The best match for me was the triple threat IC match. That is how you build interest and intensity in a match. They grabbed me with each fall and had, in my opinion, one of the most clever finishes for a triple threat. Shelton Benjamin and RVD are totally under-utilized.
I liked the Mickie James moment too. That's dedication on both ladies part to share that bloody kiss.

Oh please he sucked as a heel, his style is that of a face in and out
the crowd cheered for him even as a supposed bad guy and he is not a great worker by a long shot,he is a fun spot worker but please
There's this thing it's called money,WWE needed a buyrate and Hogan/HBK gave them that, part of the condition for not screwing the Hogan deal up was that he returned to being a face afterwards
Hogan couldn't play the heel in the feud so for approximately 5 weeks HBK did a tweener stint to make the match draw
HBK turning heel has NOTHING to do with his Christian beliefs, from what I've heard. HBK doesn't want to turn heel because he doesn't want his son seeing that and being influenced because he saw his dad do it.

Talk going around inside the WWE is that Andrew Martin, better known to fans as Test, will be offered a brand new deal for his return to the company very soon. There is even talk going around about bring back Kevin Fertig, who was released shortly after debuting as "Mordecai".
For those of you wondering where WWE Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms is, he just underwent surgery to repair a broken nose that he suffered at the hands of Paul London on SD's recent tour of Australia. If you check on WWE.com, they have an update on his condition, along with photos of his injury and an interview that Helms conducted before he went in for surgery.
For those concerned fans who were wondering about the status of Joey Mercury, wonder no longer. The co-holder of the WWE Tag Team Championship was not injured at last night's Supershow TV tapings. He was just doing a very good job at selling as he left the ring and the arena.

Read HBK's book and you'll see where he said it. He clearly stated he doesn't want to turn heel due to his Christian beliefs, he's said it a million times in countless interviews.
Yet he still did it recently.
As Hunter stated already, he was more of a tweener in his feud with Hogan and the only time he acted like a heel was in Canada.
He looked and acted like a heel to me. He provoked the whole thing by super kicking Hogan. He dressed up as him insulted him. He attacked Roddy Piper. Not sure what was tweener about it.
RVD is a different kind of wrestler though. As I said, he's one of those wrestlers that fans cannot and will not hate, and repackaging or giving a new gimmick wouldn't work. His strongest heel work was in ECW and even then the fans cheered him, so really that point you made is baseless.
I think a worker can still be a heel and have fans cheer for him. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Austin turned heel and fans booed him. RVD would just have to adapt some more dickish, heel like offense.
He never really did or does anything heelish when he was one.
He cut very heel promos when he was one. He would attack and go after the faces. Those seemed like heelish acts to me.

On a side note, I believe Joey Styles actually called Cena "The Blue Chipper" on Raw a month or so ago. I remember something like that, and thinking it was pretty funny.
I don't see Cena turning heel anytime soon, if ever again. Even though the general fans (18 - 24 males) seemingly despised (although they still buy his crap), he is very popular with women and kids, and kids are a huge moneymaker. As long as Cena can keep them satisfied, I'm sure he'll remain face until his profits fall off.
But that looks to be a long ways off.
I'm glad to see Foley working the mic again. He has the ability to put on some amazing promos when he's in and out of character. Always fun to see Cactus Jack show up. I think Foley and Edge will put on a good match in the end, and I hope Edge is right when he says he's going to steal the show.

I would too actually. Plus, it would actually be something different. Imagine having a Triple H face run against heels like Cena or Edge?
And about Smackdown, I mentioned this to HR a little while back, but maybe a way to solve the apparent lack of main event heels on that show is to turn Batista heel when he returns. Just have him return as a monster heel. That might open up more possibilities. He could feud with Rey for the title and it will be a situation where Rey probably can't win but he manages to squeak out the victory anways. The typical David vs Goliath story. A heel Batista could also have a feud with Kurt Angle or even Chris Benoit....
Sarge 2.0

I think the plan was to have him feud with Angle, if they still wanted him to retain the title at Mania. Considering that Angle's face status doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon, he would have had to have turned heel in that situation. Batista, like Cena, had a better, cooler character as a heel. This is assuming that Kurt retains at Mania, which (although I love Kurt) I hope he doesn't.

I would rather see Rey win it at Wrestlemania. That way, at least one good Wrestlemania moment can happen. Then when Batista returns, he could initially be on Rey's side, then totally destroy him. I mean totally trash Rey's ass. This could mean he could return as the cool heel as well. Totally cocky that he could beat Rey easily for the World's title.
And that would also leave Angle to just have a straight-up feud with Orton in the interim. Maybe have Orton go over in the feud just to help strengthen his Legend Killer gimmick.

I'm suprised people are just noticing how Cena is a horrid imitation of Stone Cold. He's been like that ever since he won the US title and stopped rapping and started trying to be badass and saying silly catchphrases.
If Edge's (short) run as champ proved anything,it was that faces, even John Cena, work much better when they're going after the title. I wouldn't mind Cena vs. HHH continuing past WM22 if Cena was chasing the title and punking out Triple H on the mic (though,I doubt that's gonna happen to the ''King of Kings-uh'')

Selective WWE memory.Yeah, everytime Cole says something like "NO ONE HAS EVER MAN HANDLED UNDERTAKER LIKE MARK HENRY!" I keep thinking of all the times Kane and Mankind owned up Taker in the nineties.

actully the better brand is TNAI don't think Impact can be better than Smackdown just yet, only because it's an hour long. An hour timeslot is really only hurting their whole "More action, less talk" mantra, because they have to do the backstage segments, and those are the ones that take up the majority of the hour, with tons of filler squashes or a 10 minute tag match before the main event. SD has been consistently good with some real quality, well paced matches and angles for the past few months.

True. Cole thinks fans are stupid. Anybody remember Yokozuna's feud with Taker?
Man. I still can't believe Taker is stuck with Mark Henry for WM. I hope it's a 2 minute squash match. It doesn't deserve a second more of airtime.

I don't know what RAW you've been watching but SD hasn't had anything on RAW the last few months. Shawn Michael's road to retirement battle morale with vince, Cena fall from fan favor on the east coast, and Triple H's passionate rise from the ashes! The Triple H/Big Show battle a month ago was by far the best efforted match I've seen on any of the programming the last few years!

There's no way Trips/Big Show at the Rumble was better than Angle/Taker at No Way Out or Orton/Benoit from SD a few months ago. The only good thing about Raw is the Women's Division and the Edge/Foley feud.

I guess it's matter of taste, personally everything in this Shawn/Vince saga has ranged from tacky to boring IMO and HHH and cena is a pretty awful angle all round and more HHH self gratification is just repetitive to me ,i feel Ive seen the last few RAW's already in 98/99
SD each week delivers great matches and fun feuds between better workers than RAw IMO

I'm not even talking about HHH/Show @ Rumble, I mean their match on RAW when Show nailed HHH through the wall! I watched that ep twice and felt it both times! As far as Cena goes, I'm not defending him. I've enjoyed H's rise b/c I want to see him take Cena down a WM and gain back the title! Edge/Foley has been interesting, but the WOMEN'S DIVISION?!?!?! It blows every week. It's the only segment I fast forward through! Torrie is an under-utilized ragdoll and Trish is lame sauce!! AND, I'm not even the slightest bit tempted to check out Candice Michelle's playboy stuff...I'm sure it sucks as bad as her inring stuff...I'd much rather read up on Vince's Muscle & Fitness cover story!

Exactly. I believe it was Hunter Rider that called it the most one-sided 'feud' since the nWo first hit. This is what kills it for me. Well, that and the fact that I'm sick of seeing Vince trying to portray himself as legit competition. The stupid lawsuit threats, the no-sells, ridiculous McMahon promos...it all just sucks. Furthermore, it's all a rehash and a poor one at that.
Michaels can play a great underdog and the 'against all odds' deal but there's a limit to what he can salvage. He deserves better than this.

I don't like Lashley being in the MITB match. His style just won't fit,it's exactly like Kane being in there last year. Unless he takes part in some crazy spot,I'll be severely dissapointed.
I could ***** all day about how wrong and utterly retarded Vince vs. Shawn is/will be. But,since everyone seems to feel the same way,I'll spare it this time. :p
Like Eric Draven said earlier,Triple Threat just got alot more interesting. No teaming up,and everyone wants to beat the **** out of each other. This match has the possibilty of stealing the show (if Foley vs. Edge doesn't first) but for some reason I don't like Rey Mysterio being in there. The quality of his matches really went down after WM21.
Eric Draven
03-24-2006, 10:45 PM
I don't really mind Lashley because it just creates variety in the MITB match. Now there's at least two high-flyers (RVD and Benjamin), two veterans (Flair and Finlay), a guy who should've been in the first MITB match (Hardy), and the newcomer who just has a physical game (Lashley). It just makes things a lot more interesting.

And is it me or has Jillian Hall gotten hot since they took that thing off her face?
I've always found Jillian Hall to be hot, I never believed that big old tumor on the side of her face was real. Thank god the Boogeyman ate that sucker off whatever it was, because that storyline was wearing a little thin.

IMO HCTP is the best SD game. SVR 06 ( I can't hit top rope moves, like the five-star splash ) The only thing I hate about is can't break up submissions and lack of dramatic tag team matches. In SVR 06, the guy keeps running in to break up the pin even know you're going to get a 1 count or a 2 count they still run in.:mad:

SVR 2005 and SVR 2006 both suck ass. For some reason they keep getting pretty good reviews though. Sometimes I can't stand how developers try and make games uber realistic by having your opponent reverse every hold. Maybe if they spent as much time making better season modes instead of the other, unimportant stuff it'd be more fun.
HCTP season mode was amazing. You had a different game every single time you played through. You could take out superstars you didn't want in (something I made VERY good use of) and you could switch brands. With SVR 06 after I won the WWE title with one of my CAWs and went to play through again,it was the same angles. So dissapointing.

No wrestling game has ever matched up to the AKI THQ ones. Though I will say, their season modes were nothing special either. BUT, they were still sort of early versions of season mode.

I might pick up HCTP just for some game variety. I have WM 21 for XBox, which really sucks. Raw 2 for XBox, which is alot of fun, but way too easy. SvR06, I love. Season mode is the same thing over and over, but I enjoy everything else. I hope the TNA game is good.

Eh. I dunno. Kinda diggin SvR '06 the most. The rest I've always seemed to find a flaw in. Too slow, too fast, too boring, not enough variety but this one has a very good balance and is the most realistic I've ever played so far (And I've been playing since the wrestlemania for Sega Genesis days). The whole stamina thing really balances it out and takes care of the whole "random comeback" syndrom the other games suffered from. Could care less about the season mode.
I hope the TNA is as good as even HCTP. Just that level alone and I'd be happy. Although I'd love it if they ripped off things like the stamina system. :D

Well, even though I missed the ROH show, I know I'll be getting the dvds to it, so it's no worry. Looked liked a real good show. Well, at least there is the Lake Grove show in May.
Even though this might not have been the best UXW show wrestling-wise, the interaction I had with some of the wrestlers was worth alone. I really enjoyed going back and forth with Sweeny and Big. Looks like this might become a common thing, if I'm lucky. Raven also picked up a win over Rhino after losing to him for JAPW, although Abyss never made the show.

''Hey guys just wanted to get some feed back on the different pics that are up there. I see that wwe stuff all the time and wanted to give you guys something special. And for those that think I dont read the comment board. I do! How else would i know about all the different opinions goin on. Im leaving for our last live event run before wm 22. I just finished a canadian media tour for wm. I talk a lot to media, to critics and to people who have self proclaimed knowledge of the business that is wwe. Its so funny to me sometimes to hear an "educated" reporter or fan tell me what is happenning in our business. There seems to be a lot of talk in wrestler university about me "turning heel". This IS whats going to happen. The "smart" people will keep plottting, planning, and conjuring up scenarios that they feel are right, dont get me wrong every opinion matters but there is a huge difference between opinion and fact, I will keep being me. So while the so called 'experts' can tell me what Im doing for the next 6 months. I only worry about today. I am not a 'babyface' or a 'heel'. I am me. That is why people tell me to ***** off, and that is why people are willing to stand up for me. I love my job, and my life, i am blessed to be myself and I try to let the fans experience many things that go on with me that most superstars dont. I am not ashamed of who I am, where I came from, or what I have become. These are the last words ill write before the most important day of my short career. I guess what im trying to say is, enjoy this. Enjoy it as much as I do. Some times people dont have all the answers and sometimes there is no right and wrong and you just have to live the moment and enjoy it, for whatever it brings. I know ive already said this but thank you matt, who has his own myspace under matt cena, you are a true inspiration to me to 'never quit'. Boobirds get Cena fired up
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun
John Cena
John Cena has heard the boos. But boos or cheers, he really doesn't care.
"It's great," says WWE champion Cena, who will face Triple H in the main event of next Sunday's Wrestlemania in Chicago. "It's better than hearing nothing. From the moment I got to express my personality, I've never cared about what anybody thinks.
"If they want to tell me to go to hell ... if that doesn't fire me up, nothing will.
"But I still want to work hard for those kids who say, 'Yo, that's my guy.' I'm just being me."
Don't get him wrong, Cena likes his current role.
"I was raised on the concept of hustle and hard work," he says. "And if people attach themselves to that, that's great. I am what I am, straight up.
"Triple H is quote, unquote a heel. He's himself. There are points when he speaks where you laugh and like him. But when he's in the ring, you don't like him."
Cena, who won the WWE back from Edge earlier this year, has enjoyed the rivalry.
"I don't think you've seen the last of Cena vs. Edge," he says. "Something must have bitten him in the ass in 2006 because he's really stepped up his game."

I am pretty sure Kane's movie will flop.
But....If Kane is to keep the title, they better write his character wayy better than they are now.
Or He'll end up being another Edge with the title belt.

Bret Hart Says He Will Not Appear At WrestleMania 22
And vows to walk out if he sees Shawn Michaels...
The Calgary Sun has an interview up with Bret Hart. In it, Hart says he will not appear at WrestleMania 22, saying he will be at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and will then fly out of Chicago on Sunday (the day of WM22). He added that he knows WWE will try to convince him to work the show but that he won't. Interestingly enough, Hart says he has not signed the contract WWE sent him about even showing up at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and again stated that he is not being paid to appear.
Hart also mentioned that he does not want to see Shawn Michaels at the Hall of Fame Ceremony and that if he does, he will walk out.
"I've basically told them that if I see Shawn, I'll get back in a cab and go straight to the airport. They'll have to get him to do my induction speech. I just feel that there's too much anger for me. Too combustible."
Hart again stated that he won't work for WWE after the Hall of Fame Ceremony, saying that it is his way to say goodbye to the fans.

Christ, man, let it go. :(
If you really care about the fans Bret, you wouldn't walk out of the Hall of Fame ceremony for something as trivial as an old rival being in attendance.

Kane's movie is a slasher flick. Considering that slasher movies are made a small amount of money compared to other movies, it's hard for a slasher film made by an actual studio to flop. If it even makes 10 million its first weekend, that would make it a good outing for that movie. Not to mention most films make a lot more of their money on DVD on not Box Office anymore. I don't think Kane's movie will flop, but I don't expect it to be number 1 though either.

Bret has said that he will never work for the WWE again
The Hall of Fame is all he's doing and he even turned down getting paid for it, as that would make him (if only temporarily) an employee of the WWE

Most contenders in these types of matches try and pin the actual champ. Pinning the other contender just doesn't seem to be as dramatic as knowing you pinned the #1 superstar on the roster.

Oh for the love of God, let it go man.
HBK even said if Bret doesn't want him there he won't be there. If you ask me Bret is being a bit immature and won't let go.
Then again it's not entirely his fault though, as Vince keeps on bringing it up and showing the footage rather than moving on himself. Seriously though Bret, move on and just show up at the HOF ceremony, say the proper goodbye to your fans in a WWE ring, and then you can move on for sure.
But holding a grudge and threatening not to show up is a bit immature.
As I said, Shawn said if Bret doesn't want him there, then he won't show up and won't cause any fuss with Bret about it.

The Grudge made money because the whole "Japanese Remakes in America" fad is going on strong right now, and Saw was soething people haven't seen, or atleast most people haven't seen yet. I'm guessing it'll make somewhere between 12-15 million at the box office, anything over 20 and I'll be surprised.

WWE isn't as popular as it once was. Maybe if this movie came out in 99 or 2000 then it'd make more money, however, I definitely don't feel it's going to make a strong buzz at the box office.
