The first scene was freakin' classic, it was like the comics really came to life.
"Who-What are you?"
"I'M BATMAN!"

The museum scene, just cause The Joker got to show how insane he was and any scene he's in is classic
I personally like the Axis-Chemical shoot-out scene, because:
1."Oh My God!" exclaims Gordon as he lays eyes on Batman for the first time.
2.Batman scares the $h!t out of Jack Napier
3.Fat-@$$, Lt. Eckhardt is killed :D
4.Jack falls into the vat of Acid/ His hand comig out of the water was so good, it was scary!

Hi everybody, I'm new to the hype.
Anyway, my favorite part of the movie is whats in my signature. Thats one of the greatest dramatic scenes I've ever seen. The whole thing about how Batman and the Joker are each other's creations is really interesting.
My runner up though, is when Vale and the other reporter guy are checking out Bruce's background, reading about his parents being killed right in front of him, and he says something like "I wonder what something like that does to a kid." ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC LINE.

My vote was for The Jokers first appearance, that was such a kick ass cool looking costume.the costume designer for this movie was one intelligent and brilliant person. She made Kim Basinger more gorgeous than any of her other films ever because of the wardrobe she had.:)
Bob Ringwood did the Batman/Joker Costumes
Mr Parker
08-24-2003, 03:35 PM
Oh,usually its women who do the wardrobes in films,my mistake.
No, you're partially correct. While Ringwood designed the Male Costumes, Linda Hendrikson worked on Ms. Basigner's wardrobe.

I really liked the scene where Joker is throwing all the money and batman is coming to save the city from the toxic gas. Especially when Joker says," HE STOLE MY BALOONS!!!" and then he asks his freind for the gun and shoots him. Completely Hilarious. I really like the batwing when it goes all the way up and you see it in the moon. Forming the batman sign. Really awesome.

I love the scene at the end where Batman is standing on one of the tallest buildings surveying thet bat symbol which signifies gotham's trust in its new hero. The begining of an era.........
I voted for Batman's first appearance, but I also loved the museum rescue. Especially when they're running out;
Batman: Get in the car!
Vicki: which one
She turns and sees the Batmobile, music cues, the top slides open, CLASSIC!!
Plus, you can't go wrong with the alley fight. Batman takes on multiple thugs and goes toe to to with a ninja!(he's not dressed as a ninja, but it's better than saying philipino sword guy). And then just kicked him in the face!! My dad loves that scene!
Two-Face

I like the scene where Joker says " Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
Evil Dead 13
04-29-2004, 02:46 AM
The first three scenes mentioned knock my socks off. Figure it's a good introduction to the main characters. I mean, first off, you see Batman kicking butt. And, all things considered, there's nothing cooler than that.
And then, I just think Jack Nicholson did a fantastic job as Jack Napier in the Axis shootout scene. I mean, he's fidgety, and then shocked, and then spooked and then egotistical, and then vengeful, and then--dead, kinda. And the first appearance of The Joker--well, it's just quality.
And of course the Batwing against the moon is snazzy as hell. (It's also on the cover of Danny's score--Eeee)!
Rocky Batboa

the best scene for me was with the two thugs at the beginning, where Batman beats them up, and spooks them. Wonderful..
"don't kill me....don't kill me, dude...."
"I'm not going to kill you. I want you to do a favor for me. I want you to tell all your friends about me.
"Who...who are you...?"
"I'm Batman."
But another scene i liked a lot (which wasn't listed on the poll--they're are so many good scenes) was the drive to the Batcave with batman and vicky vale.
Where she keeps peering at him...and then asks him, "Where are we going?", and he just ingores her, and keeps putting lights into her eyes. I thought that scene worked very well, especially with the danny elfman music in the background.
Also, with the Joker, where he's watching the tv, and the reporters keep talking about Batman, and Joker smashes the tv with the boxing glove gizmo, and he says: "Batman! Batman! Can somebody tell me what kind of world we live in, where a man...dressed like a bat!...gets all my press. This town needs an enenema! (who-hoo , woo-hoo)

Mine HAS to be when Batman and Vicki Vale are in the Batcave and he's explaining the Joker's plan to her and Vicki says:
"You know...a lot of people think you're as bad as The Joker."
Then Batman says the most hilariously ironic thing ever.
"Ha. He's psychotic."
That makes me laugh everytime even though it's intended to be a deep look into Bruce's mind. The pot is truly calling the kettle black.

Okay, okay, INNOCENT people!(although that scene in particular could easily been construed as wreckless endangerment, since people were stil on the streets, trying to flee the sceen.)
Another favorite scene of mine, that isn't listed, is the Joker commercial. It's just set up so beautifully, with the newscaster busting out in laughter and falling out of her seat with a big Joker grin on her face. Then Joker comes on, acting like a nut(how else would he act?! Buh dum bum, Ching!), with that cheery fifties music on, sounding like an educational film, and he's got the cardboard cutouts of the dead models!!
'I know you're wondering, where do I get these fine new items. Well that's the gag, folks! Chances are, you've bought 'em already!' And THAT, I think is classic Joker, for anyone who says the character in the film isn't faithful to the comics. He proves himself to not only be a certifiable nutjob, and a murderer for the sake of his own amusement, but also that he's intelligent.

Grissom: Jack, maybe we could cut a deal.
Joker: Jack? Jack's dead, my friend. From now on you can call me...

Batman '89 features the series as a whole's best fight sequence: the one with Batman and the lead henchman in the belfry (yes, the sweaty black guy). Just awesome, pulse-pounding brutal stuff. To think that Batman could get his ass kicked so very royally and yet come back and still retain his badass cred.

Actually I think my favorite part was towards the end when Batman confronts Joker. Just the dialouge and the tone of the scene was cool.
Batman: You killed my parents.
Joker: Wha? What are you talking about?
Batman: I made you * points to Joker*, you made me first *points back to himself.
Joker: Hey, Bat-Brain. I was a kid when I killed your parents. When I say I made you, you gotta say you made me. I mean, how childish can you get, huh?
*Joker puts on Glasses*
Joker: You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya?
*Batman punches Joker over the side of the Cathedral*
Yeah, that scene was pretty awesome, I also like this one:
Joker: Gotham City...always brings a smile to my face
*Joker looks at Newspaper*
Joker: "Winged Freak,...Terrorizes..." Wait'll they get a load a me! WHOOOO....WHOOP...WHOOP...HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!

I adore the first scene....I'm a complete sucker for the classic hero entrance and this was about as good as it gets. The overhead shot looking down at Batman's shadow looked like it had been pulled straight from The Bat Whispers, which I thought was kinda neat too.
Also, and I know this hardly sets me apart from the crowd, but pretty much any scene with Jack is bang on the money.

my favorite part is at the end, on the cathedral.
Joker: "Beauty and the beast."
Joker: "Mind you, anyone else calls you beast, I'll rip their lungs out"
that is classic joker.
and the dialouge between batman and joker is very deep and dramatic. but the part that really gave me that uber-cool shiver down my back was when batman is looking out on the city with the signal in the sky at the end. the victorious elfman music really made that scene awesome. best superhero movie ever.

no man, the best seen is when that Batmobile shows up for the first time
"get in the Car"
"Which Car"
the batmobile's cockpit slids open
man thats classic. awsome car
How could I forget to post my altime favorite scene from Batman?
The music builds up slowly. We see the Batmobile cruising down a back road in the woods.
Vicki: Where are we going?
Batman points ahead. He looks at Vicki, and smiles slightly. Batman presses harder on the gas. The Batman theme swells to life as the Batmobile streaks towards the audience. A barrage of scenes as the Batmobile blazes through the road.
Vicki tries to get a closer look at Batman's face. Seeing this, Batman turns on a single light, keeping Vicki at bay. Vikci screams as the Batmobile hits, but miraculously goes through, a stone wall. Vicki looks back to see the wall slide back into place as the Batman theme booms loudly and ends just as the Batmobile cruises to a stop.
I LOVE that scene!!! The music is Track 10 on the Batman score: "Descent into Mystery"

Favourite scene in '89?
When Batman stands out in the alley with the remote and calls the Batmobile.
"Car", he says into the remote and, many miles away, the great black behemoth drops it's shields and roars to life. It barrels through the city until it finds it's master.
Batman steps into the path of the great black charging monster and whispers into the remote again, saying only "Stop".
The Batmobile slams to a halt mere inches from it's dark master.
I love that scene.
The rooftop 'I'm Batman' scene ranks second to that for me.

zeros the sights on the Joker, who is standing, arms
outstretched, in the middle of the Avenue.
EXT. ANGLE ON BATWING WEAPONS - MOMENT LATER
Batman OPENS UP with everything, and we see the GATLING,
MISSILES and LASER EXPLODE INTO ACTION.
EXT. ANGLE ON JOKER - MOMENT LATER
A rocket, bullets, and the laser beam SMASH into the
street, all around the Joker. He leaps, LAUGHING, into
the air and, miraculously, avoids being hit.
ANGLE ON BATWING - MOMENT LATER
The Batwing levels in for the kill, GUNS, MISSILES,
LASER, all BLASTING away.
ANGLE ON JOKER - THAT MOMENT
The Joker sneers and starts to draw a gun from his belt.
But he goes on drawing it. On and on. Finally, he bran-
dishes the entire weapon. It's a very long barrel.
The Joker takes aim. The GUN GOES OFF WITH A GREAT
EXPLOSION and a tongue of flame. The recoil throws the
Joker backwards.
INT. BATWING COCKPIT - MOMENT LATER
The cockpit begins to fill with smoke, blinding Batman.
The ENGINES COUGH AND CUT OUT.
Or
JOKER
(through microphone)
Now comes part where I relieve you,
the little people, of the burden
of your failed and useless lives.
But as my plastic surgeon always
said, when you got to go, go with
a SMILE!
Joker takes a remote control device from under his
throne, points it up at the balloons and presses a
trigger.
ANGLE ON GIANT BALLOON - THAT MOMENT
The hanging tanks begin to release gas into the balloons
in response to the Joker's switch. The balloon swells.
ANGLE ON JOKER - MOMENT LATER
Bob gives a gas mask to Joker and puts one on himself.
The Joker SCREAMS WITH LAUGHTER and puts his gas mask on.
The CROWD PANICS AND TRIES DESPERATELY TO ESCAPE.
ANGLE ON BALLOON - THAT MOMENT
The BALLOON SKIN stretches and CREAKS. A bulge develops
along one of the seams.
ANGLE ON CROWDS IN BROAD AVENUE - THAT MOMENT
PEOPLE panicking to get away before the balloons burst.
ANGLE ON JOKER - THAT MOMENT
Joker LAUGHS behind his gas mask.
A Masterpiece.

The one scene where Batman looks just kick ass, is when he's at Axis and he's flying down with his wings spread to stop Jack.

The Flugelheim Museum/Batman to the rescue. Batman crashing through the skylight and saving Vicki was too cool! The first "I'm Batman" scene comes in a close second.  All of the scenes are great actually!:)

Journey Into Mystery, when Batman is dricing Vicki to the Batcave. Summed up everything that is great about the original Batman concept.

Sorry to nit-pick (even though this was posted last year :woot: ) ...Descent Into Mystery...
But I agree.
Easily the best track of Elfman's score as well.

The introduction of Batman hands down. I love how the two thugs are unaware that Batman is behind them. As soon as they turn around, their asses started moving! Classic scene.
The next scene would be the introduction of the Joker. "Jack is dead my friend, but you can call me.....Joker. And as you can see, I'm a lot happier. HEHEHEHE!"
Nuff said.
The third scene for me would be the museum scene. I like when Vicki splashes Joker with water and he starts screaming in pain, but immediately turns around to reveal his true self and says "BOOO! HEHEHEHAHAHA!" Batman immediately crashes through the window to save the day and the Joker is stunned when he uses the grapple gun to get to safety. "Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
That's all for now.
