yes, the spyware and the fact that it does indeed take up a crap load of space to run are the downsides. If I knew of any other "free" programs that are just as easy and effective I would gladly use those over Limewire (not like I'm a limewire fan or anything, it's just there until something else makes itself available).

it does meet my needs for music when I'm working out and Taboo Porn :twisted:

For the animated wallpaper you need MS Dreamscene. I think it requires you have either Vista (which I have) or the Windows 7 Beta.

To get rid of all the icons, you just right click on the desktop, then go to view, and uncheck "show icons." Just make sure you have everything you need down in your quick launch or another toolbar on the start menu, for easy access.

I know only if you have Ultimate that you can do it, and it's rather CPU intensive I do believe, but it's been awhile since I read up on it. But I know there is hacks out there for Home Prem. and such. Never done it myself, for I never thought it was worth it.

That's a common misconception. You can right click on a Mac. I do it all the time. You put two fingers on the touch pad and click [if you're on a laptop], and you can use a windows-based mouse [even the mac ones work for that too].

You can also enable touch-to-click. It's in preferences :)

Personally, I like the Macbook Pro's. But those are much more expensive. Definitely think of it as something for when you graduate HS.

well my personal experience may differ but i had XP on a very low end PC (it was a 2000 HP) so having my new fast computer i can tell you its great
plus i bought it from Dell which is doing a program where if you buy one of their system you get Windows 7 for free
so im not complaining

Haha, calm down... I'm not saying one brand is better over the other. I chose Mac mostly because I adore the OS, and the visual and musical editing power is really good for what I do. :)

I don't understand why more people aren't using it really. It seems like most people are using AVG, and while I don't think it is bad (I never had any issues with it during the time I used it) I do think that with each new release it becomes more and more bloated.

On top of all of that a test was done to see how each free anti-virus program would stand up to multiple attacks, and I recall Avast beating AVG.

Avast is very efficient, and it has some major protection. Hard to believe it is free actually.

i use avg mostly because i have it up til 2018 and it's been really good to me. i'm not sure if i've ever used avast, but i do know i hate Zone Alarm. i also swear by CCleaner, and malwarebytes.com

I couldn't agree more. :up: I use it on my Mac and on my netbook, and so far *knocks on wood* I haven't had any problems.
