The big deal is that, upto a few months ago, this guy was a jobber. He was'nt on SmackDown on a weekly basis. And now he's the champion? Come on. I understand that they're trying to build the guy, but he's not quite there yet. Giving the belt to Bradshaw on SmackDown is like giving Test the belt on RAW. It just isn't right...Especially when there's guys like Kane, Rob Van Dam, Booker T (among others) busting their asses week after week and get nothing. I just don't get it. This was a HORRIBLE move by the WWE. The worst move since the whole Kane/Kate Vick angle a few years back, and probably the worst decision that has been made when it comes to the WWE title EVER!

But Bradshaw has been in the biz longer than alot of the wrestlers who HAVE become champions. I mean look at Brock Lesnar. Bradshaw was there with his whole cowboy thing, the acolytes, the APA, back to the cowboy thing, and now this stockbroker thing. It feels like he's going nowhere. The guy has always been one of my favorite wrestlers not because of his gimicks, but because he kicks some damn good ass and I say it's about damn time.

I don't think Bradshaw deserves it because he's not a really good wrestler. I liked his millionaire gimmick at first.....until he actually wrestled a match and it just showed him boring as hell again. Plus, the WWE keeps trying to push the guy repeatedly and each time, they've failed because the fans don't really give a **** about him. Oh well, the WWE's always had a hard-on for Bradshaw since 1997....

WRESTLING NEWS:
*SPOILER* - Details On Plans For Major New WWE Character
Story By: Ben Johnson
June 28, 2004
In an effort to prevent another case of ending the push of a wrestler believed to have tons of potential, WWE has new plans for Garrison Cade.
Cade, currently a RAW wrestler, will portray a character that imitates Shawn Michaels. Set to be called "H.B. Cade," the new character will get wrestling gear similar to that of HBK
Live Notes From The Great American Bash: Paul Bearer's Death?
Story By: Keith Wilcutt
June 28, 2004
First, i want to let everyone know that it was not Paul Bearer in the glass case as you can imagine. They have some man with horrible mask and make-up job in the box. That was a huge part of the reason they never showed any true close-ups during the match. The first time Paul Heyman hit the switch to let the cement go into the box it took to long for the truck's barrel to get rolling and nothing happen. The production team automatically showed a shot of Paul Bearer being knee high in cement with honestly not a drop had fallen. Paul Heyman eventually left the truck due to having complications with it so that's part of the reason he was just in the middle of the entrance. The whole time the switch wasn't even on cement continuously flowed into the box.
After the PPV went off the air they immediately opened the box door and all the cement came slipping out. The paramedics had a hard time getting "Paul Bearer" into a stretcher before hauling him off to the back.
During the first Main Event with the bullrope match it they were having some electrical problems. They were testing the lights on each turnbuckle and apparently they were working fine. Some how during the match the person who was suppose to signal the lights for the correct person had a mix up and signed a turnbuckle that JBL never touched. Another turnbuckle throughout the match whenever hit kept continously blinking on and off.

I think I know why Taker "killed" bearer...
Bearer became a liability. Heyman used Bearer to take advantage of Takers power, and Taker dosent want that, so with Bearer gone, no one will be able to take control of him...

Smackdown can improve once they give credit to the guys who should be given credit. Bring back the Hardcore division and put more emphasis on the cruiserweight division...make it extra competitive and spectacular like it was in the WCW days. It's possible...but unfortunately, there are other powers who run the company. They'll just make Smackdown more cheesy and stupid...eventually causing this stupid "separate" brands to end.
Advise for Smackdown? Elevate Booker T and RVD...they are huge key players that could really help Smackdown.

Shelton Benjamin's Injury/Garrison Cade, Nowinski Update
Story By: Ryan Cain
July 01, 2004
(Credit: PWTorch Newsletter)
Word continues to spread that Christopher Nowinski may never be able to wrestle again. This is due to a concussion syndrome.
Shelton Benjamin will remain out of action with a broken bone in his hand. This injury was suffered at the hands of Garrison Cade during a recent match on RAW.
Cade has yet to receive any backstage heat as a result of injuring Benjamin, despite criticisms beforehand of his clumsy wrestling style.
Thanks to Pwinsider.com for the following:
Former Tough Enough winner Linda Miles (Shaniqua), the former manager of the Basham Brother's on Smackdown was recently sent down to OVW so that she could recieve a little more seasoning. However, since being sent down she has butted heads with OVW's Jim Cornette.
Miles & Cornette were involved in a shouting match last week after Miles reportedly "called a horrible" match with Jillian Hall at OVW's TV Taping. The blame of course fell squarely on Miles who then tried to place the blame on other excuses which Cornette would not accept.
Miles ended off being pulled from all the OVW house shows this past weekend and her scheduled match against Victoria at OVW's big Six Flags event was canceled. Miles did return to train this week, but shortly after she arrived she left again. Much of the WWE talent is unhappy with Miles, since she "won" her WWE contract and does not appreciate it.
There has been allot of speculation backstage about Vince McMahon wanting to set up an Eddie Guerrero/Mordecai feud after SummerSlam. It’s been said backstage that Vince is avoiding the fact that Mordecai, who he created, hasn’t really adapted well with the fans.

SMACKDOWN RESULTS BELOW
Angle gloated about doing the right thing at GAB and justice being served
Show starts...
Layfield came in to celebrate his title victory. Ring was laid out with red, white, and blue decorations on the ropes and the canvas was red. Name drops Ronald Reagan, saying its "Morning in America" again and how he'll be a great champion to everyone. Says Angle allowed him to fight anyone who was at the Bash last night, except Eddie Guerrero.
Booker vs. RVD vs. Dupree - winner will be the #1 contender for the U.S. Title. Pretty good spots, with the crowd popping for the Spinaroonie and RVD's first frog splash and Rolling Thunder. Heat was given for the Dupree Shuffle. Finish was RVD hitting his second splash on Dupree (Booker caught one first), but Booker pulled him out the ring and covered Dupree for the win. Kind of a lame finish.
Bradshaw goes into the locker room, and says he picks "a Dudley". Of course, it turns out to be Spike. Cena, Rey, Dudleys (no Spike), and Booker were in the skit.
Luther Raines talks with Charles Robinson and reviews the Sable/Torrie match on a elevision... complains about some kind of controversy. Says if there are any problems with the rematch, there will be trouble.
Torrie beats Sable with a DDT. Terrible match, as you could have expected. Sable didn't wait 3 seconds to sell the DDT or anything. No controversy though. Afterwards, Angle comes on the Titan and says although there were no problems, he couldn't let Raines get away with last night, so he sends Raines to fight him in a match. Raines catches him and starts pounding him until Haas comes out for the save. The funny thing about this is that they did this spot twice. I guess whoever was booking didn't like the first one, so he made them do it over again just before the main event.
Heyman comes out, and gloats about getting the Undertaker to finish off Bearer. Says he is due for a thank you by the Undertaker and he will get that "with interest". Pyro explodes and Undertaker comes up on the Titan and tells Heyman if he's willing to do that to Bearer, the only person he cared about, imagine what he's going to do to him. Heyman acts like a scared rabbit.
Mysterio beats Mordecai - Disappointing, with Mysterio of course on defense most of the time. He did get in the 619, but the crowd didn't pop for it until right after he did it. Finish was Mordecai going for that Razor's Edge/crucifix bomb, but Rey was able to turn
it into the hurricanrana for the win. Is that his first loss?
The Dudleys talk to Spike. They accuse Spike of doing something to get the shot. They say they have his back, because they are family, and they "know" if he wins the title he's going to give one of them the first title shot. Spike says he'd rather do it on his own.
Kenzo Suzuki comes out, yells some jibberish in Japanese with the crowd saying "what" after every pause, then Cena comes out. He clowns him and his valet for a while, then has production replay the promo bit by bit and attempts to translate. Mostly gutter humor, talking about constipation and how Kenzo likes going to gay nude beaches. Funny spot on the valet, translating one statement as Kenzo taking her to see "White Girls" (clowning her because of all the white makeup on her face). Crowd loved it, but I doubt if it goes over on TV that well.
Main event...of course Bradshaw squashed Spike. Spike got in some offense, with the stomps in the corner and the Dudley Dog, which got a 2 count the crowd popped over, but Bradshaw gave him two short clotheslines (ala Jake Roberts) and a power bomb.
As soon as the bell rang, Eddie's music came up and he came to the ring. They fought, and Bradshaw bailed. Before he got back into his car, Eddie told him to hold on, and informed him that he had a clause in his contract when he won the WWE title saying he gets a rematch of a match of HIS choosing, and it will be a cage match in two weeks. Bradshaw ranting as the show ends.
After the show, Eddie left and Bradshaw came back out, called Eddie a "stupid Hispanic punk" or something like that, and clowned the crowd for a while for trailer parks and confederate flags. Typical stuff.
He challenged Eddie or anyone else to come from the back to face him so he'd kick his ass and the Undertaker came out with a loud pop. Once Taker got in the ring, Bradshaw played scared and tried to talk himself into fighting him, saying he was a Hardcore Champion and was a tough guy. Finally he tried to fake getting out the ring and tried to hit Taker, Taker blocked it, hit him a few times, chokeslam, and eventually the Tombstone. Taker then grabbed the title and laid it on Bradshaw and left. Bradshaw got
up after Taker left, doing a little selling, clowned the fans again, and left.

I'm going to give my opinion on some of the people on the Smackdown Roster (ok I couldn't really think of too many feuds to create but...)
Akio should start a group with Kenzo
Bill DeMott should wrestle
Billy Gunn should go for the tag titles with Holly and then possibly go for the US title
Billy Kidman should go for the CW title
Booker T should tag with Jindrak
Charlie Haas should go for the US title
Funaki should join Kenzo's group or feud with him
Hardcore Holly should go for the Tag titles with Gunn and then go for the US title
Jamie Noble should go for the CW title
Luther Reigns should just do whatever Angle says
Kenzo Suzuki create a group with a japanese theme
Kurt Angle should start walking again
Mark Jindrak should tag with Booker
Mordecai should feud with Taker for the #1 contender spot after a tournament
Rene Dupree should feud with Cena for a while
Rob Van Dam should try for the US title then lose weight and go for the CW title
Sakoda should form a group with Kenzo and Akio
Scotty 2 Hotty should stop jobbing
Shannon Moore should start feuding with Rey (by interrupting all of his matches and beating his ass)
Theodore Long should start managing Booker
Undertaker should feud with Mordecai and just go on a rampage to get a shot at the title

According to Wrestleview.com, you won't be seeing Mordecai on WWE tv "anytime soon".
Just another case of the WWE rushing a young kid up to the main roster only to send them back a few weeks later. Well, if Hogan was supposedly "fired" or "banned" from the WWE. I don't remember what it was, so instead Hogan came out using the Mr. America character, but since there was'nt any proof that Hogan was Mr. America Vince could'nt fire him. While all this was happening on SmackDown, back in the real world Hogan's contract was running out, but it expired without him and the WWE reaching a new deal. So they decided to catch Hogan in the act (storyline wise, of course) and after they taped an episode of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden the cameras kept rolling and the week after that show they showed footage of Mr. America unmasking. It was Hogan (believe it or not) and Vince said that he was fired. And that was the end of Hogan and the WWE. ;)

And that was the end of Hogan and the WWE. ;)
I was familiar with the Mr. America storyline, but stopped watching (can't remember why) but that sounds like utter bollocks. Very glad I didn't see it.

Has anyone else heard about the WWE cracking down on efeds and similar sites using WWE material - wrestler names, pics, logos and stuff...
Apparently they want to open their own efed (where'd you might have to pay to play) so they are getting rid of all other WWE stuff used in efeds and that...
Next, they'll be stopping anyone from typing their wrestler names in forums or something...

I'm surprised that they took the belts off the Dudley Boys. Hopefully this means that they're serious about London and Kidman and will take time to build them up in the next few weeks. BUT knowing the way the WWE works, it'll be a matter of weeks before the Dudleys regain the belts for what, the 30th time?

They're trying to recreate the intesnity they had in ECW. It was a good step having Heyman manage them to do so... But, I think it would only be as good if you gave Heyman some glasses, revoked his speaking privalages, & called him Sign-Guy Dudley.

Now I'm never going to watch Smackdown. IDIOTS! I can truthfully say that, I like Bischoff a hellava lot better than Angle. Okay, done with rant now on to Wrestling News:
Despite having significantly less clearance nationwide, TNA Impact (.2-.3 range) on FOX Sports has been neck-and-neck recently with Velocity, which drew a .3 rating this weekend. Neither show's ratings should be considered outstanding, but TNA's numbers are much more impressive considering the weaker network and the lack of solid coverage and publicity.
Even though WWE was reluctant to give up on Mordecai due to his size, Kevin Fertig, who played the character, was sent back to OVW. Most do not blame Fertig, but rather, feel the character ultimately lacked potential.
The current plan is for Angle vs. Guerrero at Summerslam (not for the title). Of course, WWE often will book on the fly, so take this only as a tentative rumor.

It's online and people can join, create a wrestler (give him a name, history, personality, gimmick, moves etc) and then they are put in matches by the people who run the efed and they have to roleplay (about the match and oppoenent plus character development). The owner(s) then decide who put out the better roleplays and you will either win or lose, unless it's an angle based where it could end in a draw or DQ or something. And yo uget involved in fueds and angles with other people and win titles and stuff.

I agree. DX was never cool and I'm glad they went away. And bringing back the NWO failed miserably. It's all Scott Hall's fault the NWO went away the second time. Well, 50% of it was. The other 50% was the WWE.

Second only to Yokozuna who beat Bret Heart, & lost it the same night to Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 9 (I think it was 9 anyway... the one outside of Ceasers Palace.)

I've been hearing rumors of Bradshaw retaining the title up until Summerslam where he will be placed up against the Phenom where Taker will be triumphant. After all, either you love him or hate him theres no better dude to get the butt's in the seats right now then Taker'. So it makes sense. Besides Bradshaws reign thus far has been rather un-riveting and wouldn't care who the title is dropped to as long as JBL loses it and hopefully retires..

It seems that's just Billy Gunn's role in the WWE. You can tell management loves the guy, he keeps on getting pushed as a singles wrestler, but each time, it fails and he goes back to being in a tag team (New Age Outlaws, Chuck and Billy). I always had a feeling that when Gunn returned to the ring, he would've teamed up with someone like Bradshaw or Holly. If him and Holly do make a permanent team, I wonder what they'll be called. ;)

Austin also won the title from Angle on RAW back during the Invasion crap. Austin was gone for two weeks and they hyped it up, Commish William Regal who recently turned face - hit Angle - costing him the match and then joined the Alliance. Then I believe the PPV was a Triple Threat with RVD vs Austin vs Angle for the title.
JBL even being given the WWE Title is a shock and suprise, so Eddie winning it would be nice suprise. However it is a taped show. On RAW its live, and while SD! does go live sometimes I'm guessing JBL wins and gets involved with Taker...

And seriously, the two are meant to be a tag team. Apart, they really haven't amounted to much. Edge keeps on getting pushed, but it seems the fans don't care about him. Christian seems to be in a forever going feud with Chris Jericho.
Also, they should make Shannon Moore Hurricane's sidekick instead of Rosey. I heard those two put on great matches with the Hardys years ago. A Hurricane/Moore- E/C feud might be pretty kickass :)

At best he would be part of a heel tag team. The problem is at the height of his popularity he was on Smackdown! and Vince said not even half the viewers watch both shows. Now of course SD! is in shambles and is lite in the heel dept. so right now he's better off on RAW up against Orton and HHH.

They banned it. Those bastards. It's one of the few "finishing" moves in wrestling nowaday that look like they'd actually keep your opponent down for the 3 count. But hey, there's still hope . They also banned the Tombstone, but The Undertaker still uses it.

Yeah, Vertebreakers a pretty hot move. To bad it was banned. I downloaded a vid clip of it a while ago and was kinda shoked by it. It looks pretty powerful using your own body weight as you come in contact with the mat. Why was the Tombstone banned? The way they do it in WWE doesn't even let the opponents head touch the ground. What other moves have been banned?......

That has to be why Kane never does a Tombstone. Except when he wants to do something really "big" and shock everyone of course. He uses it as some kind of secret weapon or torture device in some cases now.
Sucks that wrestling has leaned over more to the entertainment side than actual wrestling now. It's stupid to even call it a sport anymore. It's a freakin staged fight for christ's sake. They rehearse moves...Man they can learn alot from the japanese.

Piledrivers are pretty much the only moves that have been banned (they made it official after Austin's injury) and any other move when, if done wrong, the wrestler can land on their head and neck. I guess they made an exception with the Tombstone since The Undertaker is a veteran like The Sabretooth said. But they don't even execute the move like they once did (like JINoside pointed out) They pretty much tuck the opponents head into The Undertaker's crotch so that their head won't hit the canvas. ;)
The Undertaker
07-12-2004, 08:57 PM
Actually.. Undertaker always made the tombstone look authentic even after the whole banning. Sometimes heads are tucked into his crotch but alot of the time he puts their heads in between his knees right up to the point before they would actually hit so it looks more on the real side. Plus, the guy's been doing it for years and has it perfected, knows what he's doing. Kane on the other hand I dont think trusts himself very well so he keeps his opponents heads like 5 feet up from the canvas making it look fake as hell. I hate it when Kane does it, he uses it to make himself look monsterous but fails. Its like " Oh no, he turned them upside down and dropped to his knees! ' I'd be more worried for Kane on how hard he drops on his knees than the opponent. Its more like a fun little ride for them.

Steve Austin, Kevin Nash, & Bill Goldberg Teaming Up With Adam Sandler
Story By: Keith Wilcutt
July 13, 2004
Thanks to Don & Comingsoon.net for the following. It looks like Goldberg, Kevin Nash, & Steve Austin will all be appearing in the upcoming remake of "The Longest Yard" starring Adam Sandler:
MTV spoke to Adam Sandler who revealed new cast additions for his upcoming Paramount film, The Longest Yard, featuring Chris Rock, Burt Reynolds, and James Cromwell.
In what is likely to be the smallest backfield former NFL linebackers Brian Bosworth and Bill Romanowski have ever faced, Nelly will play the running back to Sandler's quarterback in the remake. He'll also record a song for the film. Sandler's team of inmates, who take on a team of prison guards, will have an NFL star of their own in former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin, as well as a few wrestlers.
"[Eric 'Extreme'] Goldberg, Steve Austin, Kevin Nash — [will face off against the prison guards]," said Sandler. Veteran actress Cloris Leachman will play the secretary for the prison's sadistic warden, played by Cromwell
Bret Hart Furious With Ric Flair, Savage/Foley, more
Story By: Ben Johnson
July 11, 2004
Bret Hart was said to be furious with many comments in Ric Flair's autobiography. Like Mick Foley, he was not the biggest fan of Flair's writing and is already gearing to write a column about his feelings.
Hart was especially angry with Flair's comments about Mick Foley and Randy Savage, not to mention what Flair said about "The Hitman" himself.
Flair seems to be ruffling some feathers with this book, which is a good and bad thing, depending on the perspective.
Edge Turning Heel & Getting New Look?; Test, & More
Story By: Niel Stephens
July 12, 2004
Fans at last night’s Vengence PPV booed edge heavily during his match with Randy Orton. Apparently the booing has been continous through many recent house shows. This obviously isn’t the reaction from the crowd which WWE are aiming for, so they are now thinking of turning Edge heel with a complete with a new look and new attitude. The heel Edge could feud with Chris Benoit down the line.
Test has confirmed that he will be out for a year due to neck surgery with Dr. Lloyd Youngblood.

I've met the guy unmasked once and not intentionally. My mother's friends own a business who does promotions for WWE in his newpaper section so we get free close up tickets (either the first 3 rows) and superstar meet and greets. One of the times we were standing in the back waiting and we saw Test getting his back worked on and this massive man walk in with long hair. We looked at his pants and it was Kane. Didn't have his mask on.. minus the goatee and hair, he looks exactly the same and therefore is the same guy without question.

alright beleive me guys Vince already has an idea on how to handle that when the situation does arise and I find it very good entertainment when he copies another superstars manauever
and if I remember correctly Ric Flair once said the greatest form of flattery was to have somebody copy your moves and STING said the same thing about Shelton Benjamin mimicing his stinger splash so lets see how the WWE carries out the Eugene character.
