Supergirl: Pre- or Post-Crisis?
JonTron
04-27-2004, 05:50 PM
Man, if I had Ms. Tesmacher's fine ass begging me to go to Jersey, and I had to agree to it to get her to jump in the pool, I'd go for Jersey first. Otherwise, CA's the home state.
Let's see....... Zod, Non, and Ursa.........or Zod, Quex-Ul, and Zoara (sp? I know Superboy has some issues handy, mine are at home)
Superboy

Zod, Quex-Ul, and Zoara (no extra SUPERMAN II powers).
Supergirl: Pre- or Post-Crisis?
JonTron

Pre- Crisis Supergirl. Although it takes away from the whole 'Last survivor' thing, I love Kara
Lois and Clark- Star crossed lovers or bitter rivals (at first)
rdh007
04-27-2004, 06:01 PM
Playfully bitter rivals. Lois should want to get the scoop on Clark (and should with help from "Superman" ;)) all the time. But she should never not like Clark Kent.

JonTron

Ooh, I usually let the used ones go, but I have to jump in on an old one.
Miss Tessmacher, all the way! That b*tch is so fine.......alright, that's enough.
Gerard Christopher, I never liked Newton.

Wait till the sequel. He'll have enough to do in the first film, and when he wants get get away from Metropolis, he should just go back home.
By the time of the second film, he will have really come into his own, and won't have to make as many trips back home for advice. He can get his own place then. ;)

POS. Prophecies are for D&D kids who think something is a myth only if it has someone wearing sandals. Superman is a classic contemporary American myth, it doesn't need some idiotic bull to try to fit into the LotR craze, it can stand on its own.

Superman Special Edition or Theatrical release?

Hey, I just did a search for the Goo Goo Dolls to see if there was a thread yet about their new album and somehow THIS thread showed up in the search. I didn't know it still existed. But since it does, I figured I'd bump it because I remember it being fun and since we have a Superman movie finally coming out next momth, there is a lot of new stuff we could talk about.
So...
Theatrical release. The SE was cool, but the added scenes weren't really needed.

Sorry for messing up the game, but I wanted to say this is mostly correct for me, except the part immediately after Superman reveals himself to the world and is at the FOS talking to his father. It's such an intelligent and moving scene, and I love how Jor-el explains the importance of maintaining a secret identity.

I haven't seen Spacey's Lex, but i know that it is better than Hackman's because Lex in SR will be darker and evil not having a sense of humor only sometimes though. Since i haven't seen Spacey's performance i'll only comment on how great he looks as Lex. So my vote goes to Spacey.

Agreed, that was a good scene... but I have a problem with the very end of it, which is why I think it was cut from the original film. Having Superman attempt to embrace the floating image of his father's head just looked really silly and felt forced, at least to me. Still, everything else about that scene was great, so yeah, I am glad I have the special edition just so I could see that scene.
