Kurt Angle is expected to be kept out of action by WWE and the upcoming SmackDown taping next week in Cincinnati. Angle got pretty banged up at the SmackDown taping on Saturday night in London, but still managed to work House Show events afterwards. One report is indicating that JBL will replace Angle at the SmackDown tapings next Tuesday when Mysterio vs. Angle vs. Henry was originally promoted.

Following his performance at the RAW taping on Friday in London that aired last night, Steve Lewington is expected to be signed by WWE. Lewington had previously been under contract with WWE and in OVW back in 2004.

RAW RATING DROPS, SMACKDOWN EVEN WORSE - FULL WWE RATINGS REPORT

This week's edition of Raw did a 4.1 cable rating, with a 6.2 share. That is down from last week's 4.3. The show did hours of 4.1 and 4.2, but this was one of those weeks when it actually rounds down, not up.

The original airing of AM Raw did a 0.4 cable rating, with a 1.1 share. As has been the recent case lately, the 2 a.m. replay did a better number, scoring a 1.1 cable rating, with a 4.6 share. Boy, wouldn't that be a great slot for an ECW show?

The 4/21 edition of Smackdown did its worst number in recent memory, scoring just a 2.1 broadcast rating, with a 3.8 share. The show has been hurt by preemptions since baseball season started, but even at that, a 2.1 is really, really low.


A.M. Raw does just as good as Impact. Thats strangely funny to me.

A DX return, whether liked or not, will most likely help them with their ratings problems. Majority of people want to see a reunion. It wouldn't even be back for a long period of time. Just to help Trips turn face, while Cena turns heel.

The problem I have with a new DX is that I enjoyed DX version 2, the one with the Outlaws, X-Pac, etc. As it looks now, it may be just HBK and HHH for a while. Not even Chyna would be with them. I don't really see anyone fitting with those two either. I... I just don't know. :(

Triple H is on the verge of turning face and getting such major negative heat on him conflicts with that. John Cena also doesn't need that negativity while he's already fighting on a weekly basis for the fans approval. Edge has little history with RVD and minimal history with ECW. Edge's only history with ECW was appearing at last year's One Night Stand PPV as part of the anti-ECW crusaders. The leader of that pack was John Bradshaw Layfield. He was the most outspoken about ECW last year and it is expected that his tirade will pick up once again very shortly, making him the perfect target for RVD.

At the end of some meetings yesterday, Vince McMahon decided that ECW will be taking the place of WWE Velocity.

For the time being, an ECW show will be taped prior to Smackdown every Tuesday. The ECW program will air on WWE.com (or probably actually ECW.com) for the time being, at least until it lands a time slot on U.S. television. WWE are currently in negotiations in an attempt to get ECW programming on U.S. television.

At the present moment, Velocity would cease to exist. This television programming move must be devastating news to the likes of The Gymini, Orlando Jordan, Scotty 2 Hotty and Sylvan. These wrestlers generally only compete on Velocity for the most part, not to mention that they don't have any ties to ECW. However, WWE are looking to regularly run some ECW shows at some 2,000-6,000 seat arenas in smaller markets starting in July, especially in the Northeast. Velocity would probably be brought back if and when the ECW tapings are held at the smaller arenas.

Besides, the only truly lame angle the E is pushing right now is the Vince/God thing. whoooo, MARIA!! i actually caught that divas do new york special the other day. there was so much hotness involved i barely kept my composure. i highly doubt that wwe is gonna be taping ecw shows before smackdown. it just doesn't sound like it would work and it doesn't sound like something that heyman and the rest of the boys would go along with. with talk of ecw coming back, there's like 42 different rumors everyday pertaining to how exactly it's gonna happen, so rather than speculate i'm just gonna wait for one night stand and we'll see what happens from there. oh, and lex luger looked sooo old on impact last night and buff looked more like fluff.

Why the f**k does Henry have to come in like that when cleary his fued ended with Angle a long time ago?! It's wrestlers like Henry that get me so mad like this dammit. Kurt Angle is so badass. :( I was so looking foward to how the match would turn out plain and simple and they pull this again? Literally!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now Angle is out of action cuae of what happened and it sucks!!! I hope Angle comes back with a mutha f***in vengeance and gives Henry what he deserves.

I don't know if it was in the ring or outside. Doesn't it also have a 10 - 20% fatality rate if not caught fast enough?

Staph has the high mortality rate, yes. Not sure about the percentage though. MRSA is like "super saiyan staph" so that percentage drops even more. It'd suck if he really did catch it in the ring. After hearing about Taker possibly getting Hep C from the ring and now this, maybe the ring should be better protected...

Kurt Angle has suffered a cracked rib. As a result of the injury, the Wrestling Machine will now be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.

The injury originally occurred on the recent European tour when Mark Henry delivered the World’s Strongest Slam to Angle during a match in New Castle. “At that point, I wasn’t even sure if I was going to be able to compete against Mysterio for the World Heavyweight Championship,” Angle later admitted to WWE.com. But being the intense competitor that he is, Angle kept his injury to himself and fought valiantly for the title he feels he rightfully deserves.

Unfortunately for Angle, the final straw came when Henry, perhaps realizing he injured Angle earlier in New Castle, dismantled the Wrestling Machine on SmackDown with a near 400-pound splash through a ringside table.

Just as he did to former World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Henry injured Angle to the point where he will now be out of action indefinitely, meaning he must forfeit his spot in the King of the Ring tournament. As a result, Booker T advances to the final round.

SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has announced the main event for Judgment Day, which will take place Sunday, May 21, at the U.S. Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. The self-proclaimed American Hero, and United States Champion, JBL will challenge the biggest underdog World Heavyweight Champion in the history of sports-entertainment – Rey Mysterio.

JBL issued the challenge last week on SmackDown during his United States Championship celebration. “I took a Championship off your two buddies, Chris (Benoit) and Eddie (Guerrero). You’re the third, amigo,” said the cocky JBL. “That thing is bigger than you,” he said about the World Heavyweight Championship on Rey’s shoulder. “That thing will look really good on my right shoulder with (the U.S. Championship) on my left.”

Mysterio has admitted that his Championship reign can end at any time. The 5 foot 6, 165 pound champion may be small in stature, but his enormous heart cannot be overlooked. Although Rey’s miracle reign as champion can come to an abrupt halt at any time, one thing is for sure – the master of the 619 will give it everything he’s got. Will it be enough, though, when he faces JBL at Judgment Day?

Former ROH Pure Champion, Jay Lethal returns to the Combat Zone and will return in a big way, being the 12th man in this year's Best of the Best. Lethal has no alliance with anyone in CZW, but is hell bent on screwing over the ROH wrestlers in the tournament after what ROH did to him.
