I couldn't resist so I decided to tune in and I like how it appears they're turning Cena into a heel very slowly I might add.
Edge and H were gold on the mic tonight. As much as I hate H and what he's done to far more superior talent, his promo tonight made me chuckle and watching him and Edge go back and forth was funny.
I will say I was half-way expecting Edge to say "The only reason you got your title shots is because of Stephanie McMahon."

He's like Barry Windham. He has tons of finishers. LOL
Remember Barry Windham's: The Claw, The Lariat, The Superplex, The Running Bulldog. I wonder what he's doing. He was a pretty good wrestler, IMO.

Actually, I hear that when the referee is distracted/knocked out, God calls in a swarm of locusts to finish off his opponent. Vince and Shane are screwed. :(
Good to hear about Windham though. Outside of pairing him with Mike Rotunda and getting a tag title run in the early 80's, they didn't do much with him.

Bret Hart on Off the Record with Michael Landsberg
April 3, 2006
By Steve Khan
One on one segment:
Bret said it wasn't hard agreeing to do the Hall of Fame, but it was tough to do actually do it. He said there was a lot of emotion and was hard coming up with what to say given the time frame. Bret says a few days after the Screwjob, he still would've agreed to do it because he earned it. Although, when they called him to be inducted, he tried to convince himself that he wouldn't go.
Landsberg asked what it was like being around the guys again. Hart said the WWE didn't keep their promise about keeping Michaels away. Bret doesn't forgive Michaels for anything. He said it was Michaels who brought him down in a lot of ways.
Bret was honoured to have Stone Cold induct him and was having a great conversation with him. Landsberg asked what it was like when Hogan congratulated him. Bret said he and Austin didn't even look at Hogan and just brushed him off. Bret said Hogan did that to him in the 90s when Bret won his first title. He went up to Hulk to shake his hand and Hogan ignored him for five minutes until Bret walked away. He said it felt good doing it back, like saying "Kiss my ass." Hogan walked away with his tale between his legs with a puppy dog look on his face.
Bret said his speech wasn't as emotional as he thought it would be but the Eddie Guerrero induction before his sapped the emotion out of the crowd. Right before he walked through the curtain a lot of memories came back, and he wished he had more time. Bret tried to take the high road and keep it light.
Landsberg asked what Bret's legacy would be. Bret called himself an artist. Michaels may have worked a little harder, Hogan may have drawn bigger crowds, and maybe Flair lasted longer than he did, but Hart was better than all of them. He said it wasn't a night off working with Flair or Michaels, but it was a night off when people fought Bret. Steve Austin even told him that a few days ago. When Austin saw Bret's name next to his, he knew it was a night off. Bret called himself the perfect guy to work with and wishes he could've wrestled himself.
Landsberg asked if he would ever sit down with Michaels and work things out. Bret said no. Years ago before they had their fallout, they would shake hands thinking they were square, but it never accomplished anything. Michaels never gave a sincere effort to even be honest, let alone apologize. He doesn't know why Michaels claims to have ever apologized to Bret because he never has.
The panel joins the show. Paul Godfrey (CEO of the Toronto Blue Jays), Will Strickland (writer), Paul Hamilton (Buffalo Radio personality):
Topic: Who should be in charge for the Maple Leafs next season, Ferguson or Quinn? Are the younger players the answer?
Bret didn't say a word during this segment, except when Strickland said they would sell out the Air Canada Centre no matter what they do, Landsberg said Bret Hart would sell out by himself.
Quirky Fact: Bret Hart became the first wrestler to win the WWE and WCW Triple Crown. The second was also trained by Stu Hart, fellow Canadian Chris Benoit.
Topic: Should MLB leave Bonds alone?
Bret thinks it's a bit of a witch hunt and its overkill now. Paul Godfrey immediately disagreed. The rest of them argued as Bret watched again.
An emailer asked Bret which hair product he used back in the day, which Bret found funny. Answer after the commercial break...
Next Question with Bret Hart (paraphrased):
Landsberg: Best illegal object; the briefcase, the steel chair, the cane, or Mad Dog Vachon's prosthetic leg?
Hart: The leg for sure.
Landsberg: One punch on any individual; Vince, Earl Hebner or Shawn Michaels.
Hart: Shawn for sure.
Landsberg: You going to make it count?
Hart: You won't hear about him anymore.
Landsberg: Better evil laugh; Jim Neidhart or Vince McMahon.
Hart: Jim was evil, but nothing like Vince. Vince was the best.
Landsberg: Does Vince deserve and Academy Award for acting?
Hart: Not that I've seen.
Landsberg: You're not giving him any awards are you.
Hart: Not for acting.
Landsberg: Why do so many wrestlers have mullets?
Hart: I don't know, they all come from the same wrestling school?
Landsberg: Hulk Hogan, what year should he have retired?
Hart: Ten years ago.
Landsberg: Favourite Hebner; Dave or Earl?
Hart: Dave.
Landsberg: Easy one right?
Hart: Yeah.
Landsberg: How mad were you at Bad News Brown double cross at WrestleMania.
Hart: I lost a lot of sleep that one night...but I got over it pretty fast.
Landsberg: Were you afraid of Yokozuna squashing you?
Hart: Yeah I was. He did squash me a couple times.
Landsberg: Was Bob Backlund's crazy face the best ever?
Hart: Pretty close.
Landsberg: Who's the biggest ass kisser in the history of pro
wrestling?
Hart: That's a tough one...The best ass kisser I remember is Terry
Taylor. He could pucker up pretty fast.
Landsberg: What hair product did you use back in the day?
Hart: Sebastian Wet.
Landsberg: How many sunglasses did you give away and who paid for them?
Hart: WWE paid for them. I gave away thousands.
Landsberg: Do you know how much the OTR and Canadian audience loves you?
Hart: Uh, no I don't.

According to PWInsider.com:
Tyson Tomko is gone from World Wrestling Entertainment. According to several sources, Tomko had been told by WWE creative that he and Gene Snitsky would be put together as a tag team and given a push after Wrestlemania 22.
At last night's Raw taping in Chicago, Snitsky was paired as a tag team with Goldust for WWE.com's Heat. The pair will now be a regular undercard tandem, capitalizing on their appearance together as "freaks" in the Booker T backstage sketch at Wrestlemania 22.
Upon realizing that he was not going to get his promised push, Tomko immediately approached WWE management, informed them of his unhappiness over the situation and then requested a release. I was told this morning the request had been granted, so Tomko is done with the company.
Tomko's biggest push during his WWE run was during the time period he was seconding Christian Cage as Christian's "Problem Solver."

Last night's first 15 minutes of RAW was the best thing i've seen on RAW since Shawn Michaels impersonating Hulk Hogan last summer.
Seeing Edge and Triple go back and forth with jokes were pretty funny.
I still kinda feel sorry for Cena. The fans breaking kayfabe and all. I dont think its his fault for being boo'ed, but the WWE writers' fault. I kinda have respect Cena just not caring about the fans and doing his thing.
BTW, Triple H better become champion soon.

04-04-2006, 04:04 PM
I loved that line by Triple H "yeah, you had a victory at WM, but tell me, how many of those were in the main event again?" or something to that extent
And the more I think about it, the more I love the "heel" Cena. If he went back to his old ways, he'll probably start getting cheered again and it'll be an endless cycle. If he sticks to what he's doing, he'll continually get booed.
Addendum
04-04-2006, 04:16 PM
The first 9 minutes of RAW were painful.
First, you have the worst promo ever by Cena, that made Ultimate Warrior's promos look like masterpieces.
Then you have Triple H come out, and then he and Cena decide to play the quiet game and everyone loses, except for them since they're getting a paycheck for that ****.
Finally, Edge comes out and saves everyone by actually speaking, and then Trips rediscovers his voice. The best thing Cena did was standing there and seeing firsthand how to do a promo.
The second 9 minutes were great.
Sabretooth
04-04-2006, 04:16 PM
I don't see how Cena is heel yet. All he did was say ''The Champ is here!'' in a cocky way,and that was it. For the most part Cena has been absolutely pathetic, especially in the weeks leading up to Wrestlemania and after. ''Yeah,I don't have 1000 different kinds of movesets, but uhm,yeah......''
I'm sorry, but Cena is and never will amount to anything unless he starts ripping into the crowd and making raps. The way he tries to get sympathy is just not the Cena I used to be a mark for.

Eric Draven
04-04-2006, 04:20 PM
The crowd is actually booing the hell out of him and almost asking for anybody to kick his ass and take the title from him. How does that not sound like a heel?
Yeah, sure, he may not act like the prototypical heel at the moment, but seriously, if he started doing his old stuff, the crowd will cheer for him again, then they'll turn him face and it'll be this **** all over again. I'm actually intrigue at this type of heel because it's something that's never been done before....
Sabretooth
04-04-2006, 04:28 PM
Well,it's utter torture for Cena. He may have had a big smile on his face at the booing last night and at Wrestlemania, but you can tell it gets to him. At the post Wrestlemania show he looked like he was about to cry.
And to this damn day WWE still acts like it's such a mixed crowd. During his entrance on Raw take a look at how many times the camera focused on women and kids? They're not even brave enough to say the majority of the fans hate him.
And as for him going back to his old stuff,I'd much prefer it to this crap. Cena could still get booed if he goes against the right people. If they have him feud with Michaels,he'll obviously get heel heat. If he goes against RVD,he'll get booed. And if they just kept this attitude like the world revolves around him,no one would stand him.
Eric Draven
04-04-2006, 04:38 PM
He'll eventually get cheered for again. Look at what happened when they did the exact same thing for the Rock. They had him acting all like the Rock of old and immediately, fans started cheering for him again. I bet the same would happen to Cena.
Right now, Cena is getting IMMENSE heel heat, probably the most he would ever get. And it's something that's a bit different. Frankly, I kinda like it.
Sabretooth
04-04-2006, 04:42 PM
It would be 1000x better if he rapped. It could be a few things to poke fun at the town he's in. If he absolutely must stay face, have him rip into the crowd, but not as hardcore as he was in like 2002.

RANDY ORTON SUSPENDED BY WWE

Although details are still sketchy at this time, PWInsider.com has learned that World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days. I'm not yet sure of the reason, but I hope to have more on this story later today.
5:40 PM Update: WWE issued a text message via their mobile service confirming the story, citing that Orton had been suspended for "unprofessional conduct."
It should be interesting to see what WWE does at tonight's Smackdown taping as Orton had been advertised in the main event, challenging WWE World champion Rey Mysterio.

In other news, you guys should really check out this video at wwe.com called ''Mixed Reaction'' where John Cena speaks to the fans after his match with Edge and H. He really handled the crowd and made it pretty clear a heel turn just might be in the works.

ummmmm... that sounds vague... I smell a work.
If this is a work, it is by far one of the worst. Why would you do this right when you have a great match lined up for Smackdown! tonight? Seems like an ass backwards thing to do.
Might as well have Orton retire and have Jeff Jarrett follow him around with a camera until he returns.

Orton has always had a behavioral problem. I think he was one of the reasons why that diva who was JBL's cabinet quit (I forget her name). I think he pulled a Scott Hall special or something like that. I think it was also one of the reasons why they brought in Cowboy Bob Orton last year....

It's not a work,i think it has something to do with his altercation with fans outside the press conference
As for Cena the rap is dead,it worked as a heel because fans were laughing at the whiteboy rapping, now as a face it is a joke, right now humble Cena is awesome at getting heel heat while playing a face
The triple threat with him,Edge and HHH is the most exciting title program in ages
One big difference between him and the Rock is the Rock was great in the ring, his talent was never why he was booed,a large part of Cena's boo's come from the fact he is a very mediocre worker

Cena's getting booed because he's not a traditional wrestler?
I think the reason Cena gets booed is because a kid who has been in the WWE for about 5 years, and made his TV debut 4 years ago is getting an insane push that normally guys have to work their asses off for.
Bret Hart became champ in '92. He made his wrestling debut in 1976.
Steve Austin became champ in '98. He made his debut in 1989.
Shawn Michaels became champ in '96. He made his debut in 1988.
The Undertaker became champ in '91. He made his debut in 1984.
Mick Foley became champ in '98. He made his debut in 1983.
While they didn't all debut in the WWF the year they entered wrestling, they all did their share of jobbing, honing their skills, making a name, and gaining respect.
Tomko looks to hone his skills during “lull” in WWE career
By Evan Denbaum
April 4, 2006
http://www.wwe.com/content/media/images/344364/120tomko.jpgSoon after the official announcement on WWE’s new moble alert system that WWE and Tyson Tomko had come to terms on his release, WWE.com spoke with Tomko via cell phone to get the whole story and ask where he goes from here:
WWE.com: Is it true that you requested your release from WWE to go work in Japan?
Tyson Tomko: That’s correct.
WWE.com: What prompted that decision?
Tomko: It was a mutual agreement between me and WWE. I talked to WWE officials and there’s not anything going on with me right now. So, rather than sit around, I’m taking matters into my own hands. I’m going to go over to Japan. I’ve always admired the style there — the brutality. I’m a big fan of Bruiser Brody. And I just want to go over there and experience that. And while there’s a lull in my career here at WWE, I decided to take the opportunity to go over to Japan and hone my skills.
DisplayAd("LargeBody");
WWE.com: Do you feel you were underutilized or improperly used in WWE?
Tomko: I think it’s easy to say that “I was underutilized,” but I think what would be more politically correct to say is that you underutilized yourself. I think I can and will be a bigger asset to this company.
WWE.com: What kind of opportunity would you need in WWE to show that you can be a bigger asset?
Tomko: I don’t think it was anything I was doing. The bottom line is that people sit by sometimes — and I’ve seen it happen to a handful of guys — where they just sit around and don’t do anything about their career. But I know I can be a top-caliber athlete for this company. I just think that rather than sit around and wait for the opportunity, I’m going to take it. Instead of waiting around for a handout, I’m going to go make my opportunity. Then, I’m going to come back and there’s going to be no question as to my ability at that point.
WWE.com: Do you have any plans finalized for wrestling with a particular promotion in Japan?
Tomko: There’s nothing completely finalized. I have been in talks as recently as this morning, and there had been e-mail communication. So, I can’t go on record as of this point, but I’m definitely — with 100 percent certainty — going to be appearing in Japan within the next couple of months.
WWE.com: Looking back, how do you feel about your time in WWE?
Tomko: Very positive. I think I’ve gone out on a good note and everything I’ve done here had been a testament to my abilities. I think that if I went any further without doing what I’m doing, then it could have jeopardized my stature, if you will. So, I’m going to take a step backward and go five steps forward.
WWE.com: So, you feel you’re leaving WWE on good terms where you might return in the future?
Tomko: Absolutely. I shook hands with Vince McMahon yesterday afternoon as I was leaving, and I believe the exact saying was: “The door is wide open.”
WWE.com: So it doesn’t sound like there are any hard feelings.
Tomko: None whatsoever. The company as a whole was fantastic to me. I’m not bitter in any way. This is just something that I wanted to do, and I’m just fortunate that there was a lull in what I was doing where I was able to go to Japan while not taking away from what WWE was doing with me. I came from being a bodyguard for a rock band, so I never got the opportunity to go work in areas like Japan or the independents or anything like that. And I want to experience that. So, while there was an opportunity, I decided to do this thing. I’ll come back, and when I come back I’ll be bigger than ever.
WWE.com: What were your favorite moments during your time in WWE?
Tomko: I have a few favorites. I had an opportunity to wrestle with Chris Benoit a few times. I also wrestled with Hulk Hogan in a six-man tag-team match with Christian and Chris Jericho as my partners and John Cena, HBK and Hulk Hogan as my opponents. That’s a match that I was really fortunate to be a part of. Also, I got the opportunity to face Ric Flair. Those are all points in my career where I would have never thought those opportunities would present themselves, and they did. I’m very fortunate and grateful for that.
WWE.com: There are going to be a lot of WWE Superstars who will read this on WWE.com today. Do you have any message for anyone you didn’t get a chance to speak to one-on-one before your departure?
Tomko: I just want to say to everybody I had an opportunity to work with in WWE, if I didn’t personally thank them, I’d like to thank them now. In times to come, we will definitely have a future meeting — and hopefully I’ll be on the good end of it. Because when and if I do come back to this company, any Superstar in my way, I’m going to take him out.

No, but I read about it on another board somewhere. It was a signing that was bound to happen eventually. This might be the guy who could carry on the Hart tradition, especially since Teddy Hart is pretty out there

Smackdown Taping
Peoria, Illinois
Dark Matches:
1. The Gymini (w/ Simon Dean) defeated CM Punk and Sterling James Keenan by pinfall.
2. Matt Hardy defeated Colt Cabana after the Twist of Fate. The crowd popped huge for Hardy's music. I guess the sound guy took notice, because he accidentally started playing his theme at the count of 2. My friend Justin thought he heard it before that time, but I didn't. After the match, Animal came out and destroyed Hardy with a chairshot against the ringpost.
Matthews and Romero come out, so I assume that this is Velocity. They'd had the side Trons with the Velocity logo on them since I'd walked in the building.
Velocity:
1. Fit Finlay defeated Psychosis by pinfall. Since I haven't really ever seen much of Finlay, I was pleased and shocked with how stiff he works. After the match, I believe it was Johnny Ace who drove the Juan Deere backstage. So if any of you were wondering who did that, it's him.
2. Kid Kash & Jamie Noble defeated Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki with a spear/clothesline combination on Funaki, scoring the pin. There were a lot of boos for Scotty.
3. Bobby Lashley (Chimmel kept his first name here, not sure about Finlay) defeated Vito after his version of the Dominator.
The SmackDown pyro went off after a few minutes and we were set for our first match...
1. Brian Kendrick & Paul London defeated MNM by pinfall after a quick roll-up. This match had a lot of near-falls and was pretty fast-paced, compared to the rest of the night.
Backstage, Booker T and Sharmell bounded into Teddy Long's office after Teddy got off the phone. Long inquired as to why Booker was so happy, and Booker said that they'd gotten a restraining order against Boogeyman. Long wasn't too happy.
2. Gunther Scott (maybe Gunner, I don't know. But if Chris Kanyon is looking for a stunt-double, this is the guy) defeated Booker T by a roll-up after Boogey's music started to play. No Boogeyman in Peoria, though.
After the match, Teddy Long came out and made fun of the "music miscue." Once again, Long announced the winner to rub it in Booker's face.
Backstage, Benoit pumped up this Scott guy.
3. Chris Benoit defeated Simon Dean after using the Crippler Crossface.
Still with Benoit in the ring, a promo aired for JBL about how he's going to have some "Great American" celebration next week. After this, Teddy Long announced there would be a cage match to close out the show, and I assume that won't be on television.
Backstage, Kurt Angle stares down Randy Orton pumping up. A video played before the break with Orton in it, too, so I thought that was kind of weird. I also thought it was odd that Orton was still on the show, despite his 60-day suspension. Anyway, Orton gets *****-smacked by Kurt Angle and Angle screams "YEAH!" two times.
4. Rey Mysterio defeated Randy Orton after using two consecutive 619s and a West Coast Pop leg drop. The first was on the ring post, and then the other on the ropes. This was honestly a slow match. Slow-paced with quite a few restholds, I thought.
On the screen, Palmer Cannon says the network does not endorse the following...
A Miz promo!
Backstage, Kristal interviews Rey. Rey says he wants to say "thank you." My suspicion was correct in that I HAD heard boos during the title match when Mysterio came out, because they booed him a lot during this promo. He brought in his family too.
More backstage - William Regal goes up to Pirate Paul and tries to smooth things over. He wants to give Paul another chance. They argue over Paul's choice of attire and Paul makes a deal - if Regal wins, Regal can make Paul wear whatever he wants. If Paul wins, Regal would "make for a buxom wench."
5. Pirate Paul defeated William Regal after the C4. I'd never seen the C4 since I rarely have a chance to watch SmackDown, and I missed most of it because I was fiddling around with deleting the crappy pictures off my camera.
In Long's office, several members of the roster were assembled. Long said that the KING OF THE RING!~ tournament would be coming back, and that our first match next week would be...Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton!
Mark Henry cut a promo. I really couldn't tell you about what it was, since I was too busy starting a successful "WHAT?!" chant. But with respect to Henry, he ran with it and let us have our fun after the frustration went away.
6. Undertaker vs. Mark Henry goes to a no-contest, I guess. Undertaker had taken Henry outside and was doing some damage until Daivari marched to the ring with Dalip Singh from Deep South Wrestling, who puts a beating on the Undertaker. The Deadman stays down as this monster raises his arms and holds them, sets them down, holds them up again, and repeats the process a few more times. Why? I don't know. Finally they leave, and Undertaker slowly walks back.
While they set up the cage, they aired videos on the troops and on the Divas.
DARK MATCH:
JBL defeated Chris Benoit to retain the United States title in a steel cage match. I couldn't believe all the people that had left while setting the cage up, and the little reaction the whole match got. A few minutes into the match JBL did the little Eddie dance and pointed up, but the fans booed what I thought was a nice little tribute. JBL put the 3 Amigos on Benoit, and Benoit came back with 3 of his own. A FINE-looking Jillian Hall got involved by distracting the ref as JBL tied Benoit to the top of the cage with the tag rope. Benoit struggled, but JBL ran out the door and back to his limo, which I think passed me a few minutes away from the arena (sans horns & insignia). After JBL's music played, Benoit's played as he sucked in more adulation from the fans.
Overall, it was a pretty good show. I think that there could have been a promo or two to keep some Wrestlemania steam, at least from Angle anyway. And speaking of Angle, I'm surprised he wasn't involved in the show more than he was. If you see me, I'll be holding the "www.EWCOMMUNITY.com" sign off from the far right corner (on the screen). I think I might be on a few times.
Some notes about the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois...
-Not a lot was tarped off - about 6 sections to the right of the hard camera (if you're standing at the camera).
-More people were in the upper bowl on the side the camera was facing. I assume they might've moved some people around beforehand.

apearantly the fans think the wwe and rey are milking eddie's death thats why he got the title shot

Oh, no doubt they're milking it. It wasn't a coincidence that Vickie and Chavo just happened to be on the ramp after Rey won.
I just thought it came out of nowhere. I don't recall booing when Peanut Long announced the Triple Threat with Rey in the ring (as a matter of fact, the crowd was pretty stoked). It was the same with everything leading up to the match. Plus, the crowd was pretty hot for Chavo during his 'dedication match' with Shelton. I haven't seen that match at Mania, but I doubt they booed him there either.
They need to leave Eddie out of the storylines.

Even before Eddie's untimely death wasn't Rey going to be getting a run at the title and carrying for awhile anyway? For some reason the fans in Chicago are messed up with who they cheer for and who they boo, that is all I gotta say about that! (of course they are entitled to there opinion and I have no problem with that)

I was personally bored to hear that WM23 will be in...Detroit??? (sad sound effect) I mean, they just had the Superbowl there and it just doesn't sound like an exciting city to have it in right now...
ohh yea..I told you so.
And for you..STFU, you're just jelous:o

There is nothing smart about royally screwing over one of the best heel performers of the past 5 years just so another performer can do the job for Cena and Batista.
How many ppl has HHH screwed over just so he could be the longest running champ?
he's th ereason why Edge lost, he told vince he wants Cena at WM not Edge.
Plus, the bussiness will be his in a few years anyways, and he's had the belt long enough.

Edge seems to back in the running now, though. And Shane will get the company before Trips.

Detroit has one of the best wrestling crowds ever..remember, we invented the WHAT? chant.
And Survivor series was the first time a whole crowd booed cena

HHH vs Cena turned out to be the right choice,no other athlete would have gotten the perfect anti booking reaction the way HHH did and it's all worked out cos Edge stole the show anyway and is back in the title mix
oh and the WHAT ? chant is nothing to be proud of it sucked after 5 minutes:(

Yeah, that guy is gonna kill Taker... :( SD! just dropped a bit because of this guy, and if he gets a push, which I'm sure he will, it will only be bad news for them.

It makes no sense. A SD! superstar won the Rumble, and Raw has main evented for the past what,4 years? Give me a break.
I always thought raw was the main event every year since they split into raw and smackdown

But the what chant will live on forever!
any who, like i said, many good things have happened in Detroit for the WWE.
I'm not gonna pull out my list, but i hopw there's a Rock vs Cena, or a Rock Vs Orton match at WM23,
Rock vs Cena, best Promos
Rock vs Orton, 3gen vs 3gen

I think he must be safer than was thought after some OVW development if taker is willing to work with him,i mean Taker has a lot of stroke,no way he works this giant if he is a danger to him

But have you seen this dude wrestle? He's one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen. I understand he's a big guy, but so is Show, and he is pretty damn good. This dude just plain sucks.
