It's Windows XP with a lot of modifications. Microsoft's OS treats me fine in general, but they're design hacks. I've looked into Linux, but it doesn't seem worth the hassle. I don't like what I hear about Vista though, and I'm not enough of a hipster for Mac, so I may be switching to Linux once XP isn't supported anymore.

Sure. The Mac-ish icon dock is called Objectdock (http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/). The normal version is free. You drag shortcuts onto it to make new entries. It automatically uses the default icons, but they don't resize that well, so if you search Deviantart for "[program name] dock icon" you can usually find some bigger, cooler ones.

I patched the UXTheme.dll (I'd have to search for a program to do that, but I could if you want) so I could use themes. The one I'm using now is called "XMPC". Once again, from Deviantart. If you navigate to "most popular" under Customization > Skins & Themes > Windows Utilities > Visual Styles you can find some good ones like Area04 and Foton and Thallos.

Side widget dock is Yahoo Widget engine, which I used to not use for being kind of ugly but it has since gotten cooler in its new version. I just hide the full versions of the widgets (the ugly part IMO, at least to have them onscreen all the time) and just have the compact mini-versions in the dock.

Hahah, woOoOord. :cmad: Anyway, couldn't handle Ubuntu as a main OS so I downloaded Vista. If I get a laptop that isn't a Mac I'll definitely be using Ubuntu though, it's just that it didn't have the stuff I wanted to use easily available. And... Vista is really sexy with its gimmicks. :heart::heart::heart:

If you use it at full animation quality it does a little bit. You can change the settings so it uses less RAM, it just ends up being a little choppier. I run it on full settings on my so-so laptop and it's fine. Unless I'm running a really high end game, at which point I just turn it off until I'm done, it's full screen anyway.
