Congrats to Boston. If their starters can go deep into their ALCS games, and the middle of the line-up can "Cowboy Up" against the Yankees dominant rotation, then I see them having a good chance.

Wow, talk about a sore sport. You think the A's wouldnt have been jumping and screaming with a single in that situation? When they walked to lead off the inning, the dugout looked like they won the game. And if you have been watching any Red Sox this year, you know Manny wasnt admiring his shot, that was nothing different than any other of his homers this year. And hitting a go ahead home in game 5 of the ALDS would send any guy jumpin, and Manny just pointed to hsi dugout.

Sore sport? In case you didn't notice, I ridiculed both the Red Sox and A's, so I'm not sure what you're talking about there. It didn't look like the A's dugout was celebreating to me. Sure they were clapping and cheering, and trying to get the crowd riled up, but they weren't jumping for joy like the Red Sox did at the end. And Manny walked around the bases. Watch it again. He was being classless and unsportsmanlike. Why couldn't he trot around the bases like everyone else? Because he's a spoiled egocentric brat.

In 200 hundred years from now, when new history books are written, baseball may be gone (who knows), but the history books will always have the Red Sox listed as the first ever WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!!!! All the rest will be looked at as after thoughts.

Come on, even the announcers called out Manny for his unprofessionalism in that situation...there is a difference between being exhurbant and excited and showing no class as Manny did (his slooooow walk to first and the finger pointing was totally without a shred of class)... it is not just Manny as this problem is ever growing in baseball.

Everyone looks at home runs after they hit them. Sammy has his litle hop, Bonds has his little pause and "I told you so" look, so that's not what gets me. What gets me is his little walk to first base. It was classless, bottom line.

Valiant effort by both teams in the first game of the NLCS. No idea why Dusty brought in the choke-artist Guthrie to face the dangerous Lowell, but "that's the breaks." Nice back and forth game, and a prelude of how good the series should be to the end.
And on the subject of Manny—who gives a ****ing ****? You people act as if this is the first time a player has ever celebrated a homerun in that sort of manner. It's a shame that a great 5-game series was played and the only thing people have to talk about is a homerun celebration.

Here is something I just found on my friends away message....
There is a Yankees fan, a Red Sox fan, a Mets fan and a Braves fan climbing up to the top of the mountain talking about how loyal they are to their team, and how they would do anything for them. Once they reached the top of the mountian the Braves fan screams, "THIS IS FOR THE BRAVES!" and jumps off. The Mets fan screams "THIS IS FOR THE METS!" and he too jumps off of the mountain. Finally the Red Sox fan screams, "THIS IS FOR EVERYONE!" and pushes the Yankees fan off.

Petite vs Lowe.
I wish they started Burkett today, because Burkett ihas horrid numbers againtst the Yankees, and isnt an unbelivably different pitcher at home compared to the road, unlike Lowe who is phenomenal at home. Then Pedro game 3, Lowe game 4, Wakey game 5.

Man, I'm mad
I was on a field trip on Thursday and while I was on the trip Tracy McGrady was in my school filming a commercial, although just a few people knew about it until the next day. On Friday my friends told me that he was in the Gym so they were having PE outside. The coaches couldn't tell anybody so they said "we have a surprise to tell you, but not until tomorrow."

pedro is a disgrace . he has shown the world on national tv , throwing a 72 yr old man down like that . ok zimmer was wrong for running his way , but come on ..what is a 72 yr old man with a metal plate in his head do to a professional athlete . pedro was actually saying 'come on come on " as zimmer was running his way .... what a piece of crap he is . all he had to do is step to the side . can u picture jeter ever face flipping a 72 yr old man ? u would never see it cuz jeter has respect . soemthing pedro knows non of , no matter how good his arm is . his own fans n teammates where embarrased by his actions , all over the news bostonians admitted pedro was a disgrace . throwing at karim garcias head all the way n then saying "ill hit u in th head next time " over n over . clemens pitch after that was no where near manny ramirez who is a total lazy fool himself . manny charged at clemens with a bat in his hand the whole time . he should ve been ejected automatically for that . that ball was just high but totally over the plate . if it was lower it wouldve been a strike ! manny has a million dollar body but a 10 cent head no matter what team he plays for .
as for the bullpen scuffle no one knows yet what happened . so we cant comment on that . pedro n manny got fined a total of 150,000 dollars and prob face suspensions starting next yrs season. idiots that the whole world saw act this way
by the way the only man that apologized today was don zimmer
showing everyone including the redsox how sorry he was ,

What a brilliant pitching performence by Josh Beckett against the Cubs last night. The Cubs offense finally got shut down, and just in time. Unfortunetely for the Marlins, they have to head back to Wrigley and face Prior. Also, if necessary, Wood in game 7. I was really hoping that Zambrano would close the door today, as it would have let the Cubs open the World Series in NY/Boston with Prior and Wood taking the mound in the first two games. That would have been huge. Oh well, Mark just needs to shut the door Tuesday and the Cubs will have Wood still taking the hill for game 1.

I actually agree. I don't see why so many people are getting on Pedro for only defending himself the way he saw fit. Sure if he had been thinking more clearly, he probably wouldn't have thrown Zimmer on the ground, but if someone were charging me my first instict would be to do something similar. Reguardless of how old they are. I don't blame Pedro for what he did at all.

I'm hoping for the best but I don't have too much confidence in John Burket. But hopefully the Sox will find a way to win!

10 NLCS RBI for Pudge who knocked in a run to make it 5-4 with 1 and 2 with just 1 out.A record for NLCS.

So if you had to give each of the 4 teams MVP's of the entire postseason so far according to their performance to this very minute, who would it be?
I would have to give the Cubs Prior, The Fish obviously Pudge (the easiest one), the Yankees I think Rivera, and the Sox probably Wakefield or Walker.

I am hoping for a Clemen's breakdown totally.....I expect him not dominate tonight, btu neither do I think Pedro will, maybe 7 innings of 3 or 4 run ball from each.

O man, there are like 19 threads all on the game tonite. This is the corect thread!!
In much happier news, Sox lead 4-0 and Clemens career is over on a more sour note granted the Sox hold on to a 4 run lead.
