great. Maybe they would have preferred a lighter shade of red, and that is fine, but it doesn't change the fact that the suit color is RED.

These people, for whatever reason, are always desperately trying to find something negative to whine about. These people will always convince themselves that the red isn't really red. But guess what.... it is red!

Regardless of what you call that shade of red, it's still ugly, especially next to the attrocious blue they chose. I just don't get it: the visual appeal of the suit sky-rockets when that pale, powdery blue is replaced with something darker and stronger, and they didn't notice this?
