trust me, Storm cannot pull that off...early on she had a hard time generating hurricanes and tornadoes...so even with a power up (which im sure writers have given her) freezing all of NYC is not within her power........Iceman on the other hand could...maybe

Kmack
11-07-2003, 03:46 PM
I don't thik its the entire NYC.

Storm can:p She's the most powerful Mutant

thats 2 below her power i dont think she would waist her time doing that... she is powerful enough to summon a galactic core (millions of stars) and becoming the center of that power (read UXM 165) that gives u a hint of how powerful she is... that stunt would be classified under cosmic...n yes Storm has made a hurricane on one entire hemisphere i'm sure she could pull that off..

She could do it. I have no doubts :) But...I think she's probally end up dying, or going into a coma after doing that...It'd cause too much strain on her system. Still, she can do it. :D

All I remember about Jean from TAS was that she was the character who screamed and got stressed out a lot.

Oh, you poor, pitiful fools. Of course you must realize that Jean was weak in X-Men for one reason and one reason only...to fully demonstrate the universal truth that she went from being the weakest X-Man to the most powerful in the blink of an eye. Poor, pitiful fools.

I think Iceman would have a more difficult time freezing the whole of New York than Storm. At least it would take longer. With a mean ass blizzard Storm could easily do that. Iceman DID freeze the Empire State building during the whole Inferno crossover, but thatīs alot different from the whole of New York.
Storm can cover a much larger area than Iceman.

Red Mask
11-10-2003, 06:40 AM
Back during the X-Factor days, Iceman lost control of his power and needed special belt to handle it. So if it was that Iceman he could freeze a whole city just as quickly as Storm. Also he gets his ice from the surrounding moisture. That's why when he used his power it was noted that those around him felt dry and thirsty.

Acro
11-10-2003, 08:29 AM
He had just gained some control over his powers when he did this. Right after he had captured the Hulk in a solid block of ice.

To answer this question you first have to state the time period she'd have to accomplish it.
Storm can't flash-freeze anything. She needs time to summon arctic winds and lower temperatures. So given enough time and working within reason I'm sure she could do it - if nobody is trying to stop her from doing it of course.

Iceman can freeze a whole town, I don't know about a whole city though.

Storm could do it!!

All it would take is a blizzard and NYC would be frozen.

She can alter the weather (not just a small lightning bolt or a little bit of wind)

Lisea
11-12-2003, 02:44 PM
Maybe, but what would be the side effects for such a drastic change in nature?

dark_phoenix03
11-12-2003, 02:54 PM
Probably a heatwave in the Arctic, flash flooding in the Sahara.

Ororo wouldn't do it......but she could if she wanted to.

NY has had many blizzards and never ended up like that... It would take much more than just a mere blizzard

demitri_vampiro
11-13-2003, 05:54 PM
not a small blizzard, but if storm would make it last for a coupple of days or weeks, well than it is possible.

Endeavor
11-13-2003, 06:15 PM
and that's why I mentioned the TIME factor in my previous post

The thing in common with both Iceman and Storm is that they are both humans and need energy to pull feats just like that. Iceman may be able to pull off freezing the Empire state building but not the whole city. You also have to understand is that New YOrk City is made up of five islands. You didn't specify which island. Although you did say city. Iceman may have speed on his side, but Storm has range. Also, I did look at the picture and it looks like Storm's doing due to the height of the snow not ice. However, it looked like it may have occured for days or even months depending on the strength of the blizzard.

I think it depends, because if storm could control the weather then she could just make it never stop snowing.

Kmack
11-16-2003, 08:30 AM
Yeah, what I meant to say if she tried to do it all at once, it would probably be too much force on her.

deadfreakof666

your krazy Storm once controlled a hurricane over 1 hemisphere she never died.

the a1ant
11-16-2003, 10:48 AM
It takes mental energy for Storm to do all those things. She doesn't simply lift her hands, and viola. With that power, comes a toll. She isn't mother nature, and Mrs. Nature would be damned to let her have that much control w/o some downfall ;) :D

Yep i remember the issue when she summoned the energy of that galactic core. But what are u talking about with the hurricane?
