Meh, this kinda leaves me cold (get it, cold?). I dropped BoP with this issue from my pull-list anyway (might pick up the upcoming issues just to see what happens next for a bit, but I'm not committing to it again). It just went downhill shortly after OYL for me.

I started reading Birds of Prey for Oracle, continued reading it for Black Canary, and dropped it once Simone decided to give Dinah an overnight personality switch (stupid OYL). I was willing to give this book a second chance (even without Dinah), but things still sound kinda bad.

Mine are "meh". Can't stand this version of the Joker, I miss Dinah, and G.Simone.
The only things that keep me buying the book (but not for long I fear): Helena and Zinda.

the last issue was very effectively bad. The art was meh and the story was ..... messed up, IMO.It's like the writer wanted to put everything in one issue "quick, quick, solve all these in this issue!". Not saying it IS the writer's fault but, I'm glad, in the end, that the serie stops. I think there has been a waste of potential since G.Simone's departure. I think the whole Platinium Flat thing was a good idea, to be at the same level as Oracle, one need a complicated story, as complicated as a computer. Indeed.
The only thing I wanted to see was the Joker facing Barbara, and I find that it was not so badly written. Barbara was well written IMO. and at the end I felt the savage attitude of the Joker, that was good, but no, out of nowhere, misfits appears.
I'm very deceived by the book. And not so long ago, that was my favorite book (with Flash). :(

The first two issues felt lacking to me, but this third was pretty good. It does look like Penguin is probably the one behind this based on that last panel (makes sense since his inclusion was random as hell, but I guess it could be a red herring). As long as the last issue of this arc keeps up with this, I'll probably keep for the next.

I've been reading Gails BoP trades, and I really liked the scene between Dinah and Bruce in issue 79. It managed to make Dinah cool without undermining Batman.

The Birds were never, as far as I recall, actually supposed to be an all-girl team in Babs' mission statement. She just struck up a partnership with Dinah and then expanded it to include other friends who also happened to be women. She never put up a sign over their HQ's doors saying "No Pee-Pees Allowed!" or anything. :o

Eh, I just looked at it as Babs being close to Dinah more than anyone else and then wanting to offer Huntress a team that could hopefully be a healthy environment for her, since she was teetering on the edge for a while. Zinda, I suppose, could make a case for the team being consciously all females, since Babs didn't seem to have much of a personal relationship with her before. But I don't know, I personally still don't have a problem with men on the team.

He restarted the universe in his own Chaotic image and brought her back and kept her in a dungeon like all people who go crazy because the love of their life got killed, forcing them to attain God like power so they can bring them back to life then lock them up and forget about them. :o

It'd be one thing if she just had a revealing costume--that's something I doubt will ever go away in superhero comics so long as the primary audience is still male. I thought it was alright, the ending felt really rushed. I know they were going for the whole cliffhanger thing, but felt pretty wonky. Still not digging this whole 'White Canary' stuff, I wish they would have just named her something less lame.

I thought it was alright, the ending felt really rushed. I know they were going for the whole cliffhanger thing, but felt pretty wonky. Still not digging this whole 'White Canary' stuff, I wish they would have just named her something less lame.

The ending was a bit rushed but it is not really an ending as a lot of the plot points will be contined in the next arc.

While I like Benes, I wont miss him for Decemeber since so far we have only gotten one full issue of his art since his return to the title.

Well, last issue was indeed without Benes. Too bad. The art was OK. But I keep digging the story :up: and the girls. I can't wait for the next issue and am really intriguing in what happened to Dinah next.
The only weird thing in this issue, for me, was how quick Babs recovered from the difficult situation she was in, after this emotional and dangerous stuff with Savant and Creote, once in the car, she was just acting like nothing had happen. I found it very weird how fast she "forgot" the event, especially since it was indeed depicted as a very stressful and tense situation just in the previous issue.

Yeah, seriously. Not only has everyone else sucked at writing her, but sometimes they forget to write her at all. After Prometheus destroyed Star City and killed Lian Harper, where was Dinah? This was her husband's granddaughter and her surrogate son's daughter, and she wasn't there for them. In fact, she's the only character in that family who wasn't all that hurt by Lian's death.

And then there's Chihiro Sin, who was written out of Dinah's life as soon as Simone gave up the reigns to the character.

So, you know... way to make Dinah look like an uncaring b****, DC.

I was okay with Dinah and Ollie getting hitched. They're one of those on-again/off-again couples that just belong together. I just hated the way it was executed, and the fact that their marriage started falling apart the very moment Judd Winick left the title (which was about a dozen issues in).

Dinah and Ollie are a couple that broke up only because Ollie didn't have the discipline to keep it in his pants. The fact that he went celibate for a couple of years before reconnecting with Dinah is the reason she took him back and married him. It showed that he could change.

Then all of a sudden, it was "Oh my god! Some crazy ass new villain is killing off Ollie's rogues gallery, and Ollie is torn between his guilt over their deaths and his relief that dangerous criminals are dead! No husband of mine is going to feel relieved that his greatest enemies are dead! Ollie, you've got major anger issues! I don't know if this marriage will work! Here's hoping you don't do anything rash and immoral yet completely understandable after a mass-murdering psychopath kills your granddaughter, or I'll leave you in your emotionally distraught hour of need!"
