No. Tell me about God vs. Satan.

God vs. Satan
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth
was void, without form, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And Satan said, "It doesn't get any better than this."

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God said,
"Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the
fruit tree yielding fruit," and God saw that it was good.

And God said, "Let us make Man in our image, after our likeness, and
let him have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of
the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and over every creeping thing upon the earth."

And Satan said, "There goes the neighborhood."

And so God created Man in his own image; male and female created He
them. And God looked upon Man and Woman and saw that they were lean
and fit.

And God populated the earth with broccoli and cauliflower and spinach,
green and yellow vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live
long and healthy lives.

And Satan said, "I know how I can get back into this game."

And Satan created McDonald's. And McDonald's brought forth the 99-cent
double cheeseburger. And Satan said to Man, "You want fries with
that?"

And Man said, "Super size them." And Man gained 5 pounds.

And God created the healthful yogurt, that Woman might keep her figure
that Man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth chocolate. And Woman gained 5 pounds.

And God said, "Try my crispy fresh salad."

And Satan brought forth Ben & Jerry's. And Woman gained 10 pounds.

And God said, "I have sent thee heart-healthy vegetables and olive oil
with which to cook them."

And Satan brought forth chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own
platter. And Man gained 10 pounds and his bad cholesterol went
through the roof.

And God brought forth running shoes and Man resolved to lose those
extra pounds.

And Satan brought forth cable TV with remote control so Man would not
have to toil to change channels between ESPN and ESPN2. And Man
gained another 20 pounds.

And God said, "You are running up the score, Satan."

And God brought forth the potato, a vegetable naturally low in fat and
brimming with nutrition.

And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center
into chips and deep-fried them. And he created sour cream dip also.
And Man clutched his remote control and ate the potato chips swaddled
in cholesterol.

And Satan saw and said, "It is good." And Man went into cardiac
arrest.

And God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.

And Satan created HMOs.

God vs. Satan

Pilate answered and said to them again, "What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?" So they cried out again, "Crucify Him!" (Mark 15:12-13 NKJV)

At a casual reading of this area of Scripture, one might erroneously construe that the crowd determined the crucifixion of Christ. His fate seemed to be in their hands. It did not have to be a death sentence; within the realm of possibilities there could have been a display of mercy that would have just required His scourging and release. Or they could have required Him to be beaten, and then imprisoned for a period of time, or even for the remainder of His life. There were endless options of punishment that could have been considered in the answer to Pilate's question. Oddly enough, the crowd unanimously chose the harshest, most hardhearted alternative of all possible scenarios. How did this happen?

It has well been said that in a world created and managed by a sovereign God, there are no coincidences. The overwhelming and undisputed decision to crucify Christ was orchestrated by heaven through the diabolic dictates of hell. Satan had been watching and waiting for 6,000 years for the Seed of the woman to step foot on earth. His schemes to destroy the royal bloodline had failed at every turn against God's providential preservation of a righteous remnant.

When the devil attempted to get Abraham off track with Sarah's harebrained decision to help God out by having a baby with Hagar, God countered by opening Sarah's womb and delivering the son of promise. When he attempted to wipe out the Israelite's bloodline by murdering all the male children in Egypt, God countered with a baby in the brushes named Moses. And when he waited in the desert for the weakest moment of Jesus' human existence to tempt the Righteous One into unrighteous acts of self-will, God countered with His written Word, spoken by His Living Word. The Bible then records that Satan left Him for a more opportune time. And this was that time. He had been plotting and planning, strategizing and striking, conniving and concocting until this moment in time. Now, he has the Son of God right where he wants Him - at the mercy of an unmerciful mob controlled by their fleshly appetites and completely oblivious to the driving force of the demonic influence he wields upon their wicked hearts. This was no chance choice by a fickle throng. This was a carefully construed, master manipulation of mankind by the powers and principalities of hell that the apostle Paul warns us we wrestle against:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)

The rules of the game are black and white, dark and light, death and life, with no in-between. God has determined and decreed them that way, and Satan has perpetrated and played them that way. In a world sovereignly controlled by God, there are no coincidences. Every crossroad has been designed by the enemy to defeat us and by our Lord and Savior to complete us. The choice is ours. By the grace of God, we can choose Christ and win.

This is a bit off from Spawn's original topic, but we're still learning. :)

Most turtles that are carnivorous eat animals that were already killed or some types of fish, since they don't have many ways to kill prey themselves. Species of carnivorous turtles include snapping turtles, ornate box turtles, mud turtles and musk turtles. Quite a few carnivorous turtles have become more omnivorous recently, though.

Al Frocks

why have they become more omnivorous recently?

X-Chick
05-31-2004, 10:37 PM
It's not known for fact, but presumably because they had a time finding prey and many just adjusted to their surroundings. If they live in a place where there are most plants, then they will eventually start to eat the plants as well as meat.

The ocean reflects the blueness from the sky.

Danalys
06-01-2004, 12:34 AM
water is slightly blue even with out the reflection of the sky.

Danalys
06-01-2004, 12:37 AM
no it's just off clear. i'll find a link to the science of how it was discovered to be slightly blue if you want.

X-Chick
06-01-2004, 05:27 AM
Water has an intrinsic color, and this color has a unique origin. This intrinsic color is easy to see, as can been seen in the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas and in Colorado mountain lakes. Pure water and ice have a pale blue color, best seen at tropical white-sand beaches and in ice caves in glaciers (green colors are usually derived from algae). It is neither due to light scattering (like the sky), nor dissolved impurities (e.g., Cu2+). Because the absorption which gives water its color is in the red end of the visible spectrum, one sees blue, the complementary color of orange, when observing light that has passed through several meters of water. This color of water can also be seen in snow and ice as an intense blue color scattered back from deep holes in fresh snow.

Water owes its intrinsic blueness to selective absorption in the red part of its visible spectrum. The absorbed photons promote transitions to high overtone and combination states of the nuclear motions of the molecule, i.e. to highly excited vibrations. To our knowledge the intrinsic blueness of water is the only example from nature in which color originates from vibrational transitions. Other materials owe their colors to the interaction of visible light with the electrons of the substances. Their colors may originate from resonant interactions between photons and matter such as absorption, emission, and selective reflection or from non-resonant processes such as Rayleigh scattering, interference, diffraction, or refraction, but in each case, the photons interact primarily or exclusively with electrons.

X-Chick
06-01-2004, 11:17 AM
And which three would that be? I am assuming I am one of them, but I don't like to go on assumptions.

Danalys

Because to him, tactile experiences are not as pleasurable as mental ones.

X-Chick

Hmm....

Okay, last question: why does he say that he doesn't want me to talk to him if it's not because he doesn't like me?

I haven't given up, but he's really persistent. Almost to the point of making me think its really not worth it, which it probably isn't, but I am not a quiter, so giving up is not an option.

Every time it seems like things are going okay or getting better, he does something like that. Either something to piss me off or something to make really curious and he never gives me a straight answer. He frustrates me more than anyone on this bloody site and I keep coming back for more. I am really begining to wonder if I've lost my mind.

Anyway, thanks Lee. :)

C. Lee
06-01-2004, 06:37 PM
If you don't like what he asks or says to you....change the subject. When he and I started talking...I came on to just have fun...I didn't take him seriously....I talked about my wife and kid, my job and the movies I watch....but I did it friendly and intelligently....and we still talk a lot.

X-Chick
06-01-2004, 06:46 PM
I think it would've helped had we gotten off to a normal start, but I pretty much disliked him the first few times I talked to him. Oh, you were there, on the thread to Joey. Regardless, I still like the guy, still not sure why, but I do. And its not that I don't like what he says, its the fact that he says something and when I start to talk about whatever it is, he either ignores me or changes the subject. Did he ever purposely try to piss you off? I bet he was nicer to you. I still think he doesn't like me, but whatever. :)

C. Lee
06-01-2004, 06:58 PM
I think he purposely tries to piss everyone off.....if you don't get pissed and continue to talk to him, you'll find him very interesting.

C. Lee

You have to remember where you are........for most guys around here, if a girl just glances in thier direction....they're engaged.

X-Chick
06-01-2004, 07:07 PM
Haha, that's so true. Generally, that's only for the younger ones, though. Of course, two of the people who said that were just seeing what I'd say, but not sure about the other two. Oh well, I guess I am just a natural flirt, anyway and can't help it.

X-Chick

BLACK MAGIC, Voodoo, Evil Spells, Curses, Ghosts and Spirits
Black magic is the negative use of energies and power by jealous and malicious human beings of Kalyuga, whose main objective is to harm or deprive others from something, or influence them to do something wrong or negative. It is the evil side of the celestial cycle or negative energies.

Black Magic can be used to harm or hurt another person by performing certain acts even at a far away place - the effect of this technique can be experienced thousands of miles away. With increase of jealousy, frustration, greed, selfishness, negativity and inability to accept other's happiness & growth, the use of Black magic has become the most common way to take out one's vindictiveness and get an evil kind of satisfaction from the turmoil of others. This problem has intensified a lot in the last few years, and many are suffering all over the world, totally unaware of the attacks made by no other than their closest friends, acquaintances and relatives. Many prosperous and happy families are ruined by Black magic.

Symptoms of Black Magic
Black magic puts a block on a person's wisdom and intelligence and all efforts to solve the problem go fruitless. One feels a mental block, gets disturbed sleep with bad dreams, and negative thoughts. There is heaviness and weight on the heart and constriction in the throat.
At times, there could suddenly be blue marks on thighs without getting hurt, or faster & erratic heartbeat and breathing without any physical exertion. There are quarrels in the family without any reason. One might feel the presence of somebody in the house.

One feels one is not getting one's due and can achieve much more. One feels suffocated & restless in all circumstances, and is never at peace. One remains depressed, with lack of enthusiasm or desire to live & rise in life.

Effects of Black Magic

Black Magic can really play havoc with the life of the target person by destroying any aspect of life may it be career/business or wealth/prosperity, creating family problems or unnecessary tensions/phobias, adversely affecting children & family, creating chronic health problems, destroying mental peace, intelligence & happiness, cause inner turmoil, unrest & uncharacteristic/abnormal behavior and even cause unnatural deaths in extreme circumstances.

Black Magic not only affects the circumstances and future prospects of a person, but also deprives him materially of everything he was destined for, but also affects the psyche of the victim in such a way that one looses the will-power & mental energy to get out of the sinister situation one is in, and has no desire to live or rise in life.

The effects of Black Magic become more chronic, dangerous and fatal with time, if untreated, like a horrible disease. It starts spreading like a contagious disease, affecting the person's mind, brain, body, relationships, attitudes, work, money, marriage, career and everything in life.

Breaking or reversing Black Magic Spell

Putting a Black magic spell on someone is very easy for those knowing even a little bit of Tantrik siddhis/ voodoo. But to remove the spell and eliminate it's sinister effects needs lot of expertise, continuous & rigorous puja/worship and a combination Siddhis & Sadhna.

Gurude curses those doing Black Magic on innocent people and destroying their lives and happiness for years to come.

It's not about mastering it....it's all about not letting it master you. There is a natural flow to things in nature....summer leads to fall, which leads to winter, which moves on to spring and eventually back to summer. A human life also has it's seasons....periods of time that are good, not so good, bad, and eventually....back to good. The bad can get you down and make you feel as if there is no good things in life....but you have to know that they will come back around. As with anything in life...you must give it time to grow, for the seasons to change....for the storm to pass.

That's deep and it makes a lot of sense. But sometimes the bad times are just so hard...like suffocating. But I know that eventually it will pass, and that does make it somewhat easier. It just gets so frustrating sometimes. Life is so repetitive. When things finally start going really good, something has to happen to make it not so good, and it's always like that. But I guess you have to take the bad with the good.

And don't feel bad, I am from the country too. :)

C. Lee
06-05-2004, 09:39 AM
Yes, life is definately repetative....but the trick is to try and repeat the better times than the worse....it's not something that you can do 100% of the time...but with practice and knowlege, you can increase your good time percentage.

X-Chick
06-05-2004, 09:42 AM
I guess I will have to learn how because the bad seems to come around more than the good.

C. Lee
06-05-2004, 09:46 AM
Some bad is inevitable....some illnesses, acidents and the like....but others.....if you look back and remember what led up to it - getting angry over something, being quick to judge, etc...- you might be able to alter your future responses to similar situations, and thus lead to a better outcome.

X-Chick
06-05-2004, 09:50 AM
Yeah, most of it is stuff I can't control. But thanks, Lee. That helps.

C. Lee
06-05-2004, 10:05 AM
Spider Robinson wrote a good short story....it was about a guy who could see the future...if he say "saw you cut your finger while peeling an apple an hour from now"...he could not stop it from happening (without it becoming something worse that happens to you)...so instead he was always prepared with bandages and the like to help out quickly after someone was hurt.

So...even if you can't stop some of the bad things from happening....are there ways to prepare for it and have a cushion ready for yourself when you fall?

X-Chick
06-05-2004, 10:23 AM
Probably. I guess I could think about the future more, prepare myself for what could happen. I don't know. But at least now I know to work on it and that maybe it could stop some of the bad stuff from happening.
