Thanks to Gabe Smith for sending this along:

From the Hardcore Holly Message board:

Here's the latest on Bob's situation...
---
The staph infection he got in the ring around August of last year turned into MSRA , they thought they had cured it, but when he had surgery on his right elbow in February it came back full force landing him back in the hospital in March. Everything seemed to be going ok until around the 7th or 8th of April when he came down with what we thought was a bad case of the flu (fever, chills, and then his arm began to swell). We went back to the doctor and he was admitted directly to the hospital that night and emergency surgery was scheduled the next morning. We stayed in the hospital until they put a PIC line in and got the results of the cultures back from surgery showing it was indeed still the MSRA which had gotten into his blood and also embedded his elbow joint. Unfortunately the only antibiotic that will probably get rid of it once and for all has to be administered by IV once every 12 hours for about the next 6 weeks. He has been on and off antibiotics since September of last year fighting this infection when he first got it, which really created a super strain infection resistant to everything they have given him. Now we are fighting along with that damage to other organs probably caused from such strong meds. They are monitoring him closely here at home, taking blood every other day now, delivering the medication to us daily, and at least trying to let him be here instead of at the hospital. The results on Friday were a little scary and they started him on an additional medication because his platelet level and potassium level were very high. Hopefully things will start to turn around and they will get this all out of his system without any long term damage to his kidneys.
---
We encourage all Bob Holly fans to support Bob in this tough time! Any cards or anything from fans to cheer him up would be great! He is so ready to be back in the ring and all of this is very disheartening. He is a fighter and wants to be back to the ring and like I said we encourage you to drop Bob a note. The website (www.bobhollyacademy.com) has the address! Thanks everyone!

Gabe added this:

Being an EMT I wanted to give a little insight on the MSRA virus. This is a virus that is usually found in hospitals (scary thought) and can be VERY deadly. About 10% of people who get MSRA will die of complications from the infections that it can cause. This is not just a case of a wrestling being a little sick. This can possibly end an athlete's career. Just to give an idea of how bad that this situation MAY be. If y'all are praying people, send one out for him.

I don't like his attitude, but I definitely wish him the best and hope he gets better.

I had a staph infection and it's nothing to play with. So he has my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

did NOBODY watch tna lockdown or something? it was pretty awesome. the opening match with team japan was a great opener. christian and abyss was friggin insane but i'm kinda dissapointed christian didn't bump on the tacks... abyss taking the unprettier on all those tacks was siiick. christian's splash from the cage was also impressive. christiopher daniels lost to the former low ki and i forgot what his new name is but it means 'warrior' in japanese... i used to see this guy gettin off the train in brooklyn after comin back from wwf shows in the garden back when he had a few dark matches with them. he was awesome tonight and got the victory over daniels in a hard fought match. the xscape match was awesome, lots of sick spots with chris sabin beating out petey williams in the end. i hate samoa joe so i won't even comment on his match with sabu but i guess sabu was just there to job cuz the ecw show is coming up. whatever, it was a good match. cuz sabu rocks! whoo!! team 3d and team canada was okay, some good spots in that match too. the main event had two of the sickest spots of the night... aj styles hanging off pretty much the ceiling and splashing james storm through a table that was on top of the cage. wow. the other spot involved pretty much everyone in the match over in one corner in kind of a pyramid position piled up and like three superplexes and powerbombs going off at the same time. overall, the ppv was pretty damn good.

According to Dave Meltzer, the target date for ECW's return is shortly after the 6/11 One Night Stand PPV, not in September as previously thought. No decision has been made to whether they will tape the show before Raw or Smackdown on a weekly basis. WWE will use former ECW talent and developmental wrestlers for the project.

Yeah, that'll probably never happen, but that would be an interesting way to bring back ECW full-time.....

Yep. From what I understand, Bret was asking people backstage if they knew how to do "that move that Sting does" and Konnan showed it to him.

And as the big ECW mark I am i refuse to comment on this untill I see. Not that I don't have faith, but if it's like a half hour stint before Raw or SD! instead of a 2 hour (or at least 1 hour) weekly show, then whats the point. not everyone's going to watch it on wwe.com or ecw.com. i know myself & (i think) NDX can't becuase we both have dialup.

Reports indicate that Kurt Angle was said to have been in a lot of pain following last night's SmackDown! TV taping in London England. He was seen leaving Wembley Arena holding his arm and his shoulder. There is the possibility that Angle and WWE were just trying to work the fans, however WWE officials threw up the "X" sign (usually a sign that a wrestler has suffered a legitimate injury) after the cameras stopped rolling at last night's show. The possible injury came as a result of the running splash through the table at the hands of Mark Henry.

It should be noted that Kurt Angle is currently working through a serious neck injury that should be keeping him out of action for several months and is said to be in pain and severe discomfort on most days as it is.

Lesnar/WWE settle lawsuit

by Dave Meltzer

Dave@wrestlingobserver.com

Brock Lesnar and WWE have reached a settlement agreement on the non-compete lawsuit.

Lesnar was looking to get out of his non-compete for anything related to sports entertainment as well as ultimate fighting through the year 2010, world wide.

Terms were not announced. Lesnar will be able to participate in wrestling and ultimate fighting with certain agreed upon restrictions, as it was not a full victory to Lesnar. While not stated, it is believed he would not be allowed to work for TNA. Lesnar is said to be considering doing MMA, now that he is legally able.

Spanky and London are 2 of the best workers on the roster and i think they will take the belts off MNM thats why Gymini are getting put over every week to make them ready to chase Spanky and London

MNM will move to RAW this year IMO
London and spanky aren't 2 of the best workers on the roster. At least they haven't shown that to me in their wwe run. Angle is a good worker, JBL is a good worker, Hunter is a great worker, Carlito is a good worker, val venis is a good worker. Flying around the ring doesn't make someone a great worker. Telling a story in the ring, being good with match psychology, drawing the crowd into the match and keeping them on the edge of their seats makes a good worker. Again, it's entirely possible that London and spanky are good workers, I just haven't seen that in their wwe run.

Telling a story in the ring, being good with match psychology, drawing the crowd into the match and keeping them on the edge of their seats makes a good worker. Again, it's entirely possible that London and spanky are good workers, I just haven't seen that in their wwe run.

I said 2 of the best workers on the roster because i know they can work and have seen it from them in ROH as well as London's run with CW title in WWE
Your post actually sounds like a post ive made on wrestling forums over and over about what a good worker is but it is misplaced this time

Terry Brunk better known as Sabu has officially signed a WWE contract last night.

Sabu was currently working for TNA Wrestling and is better known for his appearances with ECW in the 1990’s.

The contract which Sabu signed with WWE will last for one year with an option to renew the contract at the end of the year’s deal.

Edge is an entertaining heel and I'd love to see him with the title again after that awesome first reign. But I don't think he has a chance in hell. Triple H saw the ratings that Edge was pulling in and obviously got jealous that he was a more effective heel. But,I could be wrong.

You know, I kind of liked the old Cena a lot. I mean, I loved the Basic Thuganomics theme and his frequent raps. But honestly, Cena really can't go back to rapping freestyle or doing anything like that now. It helped him get over, but he needs to do something different now. He's basically gone beyond being a rapper, which was something that would never last anyways. I mean, the longevity of him remaining a rapper was never going to be permanent....

And like I said before, you can't have a much better heel than Cena right now. The majority of the people want the belt off of him as quickly as possible. And they'll probably watch every match in the hopes that Cena loses the title or gets punked out.

The ariel moves are their big spots, but not all they do. When your given 4 minute matches on Velocity, CW battle royals & CW matches that get interuptted by JBL, you need to pull out your best in that time to get over with the (mostly uninformed) WWE crowd. I have only one ROH dvd & what I saw Spanky do was breathetakng . I think at Judgement day (unless they give them a title match on SD!) I think you will see something different. Sure, there'll be high spots, but also more.
(notice how no one here calls him Brian Kendrick, that's because he's always gonna be the sociopathec club kid{inspiration for my character} in ROH)

Striker could be a good mouthpiece for the eternally dumb Chris Masters...:o

The wrestling fan in me says no good can cme from that.

Y'know, I feel bad for Cena. He's only doing his job and what he's told to do and everyone seems to be turning on him because it's "the thing to do" now. I'm not his biggest fan, but to hear him be basically booed out the building while he's trying so hard to be a face has gotta suck for him. I'm calling it right now, as soon as he becomes a heel again (like he was when he first started his gimmick) all the little WWE sheep fans will cheer him like crazy.

I'm more into Kane's push, even though it's probably just to hype up his movie, and the nods to DX by Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

The championship stuff is just meh. I respect Triple H as a wrestler although he's still at the top since he married into the family. With Edge, I've not forgotten what he did to Matt Hardy but I'm not sure if it was just a worked shoot. Bottom line, you don't steal another man's woman. The only thing that Cena has impressed me with is his ability to consistently deliver horrible promos.

The thing I hate most about Cena in my opinion is how he come through the current. He's so overhyped and waving his arms around like a madman. He should stroll out like the "gangsta" he's supposed to be. Oh yeah, and more rapping. He's cut that out all together now, and now sounds more like a "Rock" clone. His rap insults was what set him apart from the crowd and gain the fans he had.

Triple H on the other hand is just annoying to me. I'd probably be successful if I was banging my boss' daughter who is one of the heads of her daddy's company. This man has "killed" wrestlers pushes left and right (RVD, Booker T, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Test, etc, etc, etc).

I think what he was saying is Booker T and RVD were red hot during that time and were supposed to go over on H, only to have H deny them and bury both of them in the process.

In Triple H's defense though it's not entirely his fault. Sure, he could've done the right thing and put them over, but as he said, everything goes through Vince and if anything, Vince is to blame more than H should ever be. I realized this myself and what happened in the past is McMahon's fault for not recognizing talent or when they were insanely over.

And Booker T has had great matches in the past. He had classics with Benoit, Saturn, Eddie Guerrero, and even a good match with the Undertaker at one point.

I agree about HHH making a good transition. I am sure I will be very anti-HHH again soon (and I'm not pulling for him in this feud, either). But, he hasn't had the title in over a year, and there has actually been a good storyline building up to him winning the title (if he goes over in the 3-way match). So yeah, if he wins at the ppv, I probably wouldn't be TOO pissed (although Edge has so much more to gain from winning) and having face HHH chasing after the belt).

Yep, that rap gimmick could only take him so far. Cena has basically pushed beyond that at the moment. I mean, there's basically very little of the rapper Cena left now - no chains, no throwbacks, no freestyles....and I've kinda grown on it. He's at that transition phase right now and when he turns fully heel, that's when everything will be complete.

I really liked Booker T from WCW and Harlem Heat, all the way to about the time after Wrestlemania XX. Afterwards, His character has been written very poorly. I wouldn't mind a CM Punk type heel turn for Cena. In ROH people were starting to boo Punk and he would come down and ask if there was anyone that had the balls to throw up their arms in the form of an X. Kinda similar to Diesel's turn, too.

Classics is way overused,Booker has never been in a classic in his life and the reason he never went over at WM19 was twofold, one he isnt good enough or over enough to carry the company and two WWE signed Goldberg just prior to Mania and wanted to keep the belt on HHH to set up the money match of Goldberg/HHH

Nice video (even though only a 3rd of it loaded for me).

It's interesting to note that Raven's official website, TheRavenEffect.com, has the ECW logo partially displayed in the upper left hand corner of the entrance page. Raven is still under contract to TNA.

The webmaster of Sabu's official website, OfficialSabu.com, had this to say in the following e-mail. "I wanted to let you know I just got off the phone with Sabu and he has signed a one year contract with the WWE. It's now being reported at www.officialsabu.com."

WWE officials have talked to and/or offered contracts to The Sandman, Ball Mahoney, Francine, Lance Storm and Justin Credible.

The standard contracts being sent out to former ECW stars for this new ECW project are one year deals with an option for two rollover years at WWE's discretion.
