Of Lobo's choices, I'd go with Peregrym. She's got a great body and the fans would love it. Yustman doesn't really have the name value yet. and I don't think Lilly or Mitra would do sequels.

These are my top 4 Wonder Woman candidates at the moment

Odette Yustman
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2094/gfdl2ly2.jpg

She's gorgeous, a pretty good actress, has decent height, has a good WW look IMO and at 22 would be able to play the role for years to come and would not be too costly to sign and have locked for sequels
.

Yes please, I thought I recognized her somewhere since I watched Cloverfield yesterday, very nice indeed.

Like some posters already said, I don't think there's any effort to make this movie, but I don't know why WB has this mentality that they have give every comic book movie a budget of at least 150 million, which is great, but then they decide each project is too risky. There have been some great movies made with far less money, like underworld. In terms of villains, wonder woman has plenty, all someone needs to do is take one and tweak it for the big screen. I guess these movies are like rocket science to them.

Great manip, jmc.

But I really don't like and don't want this leatherish barbarian kind of thing. It's too trendy nowadays.

I hope they go with the classic outfit.

^ I think you'll be sorely disappointed then if there's ever a solo film, if the character is to be ever taken seriously and be seen as more than just tits and arse, the outfit needs to reflect it. It's just one of the least adaptable comic outfits, there has to be some liberties taken, I think as long as the spirit and basic elements remain the same all should be sweet. I just can't see it working without it looking ridiculous.

Maybe I will be disappointed, then.

But not because this rather childish remark of "tits and arse" stuff you throw out casually, but because, different from your opinion on it, I don't see why a faithful version wouldn't work.

The "liberties taken" are often to make it "realistic" or some other easy, battered and fashionable jargon concerning superhero nowadays.

This example of yours, however really well-done as a manip (congrats again), treats the comic book version with the condescendent "update" that everybody takes for granted without further thinking.

As you said rightfully, I'll possibly be disappointed, but I wouldn't take the other side just for the sake of being mildly contented.

I guess we just see the character being interpreted differently however I will like to respond to the bolded section. If you click on my deviant art link below you'll find a more clearer suit design of this image.

I spent along time coming up with an outfit design for WW that reflected the original suit design in spirit, it's not a matter of 'updating' it's a matter of fitting it into the vision of the character I have, one of an Amazon warrior with Greek heritage, I wanted the suit to reflect it, it's something her comic suit clearly lacks. The colour scheme remains the same, the gauntlets and tiara are present, the basic elements are all there. Believe me when I say I went through various designs trying to be more faithful to the whole 'star spangled swimsuit' look, it's just didn't work, I believe I went further than most would in terms of thinking up this design. Could it work? Possible, but I've yet to see any artwork or concept designs which prove to me otherwise.

Don't think this has been posted yet

IESB (http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4742&Itemid=99) reports Joel Silver is still developing a solo Wonder Woman movie with writers Brent Strickland and Matthew Jennison. When Robert Sanchez asked him about a director he only said that Andy Wachowski had a good opening for the film but wouldn't actually mention any preference for the chair.

Curiously, Silver said this Wonder Woman and the one in the Justice League movie would be independent of each other creatively. The comments were made at the Speed Racer press junket where Silver was supposed to have told Devin Faraci of Chud that Justice League had been tabled.

Silver described the project as being "tabled for a while now," but added that he is still determined to find a way to make it work. "It's sitting there, and when I figure out a way to do it, I'll do it," he said. --Cindy White

If he hasn't already Silver should read WW: Gods and Mortals.

As well as asking George Perez and Greg Rucka about the franchise while he's at it. Both of them could give him interesting ideas on how to approach the material since they've already proven they know how to make the character work. At the very least they'll offer alternatives to what he's heard before.

Hey, at least Silver made some sort of headline about it this week, it's something I suppose! As for Smulders, not sure how serious Whedon was in wanting her, he was reportedly joking but something tells me there may have been an element of truth about it, I agree she wouldn't have been a bad choice, although I don't think she would have been as warmly accepted by WW fans somehow.

Silver bought the WW rights after they audience tested the first matrix movie. Trinity got big poz numbers, bigger than any other character in the movie. He wanted to make a trinity movie, but the character was needed for the sequels. So he looked around for a female character that he could remake into Trinity. Enter wonder woman. He's NEVER wanted to make a WW movie. He wanted to make a trinity flick with another character.

This film has been in production for over ten years now. It's been mostly an embarrassment. The closest it came to being made was during Rucka's run. Sandra Bullock was almost signed. She wanted to make a WW movie that wasn't really WW. She refused to wear the costume, which was fine by silver because he wanted her in a Matrix style costume anyway. The story was this...Donna Troy lives in San Francisco. She wakes up one day to the realization that she's developing super=powers. She goes looking for answers. She finds her mom's hidden sanctuary in a snow covered mountain. Inside are costumes and artifacts left behind by Wonder Woman when she was killed fighting some villains (in a scene right out of James Bond). She dons black leather and starts calling herself Wonder Woman after her dead mother. She finds the creep her killed her mom. But guess what? Mom's not dead! So, in the end, daughter and mom team up, fight the baddie and win. THIS is the script that silver green-lighted. Warner Brothers approved it!!! They sent word down to DC that Rucka's scripts had to be heavily monitered, and his scripts and storylines were CENSORED so that nothing "controversial" might affect the box office of this big hit movie that was going to be made. They made Rucka's life HELL. The WB censored complete BS stuff. when Veronica Cale is taking apart Diana's book, she starts pointing out contraversial stuff in the book they can use against her. Cale mentions that diana says she's pro-gay marriage equality. The WB said NO WAY. Too controversial. So it was excised from the script.

Meanwhile, Bullock lost interest and changed her mind. the movie fell through.

Before Bullock's involvement, things were much worse. At one point Silver's people considered MADONNA for the role. Mariah Carrey was tested for it. Silver's people wanted a bona fide star in the lead, and weren't even considering anyone else. Catherine Zeta Jones expressed an interest, if Michael douglas could play Steve Trevor. But they wanted to make a fun action flick (closer to the tv series) and silver told them no. George Miller expressed an interest in making the flick, but he wanted to set it in World War 2...Silver told him no. Ivan reitman, who owned the rights for ten years prior to Silver, supposedly had a great script set in world war 2, but Reitman had trouble finding an actress he liked to play Diana. He chose Lucy Lawless, and Lawless almost took the part, but she was in the middle of making Xena and was afraid it would mean too much trime away from her kids. That killed that project. When silver bought the rights he was offered reitman's script...which he declined because he wanted a futuristic Matrix-y movie.

So this movie has a HORRIBLE history. Pray with every fiber of your being that silver never gets to make it.

Oh yeah...Silver has the full rights (which WB doesn't really do anymore). But he can nix all other WW projects. Including animation. The Smallville producers have repeatedly tried to get permission to use her on their show, but Silver won't allow it. They eventually wanted to make a young WW series, but it can't happen because Silver refuses to allow anyone to use her. Frankly I'm suprised he allowed her to be used in the JLA movie (although he was apparently hoping it'd be a hit so he could spring off of that).

Found this on the DC Comics official forums.

I've heard a bit about Bullock when it was happening but not the details in the story just that she didn't wanted to wear the costume. I'm glad that didn't end up getting made.

Does anybody know if these subjects about WW are true?

5' 7½" (1.71 m) is what IMDBhas her height listed as (I really don't care cuz she's hot as a fresh pancake!).

smulders would have to go to the tanning bed to be WW, but she's a solid choice

At 5' 9" (1.75 m)< she definitely has the height and the build. Good choice. I didn't even know who she was till I googled her.

^ Didn't realize she was that tall , as for her build, whilst she's a good body type, she'd still need to tone up somewhat, she hasn't got much definition.

Alana De La Garza from Law & Order would be a great WW too, imo. She's 5'9" as well.

Alright guys cut the crap! EVERYTIME you guys mention a woman I go look and find her to be as hot or hotter than the one before! Alana De La Garza is Fuego! How is a man to make up his mind?

Thanks for adding Morena, Lobo! :yay: But for some reason I can't vote on the poll?

Morena is one of the prettiest women I've ever seen, and her face would be great for Diana, but she is very thin to be playing WW. She would need to add a lot of muscle. Isn't she also short?

Her body is lean, but if she works on her torso, mostly shoulders and arms, and builds up her chest muscles she'd be good to go as Diana. At least IMHO.

And as for height, Morena is already pretty tall for a woman at 5' 7½"/5' 8", but they can make her taller just by giving her some WalkTall Shoes http://www.walktallshoes.com/. They can increase her height up to 2.75". That would make her more then 5'10".

I'll add it. But how would you all feel if I closed this thread and started a new one with the poll names above and made it multiple choice?
