What about the buildup to Piper's and Hart's IC title match at WrestleMania 7? Their interview with Mean Gene where it ended with them squaring off made that the match I wanted to see.
And how Hart scored the pin on Piper was classic. Never saw it coming. Still a personal favorite match of mine.

How about when Mr. Perfect revealed himself to be Macho Man's Tag Team partner against Razor Ramon/Ric Flair? To see Mr. Perfect come out of retirement and hear the classic theme music was amazing.
That was surprising to me because I never thought Perfect would ever be a face. He was a heel for such a long time than when he turned, I didn't believe it at first...

Wrestlemania 8 my friend. ;) Wrestlemania 7 was the classic with Macho Man vs. Ultimate Warrior(Career Match) and Hogan vs. Sgt. Slaughter.
WM8 match with Hart getting busted open and having a gritty classic battle with Piper was and still is great. Love the match as it showed Piper could put on a great bout.

Get toilet paper thrown at you. It started in ROH, and now wherever he goes it happens to him. Part of his gimmick.
From WWE.com:
The legend of all legends Hulk Hogan will be coming to Monday Night RAW. Last week, at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Hogan accepted a friendly challenge for SummerSlam against Randy Orton. However, later that night the Legend Killer showed his true colors when he hit the Hulkster with an unsuspecting RKO on the truck of his own car. Will Hogan be able to wait until SummerSlam to settle the score?
Well, that sucks.
I'm sure Hogan will continue to get pummeled by Orton....but if they're not careful, Hogan may show up at the wrong venue and get the pattended Cena half boo/cheer.

Generic themes just don't kick when it comes to your main eventers now, it seems. I don't know why, though. If the theme is made right, it will work.
Steve Austin, the Rock, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, the Big Show before his recent theme change, they all worked. And if you look at the themes, they all have something in common. And unique opening.
Shattering glass; the crashing car; a countdown; a spoken phrase.
If other themes nowadays had that, we might not thing that Lashley's and Gymini's themes sound the same.

Yeah, the WWE usually does that with every main eventer. With Batista's, you can hear the opening riff that signals he's coming out. It gives that recognizability factor so that as soon as you hear the opening, you know it's that wrestler coming out.
Even midcarders have them, Carlito with his spit, Finlay announcing he loves to fight, Kennedy, well that one's obvious, Chavo had his female lead in at one point (another song I really enjoyed), hell, masters even had his painfully long intro, and their themes work for them. It should be done for more wrestlers who need that type of boost they need to make an impact with the crowd.

YouTube sued over copyright infringement
By Greg Sandoval, CNET News.com

A journalist and well-known helicopter pilot in Los Angeles has filed suit against video-sharing site YouTube, claiming that it encouraged users to violate copyright law.
Robert Tur says video he shot of the beating of trucker Reginald Denny during the 1992 Los Angeles riots was posted at YouTube without his permission and viewed more than 1,000 times. Tur says in his lawsuit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court, that YouTube is profiting from his work while hurting his ability to license his video.
"Mr. Tur's lawsuit is without merit," YouTube said in a statement. "YouTube is a service provider that complies with all the provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and therefore is entitled to the full protections of the safe harbor provisions of the Act."
Passed in 1998 to protect copyright holders from technology that facilitated piracy, the DMCA also offered protection to Web service providers by limiting their liability in cases where their customers were found guilty of copyright violation.
Those in the video-sharing sector have for months expected someone to challenge YouTube in court. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company lets users post videos to its site without prescreening them, and a staggering amount of copyright video exists on the site. YouTube prohibits the uploading of such material but has also benefited in the past when someone has posted a professionally made clip that catches fire with the public.
Earlier this year, a skit from "Saturday Night Live," called "Lazy Sunday" drew large audiences to YouTube's site and generated lots of media attention before the company pulled the clip at the request of NBC.
Since learning of Tur's suit, YouTube has removed his clip, the company said in its statement. Tur didn't ask that the company remove the clip prior to filing his suit, YouTube said.
Tur is asking the court for $150,000 per violation and an injunction barring any further use of his material.

Even looking at it, the WWE changed up a few WCW themes to have that air of recognizability as well:
-Ric Flair's legendary theme had a "WHOOOOOO" added to it.
-Booker T's theme had "Can you Dig it, Suck?" added
-Scott Steiner's had "Holla if you hear me" added
That is a good song, when he was using it and when Eddy was using it. One of the better songs in general.
Hopefully Chavo's hair will grow back already and come back to the ring.

At least they still use Booker's Harlem Heat them, although I thought it worked fine with the normal intro. But the "Can you dig it, sucka?" is not a bad touch.
I never liked the "WHOOOOO!" before Flair's theme, that would be like adding an "OH YEAH!" in front of Savage's theme (which was another classic I enjoyed).

-ECW on Sci-Fi ratings break down as follows:
11:00 to 11:15 - 2.2
11:15 to 11:30 - 2.1
11:30 to 11:45 - 2.0
11:45 to 12:00 - 2.0
Overrun - 2.3
The overrun, which appears to be factored into the rating, pulled the rating up to the reported 2.2.
------------
-Many within the WWE, after the lower than expected ratings of Saturday Night's Main Event, realize that the show's rating may have dwindled due to the excessive amount of WWE material on television these days (RAW on Monday, ECW on Tuesday, and Smackdown on Friday).

Themeaddict only has a few good songs worth mentioning. Evolution, a great remix of Taker's, and Christian's. Everything else sucks.
Always loved Christian's themes since he went solo. TNA has not been able to catch the flare that Waterproof Blonde's theme had.

Forceable Entry has a lot of good ones on it. Raven's, Triple H's old Drowning Pool one, Austin's version when he was heel, and quite a few others.

- Kevin Von Erich was asked to be involved in an angle on Saturday Night's Main Event, but turned it down. He would have gotten some mic time had he agreed to the angle. Instead, he just came out and waved to the crowd during the event.
- Last week, Brooke and Hulk Hogan were in studio for an interview with a Dallas radio station promoting her new song (since they were in town for Saturday Night's Main Event). They were talking about her and Hulk being nominated for some People's Choice Awards, which will be given out Aug 20. Hulk said that he wouldn't be able to attend the awards show because he would be wrestling at Summerslam that night.
'ey, Hogan actually mentioned wrestling in public.

To add on to an earlier subject, imagine how shocking it would've been if Bret Hart and Sting formed the nWo with Hall and Nash like WCW originally wanted?
Thanks to PWI for the following:
There's been a lot of talk internally in WWE about the dismal Saturday Night's Main Event rating. On a show when they gave the fans the return of Hulk Hogan and Batista's first match back from injury, the company expected to better last March's 3.1. Instead, they dropped a half of a point. Many people in the company realize that there is just too much first run wrestling on TV right now for SNME to mean what it did in the Nielsens 15 years ago. The business has changed and the concept of SNME just doesn't mean what it did back then.
On the other hand, I was told that both WWE and Sci Fi management were very happy with this week's 2.2 cable rating, given that the show aired an hour later than usual due to the two hour debut of "Eureka", Sci Fi's new series that preceded it. It's interesting to note in the quarter hours that the Undertaker's match didn't draw as well as you would expect, at least until the overrun. The show started at a 2.2, then dropped to a 2.1. The 10:30 and 10:45 quarters, the latter of which was the Taker vs. Big Show match, both drew a 2.0. The show would have done 2.1, which it did for the hour, except that the 2.3 overrun brought it up a tenth of a point. By comparison, the programming that was airing in ECW's slot before the show debuted was averaging less than a 1.0 so ECW on Sci Fi certainly seems like a success.
Christopher Read sent this one. ... I thought I'd shed a little insight as to how bad this deal with the Score channel is for us Canuck Raw fans. It's bad enough that it will be delayed an hour, but I am not sure you have seen the Scores presentation of all of their programming. The Score delivers a ticker at the bottom of the screen that is on through 100% of their programming, INCLUDING commercials. The most major drawback to that fact is that said ticker takes up close to 20% of the screen. I wouldn't be this adamant about it, but another problem lies in the fact that they don't chop off the bottom 20% of the picture, they compress the image, so all the wrestlers look fat and stubby. Way to go, WWE. No spin, no agenda, just some facts... Ratings in Canada will drop. I guarantee it.
Eric Draven
07-21-2006, 07:16 PM
They're making that ticker out to be more than it should. I barely notice it when SD airs. And this deal is better because, despite the one hour delay, it's guaranteed that it'll be on the same time each Monday. Unlike what's going on right now where I can unexpectedly see Raw getting delayed every now and then, which pisses me off.
And now that Raw and SD are on the same channel, they're going to dedicate at least one hour each Sunday for analysis of how Canadian wrestlers do each week. I like the sounds of that
Basically, that person sounds like he's nitpicking...:o
What the hell is happening on Smackdown? I'm stuck with watching the Yankees get crushed by you damn Canadians. (When the game is over I'll stop hating them.)

Lashley Off PPV; Title Match Changed
From WWE.com:
As first reported on WWE Mobile Alerts, Bobby Lashley is unable to compete in this Sunday's Great American Bash. WWE physician Dr. Ferdinand Rios told WWE.com, "During his annual exam, Bobby Lashley was found to have elevated enzymes of the liver; therefore, he is not cleared to wrestle until further evaluation." As a result of this breaking news, the Triple Threat Match for the United States Championship at The Great American Bash has changed. U.S. Champion Finlay will now defend the gold against William Regal in a one-on-one match.

Oh well, Finlay/Regal has potential to be a classic, so I'm not complaining too much.

Any way to share that match with the rest of us?
And they did give Benoit/Finlay from a few months ago 20 minutes, so this match could go the same length. I'm looking forward to their one on one as well, hope to see it. And hope to finally Benoit/Finlay eventually.
Found this on another forum:
It was earlier reported that the Spirit Squad will be broken up soon. While it's completely up in the air for most of the members, the future of Ken Doane looks very bright as management has high hopes for the twenty year old who they hope to mold into the next big superstar given his in-ring skill, look, and young age, mostly the latter two.
While Miz would appear to be completely messing up his time in the spotlight right now, WWE remains high on him due to his charisma and his connection with the women demographic and after the Diva Search is over, there is a big push in store for The Miz. While he is not currently wrestling nor has he on WWE TV yet, he is still actively wrestling in Ohio Valley Wrestling where he is in a program with CM Punk.
Credit to Bryce Yang: Bill Goldberg was on KROQ in Los Angeles to promote the MMA PPV this Saturday from the WFA organization. On wrestling, he said he didn't appreciate it before he got into it and he was one of those athletes who looked down upon it. However, he said he owes everything to people in WCW who made him, especially all the people who made him a star and put him over. He then said he owes everyone in the business for his success except for Vince McMahon whom he called "a piece of crap" and "a prick."

Mike Johnson ( http://www.pwinsider.com ) reports that the match on Smackdown a few weeks back when Finlay defeated Bobby Lashley for the US Championship, was originally supposed to have a DQ finish according to the show's format and Lashley would have kept his title. When that format was changed and Finlay won, the locker room began speculating that Lashley may soon be pulled from the road. Yesterday, WWE announced that Lashley had been pulled from action due to increased liver enzymes. It is believed that Lashley's increased liver enzymes was found in their wellness testing propgram. According to atleast one medical source: enzyme increases in the liver can be brought on by a number of possible factors including excessive use of vitamin supplements and certain herbal supplements, certain medications (including certain anti-inflammatory drugs, cholesterol-lowering medications, antibiotics and anti-seizure medications), excessive drinking of alcohol, obesity, diabetes, or an infection brought about by certain diseases.

Nothing wrong with 'by the by' I hear it used all the time. And all the o's in down were because of how I'm gonna own Sephiroth. Just like Steiner owned Joe with that table!"By the by" is never used, ever. Maybe only from you Texans.
You can't own Sephiroth. He owns you. And Joe didn't get owned. He got right up. More like how those steroids owned Steiner.
