It just seems most of them cheer whatever their told to,i wonder if the crowd will be mixed at Summerslam,As for Cena? *sighs* i just can't see anything good about him,he seems to be regressing to cheap pop tricks on the mic and is rehashing the Austin/Mcmahon angle with Bischoff
Initially, a lot of people liked Cena because of his rapping. But that was back when his raps were actually good. That was probably the first sign that the WWE saw that they had a potential new main event superstar in their hands. I think it was the fans that turned John Cena heel, and not the WWE. It's just too bad that they had to pussy out Cena so much though.....:(

Pretty much. Their CW division is dead, and now he's going to have to wrestle a neutered wrestling style. His finishing move is what? A perfect-plex now? Sad. What's even sadder is how they make their cruiserweights wrestle like heavyweights. I can't for the life of me understand why Kazarian defected. AJ Styles said on BWR that TNA would take him back in a heart beat. He and Shane were working great as a tag team, they could've been tag champs, but he left Shane high and dry.
We're waiting Frankie.
The reason why Kazarian signed with the WWE is pretty simple: Money. Plain and simple. I'm betting that Kazarian is going to be getting a substantial more money in the WWE than he is getting in the TNA, even if he does become a Velocity mainstay. I think to many wrestlers, getting to the WWE is going to be their goal. That's the biggest stage in wresting (in America) that they can perform from. I bet if the majority of the wrestlers in TNA were given a contract to the WWE, they would take it in a heartbeat. Seriously.
Look at RVD. He was being wasted in the WWE and when his contract was up, he could've said "**** it" and signed with a different promotion. But guess what? He re-signed with the WWE. Chris Jericho will most likely sign another contract with the company as well.
Unless TNA is willing to give contracts with the same value as the WWE, I'm afraid they'll just continue to have to make do with the "scraps" of the WWE.....:(

Well I'll be at Comic Con this weekend so no. Also, my apartment complex gives us expanded cable but NOT PPV.
www.411wrestling.com gives great live PPV updates for WWE and TNA.

Well you know, a lot of great wrestlers like Kazarian thought the same thing, and WWE ****ed them over. TNA is in a transitional period right now, they are trying to get a new TV deal and they are rebuilding. They probably can't offer the contracts like WWE does, but their schedule isn't as intense, and they let the wrestlers work the independent federations instead of wrestling for TNA exclusively. As of late, TNA has locked up AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels, their 2 best wrestlers/performers in long term contracts.
AJ Styles said he once got an offer from WWE, and it didn't work at all. He pointed out that for WWE wrestlers have to pay for their airline tickets, their hotel rooms, and everything else. TNA has a place for their workers to stay, and provides them bed and board. And he also gets to work the indy feds, so for him and his family, working for TNA was the better deal.
WWE might be the bigger stage, but its overrated, and at least in TNA, the wrestlers can perform at their full potential.

RVD is still being wasted as far as I'm concerned. Moving him back to RAW was also a mistake. He should've come back to Smackdown and started feuding with either Mysterio or Benoit, fighting for the US (God knows that division needs some legitimacy from slugs like Big Show and Orlando Jordan) title or the world title.
Right now, TNA is using the wrestlers I'm excited about, and their PPV's deliver on a level far above WWE has been lately. So now, I'm watching TNA.

Yeah, TNA is in a transition period right now, and I honestly don't see them being any real competition for the WWE for another 5 years at most. And this is provided they do get the tv deal with Spike TV. Look at WCW. How long did it take for them to actually beat out WWE in the ratings? At least they're ahead of ROH though.....
And yeah, the WWE may be a bit overrated, but I'm sure it's any wrestler's dream to perform at the big stage. It's like the CFL and NFL. Sure a football player may be utilized better and may be a bigger star at the CFL. But that football player would jump at the chance if he were offered an NFL contract.

Yeah, I'm watching TNA a bit more these days and I am enjoying it. And it can only get better with Dusty out as booker. That means no more main event pushes for old slugs like Kevin Nash and no more pushes for his son, Dustin. I also like that the main event now consists of not only Jeff Jarrett, but guys like Raven, Abyss, and Monty Brown.

The thing is, I don't feel the WWE is the NFL, or whatever. Right now its just trash. Their recent antics even more symbolic of that.
All I'm saying is the notions of performing on the big stage isn't real and its overrated. All these talented performers that just got fired are NOT singing those praises anymore. And where do these guys want to go to now? TNA.
John Constantine
07-13-2005, 06:39 PM
That's because they really have no choice where to go to anymore. I mean the WWE doesn't want them anymore. Where else can they go? ROH? That's like at the TNA level except it's even lower (IMO). Japan? Sure that can mean more money, but that also means performing in front of an entirely different stage. TNA is really the only choice for most of these wrestlers.
And sure, most of these wrestlers are not singing the praises of the WWE, but if the WWE changed their minds and decided to offer them a contract again, you honestly think they won't take it? Look at Matt Hardy, even he re-signed with the WWE and he had a chance to go to TNA. Hell, he was almost confirmed for No Surrender this Sunday....

Anyone read that Charlie Haas interview? you guys will be pissed
Apparently, Haas, kurt Angle, and Shelton Benjamin made suggestions that Haas should feud with one of them. Shelton suggested Haas come to raw to have the benjamin fued. Haas suggested that he should be apart of the "Kurt Angle invataional" match. There was also an idea that Haas and Benoit could fight for "Most technical wrestler on smackdown".
Guess what? the writers shut him down, apparently because if its not their idea, they wont use it. He also says the writers dont know anything about wrestling.

I read that on the Chris Jericho Message Forum. He mentions that the writers are yes-men and that's what Vince wants.
Vince doesn't truly care about wrestling. He has said from the very beginning he's into Sports Entertainment, which is really sad and that's what makes me miss WCW/ECW being on tv the most.
If TNA can eventually get on Spike TV and slowly, but surely develop themselves into a threat that will make the WWE open their eyes and produce better material, then that's exactly what will happen and it's exactly what we need as wrestling fans who appreciate talent and surprises.
Like on RAW seeing Matt Hardy was a big surprise. That was the old WWF/WWE way of surprising people, because no one expected to see Matt Hardy come out and attack Edge, let alone actually appearing before a live audience and television audience.
You know what? Some wrestling fans should infiltrate the Hollywood and claim to hate wrestling, but then get hired by Vince McMahon. Well that won't work, like Charlie Haas said, you have to be a yes man to get on Vince's good side or to even get hired.

Or it could be the impetus to actually have Matt Hardy become a true main-eventer. Sure it may be a long-shot, but with the WWE, you never know sometimes. I mean if you would've told me in 1996 that Mankind would've been a huge star by 2000, I probably would've laughed at you.
And yeah, I doubt Jerry Lynn would go to the WWE. AJ Styles as well. I don't even think Christopher Daniels or AMW will go. But those are the guys who have been TNA mainstays since the start. They probably have a closer bond to the company than a lot of the other wrestlers in the promotion.....

The sad fact is that the reason why Vince wants the WWE to be all about the Sports Entertainment and less about about wrestling is because he wants to reach a bigger market. That's what made people take a long look at the WWF from the start. Because of guys like Hulk Hogan. Hogan is definitely a product of the sports entertainment and less about wrestling.

as i understand the wrestling talent works for the wwe NOT the united paramount network , so i doubt upn has the AUTHORITY to ban mr hassan who btw i understand is NOT really an arab american [though davari is] i agree the segment was awkard all things considered but the show could not have been altered without throwing off the two hour time allotment of the show no i don't care much for the hassan characters attitude however i DO think he waas wrongly suspended from his job don't forget that segment was taped on a MONDAY NIGHT BEFORE THE SUBWAY INCIDENT HAPPEND

Ego H rumor posted below.
Triple H's RAW absence has been the subject of a lot of talk lately. He is supposedly being kept off television for the purpose of selling his 'Hell in a Cell' injuries. However, the word going round at the moment is that he is apparently upset with Hulk Hogan's return to "his program."
One wrestler is quoted saying, "Hunter is so confident in the power and influence he has, he's not all that threatened anymore by anyone, not even Hogan." Consequently by stepping aside for the time being he will be missed, therefore will be appreciated more when he finally returns. The wrestler continues, "It's not like he's worried about losing his spot."
wrestlezone.com
I got this from Chris Jericho's official website, let me say, if this is the case and Ego H is so hurt by having Hogan return and won't show up. Then let me be the first to say, keep Hogan on if it'll keep that big nosed jackass away from RAW.
Sign Hogan to a decent sized contract and have him work, I'm willing to watch Hogan if it keeps Ego H away.
Say what you want about Hogan, but at least he was putting over talent during his last WWE run via nWo and later on as a face.
He cleanly put over The Rock(Rock Bottom/Peoples elbow), Kurt Angle(Tapping out to the ankle lock), and Brock Lesnar(Losing via a bearhug and passing out). Those are losses he would've never given cleanly in his prime, hell, he even cried and complained about jobbing to Sting during Starrcade 1998 if I'm not mistaken.
Hogan seems to have turned over a new leaf, maybe Ego H should take a lesson from him and see that putting over people doesn't hurt.
So like I said, if this is true and comes to light as true, then by all means keep Hogan on TV if it'll keep big nosed Ego H away.

Even with Kane though, they've tried to humanize him as much as possible, as evidenced by him being unmasked. They even humanized Undertaker when they turned him to the biker gimmick.
The only way I could see the Boogeyman gimmick work is if they play him off as just this creepy wrestler.....

Characters like Papa Shango and The Undertaker were, and are still creepy, however, the concept of this "boogeyman" is not even scary and most kids will simply laugh at what he looks like. I expected some guy painted in all black looking scary and downright evil, but, obviously the WWE and their writers fail to create originality or anything that's remotely interesting.

The Papa Shango gimmick scared the piss out of me. As did the Nailz gimmick during the Big Boss Man feud. It was just during those times, the gimmicks were more original and realistic. The Papa Shango gimmick scared the piss out of me. As did the Nailz gimmick during the Big Boss Man feud. It was just during those times, the gimmicks were more original and realistic. Now it's goofy gimmicks and rehashed storylines, as you just mentioned, none of them are really taken seriously except maybe the creepy Eddie gimmick.
Yeah, the Papa Shango gimmick did freak me out as well back then. Particularly when he put the "hex" on Ultimate Warrior. But that could be because I was a little kid and I've never really seen anything like that before.
And I don't really think it's because of the gimmicks being necessarily goofy that they've failed. I mean back then we've had a hog farmer, a mantaur, ricky steamboat dressing up as a literal dragon, a hockey player named the Goon, a baseball played named MVP/Abe "Knuckleball" Shwartz, a bully, A Repo Man, etc. It's just that after the Attitude era, a wrestler was just allowed to be himself and get over without any sort of weird gimmick to make a name. I bet you anything if Kevin Fertig had debuted as Mordecai 5 or 10 years earlier, it would've been a success. The same with boogeyman.

It won't take much for Monty Brown to turn though. Plus, he should've never been a heel from the start. They had him all set to be a major main event face in the company and what happens? They turn him
Besides, a Rhyno-Brown feud might be interesting. The Gore versus the pounce :)

I'd rather the Dudley's feud with AMW. TNA's best tag-team versus one of the greatest tag teams of all-time.
Plus, it allows the DUdleys to complete their domination of the tag-team scene if they were in TNA. They would have the NWA tag titles to go along with their WWF, ECW, and WCW tag-team title reigns

you know what's gonna happen here right? this is the beginning of the next generation of the nWo.
Here's an idea not related to the Hardy angle. This is just a theory, and I could be wrong, but I can see it coming. Mohammad Hassan. I have this feeling that they're going to pull a Nikita Koloff with him. Remember in the early to mid 80s, Nikita Koloff was this bad ass Russian heel, because back then, the Russians were evil villains. Then he became a face wrestler, can't remember the storyline behind his face turn, but he was even better than ever before as a face. I have this feeling that they're gonna try something like this with Hassan. He will be a face by the next Wrestlemania. Mark my words.

I think the reason why Koloff turned was because he formed that tag team with Dusty Rhodes....
But with Hassan, I could've seen that happening.....initially. But after the events of SD a couple weeks back, it seems like they're just trying to play Hassan off as the evil Arab stereotype wrestler.

The hatred against Arab-Americans is so palpable right now I don't how they could make it work. The only way to do it is to team him with a face, and even then there's a 50% chance the face gets booed. It would have to be an alliance with Stone Cold or someone on that level.
