Dave Meltzer reports that Mark Henry's WWE contract has been extended. Henry signed a 10 year contract with the WWE back in 1996 after he competed in the Olympics for $1 million dollars a year. Henry's new deal is not guarenteed and lasts through 2007. His money has been cut down from $1 million a year dollars to $300,000 a year.

Earlier this week, New Jack stated at indy show that he signed with WWE to work for the new ECW. At the moment, his statements don't seem to be true. What is known is that New Jack had some legal issues which prevented him from signing for last year's ECW PPV.


Masato Tanaka and Tajiri are expected to be offered contracts. WWE will attempt to use them as much as they would agree to work in the U.S. WWE are also thinking about bringing in Ikuto Hidaka. Hidaka is currently one half of the NOAH's GHC Jr. Heavyweight tag team champions along with Minoru Fujita.

It has been confirmed that Jimmy "Akio" Yang has signed a new contract with WWE. Akio wrestled Charlie Haas on HEAT prior to last week's Raw tapings in Columbus, Ohio. His old Titantron video and theme music played when he made his entrance. Haas picked up the win over Akio. He is living in the Columbus, Ohio area, which is why he was there in the first place, and he was hoping to rejoin WWE.

Akio's work has always been praised - even Vince McMahon personally praised him during a meeting once - however, he was originally fired last July because the WWE creative team never had any ideas for him. Akio is probably best known for being Tajiri's bodyguard - along with Ryan Sakoda - and for his series of incredible matches with Paul London on Velocity in 2004 and 2005.

Akio will finish out his remaining independent dates before he makes his return to WWE. He may be a part of the relaunching ECW brand this time around.

Glad to see Yang back in WWE, and hopefully they will allow him more time to shine. He is a good performer and just needs the right matches to show it (preferably singles matches).

You really are just a hater. Since following the business end of wrestling, I've learned that it's usually never smart to burn bridges. WWE has been nick-named BIG TIME for a reason. If I were a wrestler now, I'd most definitely accept a contract for WWE. Regardless of how I feel about most of the people in management and whatnot, it's where the money is. You have to remember that this is their job after all. They all need money.

Jeff coming back could be interesting, especially if they pair him up with Matt. Just more good competition for the SD! tag team, and an actual direction for Matt.
