Angle vs Booker-Angle

Benoit vs. Lashley-Benoit (Lashley will get more wrestling expierence)

I wouldn't be surprised if Raw gets involved in the KoTR tournament, setting up for an interpromotional match

Hardy's going to get a match with Angle

Booker can't just job to "Gunner Scott" and then beat Hardy, there's going to be more Boogeyman stuff to make him job

As awesome as Benoit/Kurt Angle one more time would be, its not going to happen.

The finals are going to be Kurt Angle/Henry unfortunately. While Benoit will be stuck in a garbage feud with JBL.

That would give us Lashley/Finlay in the 2nd round. They never really finished that (to my satisfaction, at least).

I assume Benoit will go out in the first as part of the JBL deal or whatever tag scenario he's supposed to get involved in.

Taken from LOP.net

An incident involving John Cena took place at the O'Hare Airport in Chicago, Illinois on Tuesday morning. The following information came from two sources from the O'Hare Airport. One source is a person's eye witness account of the incident. The other source is from written documentation of the incident. Here is an eyewitness report in regards to situation at hand...

"John Cena was at O'Hare Airport in Chicago on Tuesday morning to get a flight to Tampa. He arrived too late to check in his bag for the flight and was informed by the ticket agents that his bag wouldn't be able to make it. Cena started swearing at the agents and gave them the finger before leaving his bag and departing for the gate, despite knowing his bag wouldn't make the flight. The gate was called and told to not let him to board. Cena returned to the ticket desk and saying "f*** you" repeatedly to the agents present, and he was told to stop using profanity. A manager came to the desk and again told him to stop using profanity. He was rebooked on a later flight."

Apparently, this incident caused a big scene at the airport, and it could have much worse than it actually was. In situations such as this one, the customer is not allowed to the fly on his or her original flight. Customers that are abusive to airline staff usually have the police stationed at the airport, called in. A WWE representative personally called the O'Hare airline to apologize for Cena's disruptive behavior. Also, the source was told that if Cena ever misbehaves at the O'Hare airline ever again, he will be denied boarding on the flight and he will have to find another airline in which to fly on.

Main-event WWE SmackDown! wrestler Randy Orton was suspended indefinitely by WWE (with a sixty day minimum) this past week following a major incident that only worsened his already poor backstage reputation.

According to the Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, the final incident occurred at some point in Chicago?it is being called a "near disaster," and the feeling is that if Orton were not a top name, he would have been fired for his actions.

But by no means was this an isolated incident. It was Orton's behavior that initially prompted WWE management to give Kurt Angle the title vacated by Batista.

And, while Orton avoided a suspension due to being booked for the WrestleMania main-event, an incident after No Way Out forced WWE to nix giving him the title at the 'Mania pay-per-view.

These individual incidents only increased management's disapproval of Orton's behavior; he was specifically notorious for disrepecting female WWE workers.

Although the feeling is that by posting news of his suspension, WWE is practically confirming Randy Orton will come back, other insiders are not so sure that is the case and are even less sure that it will be in sixty days. There is already feeling within WWE that SmackDown! needs to create a new top heel; a returning Ken Kennedy could receive the chance to fill that slot.

Sounds like WWE may cut their losses

I could definitely see Mr. Kennedy fill in that number 1 heel spot instead. He has just the right mix to really succeed. Plus, I think Kennedy's whole opening spiel does get a bigger heel response than Orton would ever get....

I think that can be attributed to his lack of oppurtunity for really exstensive ring work before his serious injury. He was pretty impressive and well balanced for the few months he spent before he was injured, so I'm not terribly worried.

It makes me more and more curious what happened with Randy Orton.

I doubt he will be gone that long though. If his suspension was THAT serious, I bet he would've been kept off the Smackdown tapings and not wrestled a long match for the world title.

I believe it was announced on the same day that he would be suspended. The weird thing is that he wasn't suspended immediately. The WWE is just using him for 2 shows (last SD and next week's SD) and then kicking him to the curb for however long his supension is.

I've seen a few of Kennedy's matches when he was in NWA Wisconsin over in Green Bay, and in the matches he was one hell of a worker. He was involved in one of the coolest spots I've ever seen: Triple threat cage match, one of his opponents tried climbing out but he pulled him off caught him on his shoulders and in a seamless motion he did his Kenton finisher. He may not be the worker tht Orton is, but with some time he'll be just fine.

Well, it's not surprising. The WWF had Shane Douglas. What was McMahon's genius idea for him? Dean Douglas, since Shane Douglas has a B.A. in education.

And you just got to have loved how the clique totally made Douglas look like a total chump with that gimmick. That whole dropping the IC title then losing it the same night was just disgusting :(

As announced on Friday Night SmackDown last name, the King of the Ring tournament is being brought back exclusive to the SmackDown brand. The first round bracketing of the tournament will be as follows: Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton, Matt Hardy vs. Booker T, Chris Benoit vs. Fit Finlay, and Mark Henry vs. Bobby Lashley. WWE.com has added a section taking a look at the history of the King of the Ring with photos and videos.

SmackDown will be preempted next week in New York and will instead air on Saturday at 8pm.

World Wrestling Entertainment has signed Harry Smith. Harry is the son of the late Davey Boy Smith The British Bulldog and Diana Hart. It's being reported that the two came to terms last weekend in Chicago, since Harry Smith was there at the Hall of Fame for his uncle's (Bret) induction. Harry will be the first third generation wrestler in the WWE from the Hart family. Harry Smith has worked in many promotions, including New Japan. Smith is around 6'5, 220 pounds and is expected to be with the WWE sometime in May, since he still has to fulfill his indy commitments.

I look forward to seeing Harry on SD:up:

I always saw the KOTR as a stepping stone for a lot of main-eventers. Look at who's won the KOTR before: Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Stone Cold, Triple H, Edge, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesner....

But then again, Billy Gunn and Mabel won as well :o :(

Billy Gunn never could've carried the company by himself. He was never any good, mic-wise or wrestling-wise. But the WWE continually pushed him, hoping to make him a main-eventer only because they thought he could make it. And because they wanted to make him the "Shawn Michaels" of the Smoking Gunns.

The Tombstone is a lot easier to control the impact than the basic piledriver plus by limiting it to special matches the move carries more meaning to it.they should do that with moves like the DDT as well

The Reverse piledriver, or belly-to-belly piledriver, was used by Owen Hart. He called it the "Hart Driver" which broke Steve Austin's neck. The wrestler performing the move jumps, then brings his opponent down on his/her head. D-Lo Brown performed this move on Droz

The Tombstone is a variation on that move, however the wrestler performing moves falls to a kneeling position.

The ECW One Night Stand 2 poster is now online. The poster features RVD, Triple H and other ECW stars such as Terry Funk, Tajiri and Tommy Dreamer. The poster says “1 contract forces an outsider into the extreme”, it also states that Triple H will be defending his Championship against Rob Van Dam at the show.

It has a list of ECW Return’s which advertise “Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, Sabu, Tajiri, The Eliminators, The Sandman, Little Guido, Super Crazy And Many More”

It also advertises the date, June 11, 2006 and location at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

Local advertising in New York city for this year’s ECW PPV lists Terry Funk, RVD, and Chris Benoit for the event.

The Sandman has signed for the event. It's said that he signed a large deal that would prevent him from working for any other competing events during the time around the ECW PPV as they don’t want another event like Hardcore Homecoming popping up.

It looks like Dean Malenko will be returning to the ring at the PPV. There were some reports out a while ago that Malenko and Benoit wanted to have a match dedicated to Eddie Guerrero at the PPV.

Tajiri will be flying in from Japan to appear at the show.

May 19, 1995--Volunteer Slam IV: Robert Gibson defeated Unibomb in a "Falls Count Anywhere" match

Glen Jacobs was "Unibomb" in Smokey Mountain Wrestling.

May 19, 2003 - RAW: Kane & Rob Van Dam defeat Christian & Chris Jericho by DQ to retain their Tag Team titles

Perhaps May 19 was when Taker burned down his parent's house, if they decide to bring back the original storyline with him and Taker

That would be great.
It would be the WWE writers trying to bring back some of the ''Attitude'' era...which they should do more often.

I wish Kane would retire:(
Why all of the hate on Kane,HR? At least he has personality and good mic skills. He may not be a great wrestler, but neither is JBL or Batista or John Cena and yet they get pushed to the main event.

I want HHH to drop down to the weight that he had during those IC title matches with the Rock
That's when Triple H was at his best, with his rivalry with the Rock I mean.

Eh what personality ? he's a big choad who does b-movie horror laughs to try and look scary
Batista and Cena both have a charisma and in Cena's case he can talk, you can build a company on those types of guys but not on Kane and a WWE title reign would be criminal given how awful Kane has been for ages now

I admit his character has gotten a bit worse after he lost the mask, but that's WWE's fault not his. And Batista? The crowd may love him but I don't see how he's supposed to be a horror movie animal when he does promos about hugging and acts like the Rock (and quite horribly at that) Cena? He may sound cool now but by the time he turns heel again people will cheer him, then what are they gonna do?

Being physically forced by The Undertaker to kiss Vince McMahon's ass.
Being knocked out by Jonathan Coachman.
Being low blowed by Ric Flair.
Being attacked and choked by Muhammad Hassan and Daivari.
Being set on fire by Kane.
Being punched by Paul Heyman the evening after the Survivor Series.
Being Stunnered and busted open by "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.
Being mandible clawed by Mankind.
Being slapped in the face by Stephanie McMahon.
Being kicked in the groin by Linda McMahon as he was "fired."

What will happen to Jim Ross? Tune in next week and see
