Personally I want Lucy Lawless now. I know there is her age to deal with but someone in another thread had a great idea. Have the heroes be older and already established as heroes. So casting older actors would make more sense then having heroes in their early 20's starting up the justice league. I want my JLA to be a team of mature heroes.

Not true. Tell that to Ron Howard after Cinderella Man debuted. LOL Female superheroes ALWAYS flop at the box office. I realize Cameron's films did good, the first Tomb Raider, and I think RE 1 did good, but none of those were superheroes. The genre has a particular fan base that doesn't really care about following the stories of female superheroes no matter how tight their outfits are. It's just the way it is. I was sure Elektra would change that but the movie sucked so it didn't matter.

I believe that if the story that is being presented is interesting/entertaining to the masses, then the film has a very good chance at succeeding at the box office. Of course there is always expections, but I think that if the film in question is translated from comic book to film in a manner that both comic book fans, as well as the general audiences find pleasing, the film would stand a very good chance at being a success by the time it's theatrical run has made it's rounds. Regardless of the gender of the main character. Personally, I think a WW film would stand a good chance at having a pretty solid, though maybe not spectacular (Spidey/Superman/X-Men), opening weekend. But it would ultimately be up to the people involved in making the movie itself whether or not the film would be recieved as a hit or a flop.

I've spoken to a few people I know about a WW movie being in development and they've told me that they'd definitely go see it. They too can't think of a good actress to play Diana either.

As long as the trailer is good and not too cheesy either, people will flock to go see it. CINO for example was a poorly conceived idea to start off with. We all knew that was gonna be a disaster from the get go and look what happened. What the hell was Halle Berry thinking?

So who is really to blame? I don't think it's the director's fault at all? I blame WB for this travesty of a film above all else. Though CINO was Pitof's second outing as Director. Should we have blamed him for his inexperience as a Director when he tends to be more proficient as a Visual Effects Director.

Oh well back to WW. Is Joel Silver still on board as a Producer?

Batman and Superman have already been established-- the best thing to do is jump into the middle of things; the character which needs to be explained is Wonder Woman but that doesn't mean the film has to spend an hour on her origin. You could do Wonder Woman's origin at the opening of the film with her discovering the armor (which I would make ancient alien technology giving her her abilities and weapon).

The writer could knock out two birds with one stone explaining the Flash's powers as coming from similar lost alien artifacts.

Thats pretty subjective if you think about it. But to each their own.

Interestingly enough, the 2 live action SuperGIRL's that we have seen so far, have both been in their 20's. Slater being roughly 21 at the time of the Supergirl movie back in 1984, and now Smallville's Laura Vandervoort being 23 (same age Loken was back in T3/2003 BTW). :)

So now we're going from age, to maturity? Ok. Atleast we got the fact that an actress in her early 20's could easily play a SuperGIRL out of the way. Especially since we all know a role doesnt really require the actor/actress in question to be the exact same age as the character they are portraying. As far as the "she looked more mature" comment goes, I wouldnt say so. Personally, I still find Slater to be the youngest looking out of the two live action Supergirls thus far. Which isnt necessarily a good thing, depending on one's viewpoint. Vandervoort and a 23 year old Loken are about what and what IMO, in terms of looks. But like I said before, it's all subjective. Just as your opinion of Loken making a good Giganta. Unfortunately, I think we've dragged this on long enough. :o

Jessica Biel is in talks to lasso up as Wonder Woman in Warner Bros.' all-star superhero film "Justice League of America."

Potential deal marks the first piece of casting to emerge from the DC Comics-based ensemble project, which is expected to feature Superman, Batman, the Flash and Aquaman in addition to Wonder Woman.

George Miller boarded the bigscreen adaptation last week as helmer.

Biel is filming the indie drama "Powder Blue," which wraps in October, opposite Forest Whitaker. She will then segue to "A Woman of No Importance," based on the play by Oscar Wilde. That leaves room on the actress' schedule for "Wonder Woman," which Warner is fast-tracking as a project before any potential strikes. However, the film's likelihood hinges on the studio's ability to assemble a cast of superheroes in a small window of time. Christian Bale and Brandon Routh -- Warner's reigning Batman and Superman, respectively -- are not expected to join the production.

The studio declined comment, saying that it prefers to announce an entire cast rather than piecemeal deals.

"Justice League," which is penned by Kieran and Michele Mulroney, could help ramp up a Wonder Woman spinoff, which has long been in development at the studio, with Joel Silver producing.

Certainly wouldnt have been my initial choice, but I have to say she's certainly not the worst actress WB could have potentially cast in the role.
