5-7. . .niiiiiiiice. Did you watch ninjai yet? I'm thinking that style could combine nicely with a Tim Sales style(S:FAS). The site's quieting down a little, I may try to do some tests soon just as proof of concept. keep me posted, man. i checked out a few minutes of ninjai (been very busy)...the animation style looks very promising!! one thing i've noticed though about writing this....it's kinda hard for me to write about "hope"...usually, i write about the loss of hope and darker stuff...so this is actually good exercise, but hard :D

see, I've heard mixed things. I hear the books are hit n miss. some are great, others are lackluster. But I've been meaning to pick them up, especially with the film coming. Maybe this weekend.

A Dame To Kill For: PHENOMINAL!
The Big Fat Kill: Really Good!
That Yellow Bastard: PHENOMINAL!
Booze, Brauds, and Bullets: Picking it up today.
Family Values: Really good!
Hell and Back: dont have it yet...but i hear this book is the most lacking.

hey, if something is a DVD-Rom, does that mean it'll play on a regular DVD player? or does that mean it'll only play on a computer DVD player?

depends on the DVD player. Some more current DVD players will play/open them, along with VCD's. It won't hurt to try, but if it's just files, it'll only work on your PC.

well, the reason i ask is because on ebay i'm always looking for people selling the COMPLETE series runs of batman TAS and Superman TAS. and a guy is selling them fairly cheap and he says they're playable on DVD-Rom...but i dont want to bid if i cant play them on my dvd player (which is about a year and a half old). heres the link to one of the auctions:

hmm, not a lot of info there. You've got six days. . .email the guy and just ask him what's up. Ask if they're VCD's(and find out if your DVD will play VCD's), or if they're some PC format that only can be read on your computer. Might be helpful to simply ask what the file format is, then do a little research on your DVD player to see what formats it'll play. Or, if you've got an X-Box, I think it'll play it. . .but get more info from the guy first to see if you can get him to expand on his specs.

yeah, but it's too true.... There's a convention in Jersey right now of fat folks saying they're tired of diet crazes, and doctors telling them how thin they should be, and it's most important to be healthy... I laughed. . .they actually think looking like that pic above is HEALTHY. lol.
I think their group is called NAAFA or something. . .Nation Association for the Advancement of Fat Americans or something. . .I'll look it up. Only in america do you have fat people having fat conventions while other countries starve to death

no,if i fancy something i will have it.But i do not eat a lot of chocolate, and one thing that i have to ration myself with is crisps.I will only buy a couple of bags at a time, other wise i will go thru a 12 pack in a night. :( As for my meals it all depends.tonight i had a chinese so i had chicken in batter with sweet&sour sauce with chips.also chicken fried rice. What i do is only have a bit of fried rice and finish it off tomorrow. But monday and tuesday i had poached eggs on toast.then i may only have sandwhiches.Like i say it all depends on what i feel like.I do like my stake though.

Sounds like a high fat content:( - try getting chow mein from the chinese and no side orders. If oyu go sweet and sour stay away from the battered ones - its more fattening. Steak is cool though as long as its not too fatty. You should try and ration the stuff you really crave - crisps are really bad man - try and go a pkt a day. You should be getting stuck into pasta and rice most nights. Another good tip is dont eat after your dinner - snacking at night is a real weight gainer. Your doing really well to loose so far tho

I like Angelina, but Rhona Mitra will always be Lara Croft for me. I was really disappointed that they didn't use her in the film. Looks MUCH more like Lara than Angelina does.

That's what I'm saying.. everyone's going ape**** and all "we told you so" because Welling was offered the role. I didn't know that was really a big unexpected secret that they held the all-knowing key to. I thought everyone pretty much saw it as a given that he'd get offered the role. As I said elsewhere, I'd be more surprised if they NEVER offered it to him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Thanks to all of you for wishing me a Happy Birthday. I love you guys.
And as for my American Idol report:
This was the worst experience of my life. They held it at Cleveland Browns Stadium and approx. 20,000 people showed up to audition.
I waitied 12 hours in line just to get inside the stadium and registered. Once inside, you couldn;t bring any food or drinks - they all had to be purchased at the concession stands (i.e. $4 hot-dog, $5 slice of pizza, $3.50 bottle of water, etc.) Mind you, you couldn't line up before 6 am the day BEFORE the actual auditions, (even tho people did anyway) so once inside, the whole concourse of the stadium was filled with sleeping bags, blankets, pillows...anywhere there was open space, someone had claimed it for sleeping. And it was one hell of a hot ass day. I tried taking a nap (since there was really nothing else to do - there weren't even any chairs to sit in other that the stadium seats under the blazing hot sun) but all i did was lay there in a pool of my own sweat.
Finally, at 8 pm they told us that we didnt really have to sleep over at the stadium if we didn't want to. (Because they had previously told us that if we left we wouldnt be able to audition.) Luckily, I ran into my friend Aubrie who has an apartment 10 blocks away from the stadium, so me, her and 2 other friends walked back to her place, got some dinner and went to bed around midnight.
Up at 4 am.
Walk back to the stadium and arrive at 5:30 am. Auditions set to start at 8 am. When they finally do, it turns out to be the slowest and most unorganized event I had ever seen. In 2 hours thay had auditioned maybe 200 of 20,000 people.
Then came the rain.
This threw every plan they had out the window. Already behind schedule, the rain set them even farther back. In the past, Idol auditions were held indoors, once person at a time, with 2-3 judges. This time they were held outdoors, in the rain at 10 tents set up in one of the end-zones. By the time my friends and I reached the actual audition, they were taking people 3 at a time.
Now I have to stress this - it is hard enough to audition inside by yourself. But it is a LOT harder to audition outdoors with 2 other people, while there are 6 other groups of 3 waiting behind you, and other groups of 3 auditining on either side of you. Basically, it was you and 2 other people with about 100 others surrounding you and listening.
All in all I waited 36 hours to get in front of a judge and sing for less than 36 seconds. Only to be told that we were "all great singers - just not what they were looking for. Thanks for coming out. Goodbye."
It didnt bother me one bit that I hadn't made it to the following round. Not one bit. But who I really did feel bad for were some of the other people. I heard SO MANY talented singers yesterday - many FANTASTIC girls and guys - who were all told they werent what the show was lookign for. A lot of girls cried, and I felt really bad because their dream had been crushed. They tought they werent good enough.
And it was all bull****.
I ran into a friend who had made it to the 2nd round. We were told by the producers that the 20,000 would be narrowed down to about 900, and that today those 900 would be narrowed to about 300. Well, in all actuality, by the time it was all over, they hadnt taken more than 250 people - "they majority of which were BAD." (As quoted by a member of the registration staff.) After the success of William Hung, everybody just wants to be the next big joke, so the majority of the people that came out (and the majority of people the made it) were there for all the wrong reasons.
As people went to the next round, they had to walk up the stairs through the section I was sitting in, and all the people around of course wanted to hear them sing (to see what kind of people were getting sent forward.) They sent on a transvestitie, a girl in a karate uniform, and a guy dress in drag, who, when asked to sing said, "Just watch it on tv. I dont want to ruin the joke." The joke?? I thought they were looking for the next American Idol, not the next BIG ASSH0LE.
So I say to you all - this show is nothing more than a huge farce. I'm not saying this because I'm bitter - not at all. I know I'm a good singer, or else I never would have been in the Ohio Boychoir, the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, or in a band that recorded a studio disc. And like I said, I heard plenty of others who were better singers than I am get cut. The best part about going was meeting these 4 girls from Michigan State University, all who were years younger than me, who adopted me since I was up there all by myself (I LOVE YOU GIRLS!)
So if you know anyone who is considering doing this, let them know my story. I dont want to dissuade anyone from trying out for this show, because had i never done it, I would have wondered "What if?" But now that I have experienced it, I see what a huge joke it all really is.

That place is a mess. Basically, rumour has it that Singer offered Welling the part... just like WB wanted McG to do and what Ratner did before him. People seem to think this is some sort of progress, when in fact its been like this all along. Some think he will take it this time. Others aren't as optimistic or pessimistic depending on which side of the fence you're on.
Why not cast Dean Cain in the role? That's what I say.

That's what I'm thinking. If he really wanted it he would have put on the tights for Ratner or McG.
There are certain things that upset me about the way in which WB go about casting. If Welling screen tests and wins it off his own back then so be it. No one will complain. But simply giving him the role simply because a TV show cast a model-turned-actor years before isn't the way to go. And we all know the standard casting procedure for prime time network TV. Get someone that looks good. Not to mention the fact that it seems like they're forcing the role on him.

It'd be pretty ironic if Welling took the part after everyone jumped on Singer's bandwagon and said that he'd save the project.
Truth be told, even though I'll be fine if Welling is cast (a couple shirt rips and a nice shot of his abs, I'll probably even smile watching the film), I didn't really want a "Smallville" connection with this movie ... I was hoping for an origin story, Superman starting his career between the ages of 23 - 27, but without the complete and utter nonsense (McG, suit in a can, Kryptonian villains looking like Ninja Turtles, going home to Krypton at the end, prophecies, and so forth). I didn't think they'd try to tie everything into the previous films and "Smallville" in terms of continuity.
But enough on that. I'm scared to look at the boards as well.

On another totally unrelated topic, I found this good bodybuilding site with a lot of good info it seems. I am still checking it out. But they have a message board and although most of the topic are really related to bodybuilding (more for men then women) and health and stuff, when they go bizarre, they really go bizarre. Between the hype and that board, I have learned more about men and what they think of women than I probably should know. Some is hilarious, some is shocking, and some is like ewww do guys really think like that. All in all I have had extensive education this year.
I should have had some brothers or a dad around. Only sisters and a mom and then working in a female dominated profession has left me woefully unprepared for the world that men inhabit.
I gotta get back over there:D You know to study;)

no. Here's the deal... Welling, I think, wants it. BUT he also wants to be treated with a little respect by WB. They're not doing that right now. They're treating him as an owned commodity. They think they can just throw superman on the table and he'll leap at it no matter WHAT the deal, even if it means him paying them for the privelage of doing it. But Welling ain't having that, and let's be honest, not many would. Wellings just trying to negotiate a real contract, and WB is trying to tell him what to do. So, he's been in the past doing the only thing he can, which is tell them no. It's not necessarily cause he doesn't want the part, it's more because the deals they're giving him are gonna shaft him, and he's just trying to get even a reasonable, fair deal. It sounds, however, like WB's lightened their stance a little in letting him do a 2 picture deal to match Singer's. He very well MAY take it this time, and it also tells me he realizes that the shaft deals were REALLY bad under guys like McG. This deal to match Singer's time on the project may look nice to him. He may actually care about this stuff a lot more than people give him credit for.
bottom line: the guy just wants a reasonably fair contract, you can't fault him for that, even if it is for the part of Superman.

ALSO: I know a lot of us would take a shaft deal to get to play superman, but would you really want a 3 pic or more deal with WB? Would you wanna play superman into a third movie, given WB's track record of RUINING superhero franchises on their third movie? I would love to play Supes, but not in a crappy Superman movie.

I agree completely, and that's probably another reason he wants a 2 pic deal, so he can get more dough for anything after that. Instead of getting locked to any numbers ahead of time.

So Tom is not the lite weight model turned actor everybody thinks he is. I knew it but I am glad to have evidence of this that even you guys are able to appreciate. I don't mean that facisiously either.
On another note, I am making progress with this AP book. And I gotta tell you the characters seem strangely familiar. But you will also say fu ck it an move on where as I think women tend to want to work on it a little more.
There is more. Now on the other site some of the things actually reinforced my more negative thoughts about men.
Seem like guys tend to think we are commodity to be had.
There were also discussions on approaches to oral sex. Who knew guys even discussed how when to bring it up to the woman in question?
There were also topics about gentleness versus roughness during well, you know. But the fact that it was being discuss was the intriguing part. I didn't think guys gave much thought to these and other topics let alone sought advice from each other.
The thread was listed as not to be read if under 18 so I am limited as to what I could say here but the real point is that you guys do think? I am sorry, I don't mean to sound like I think you are led around by you penis but I guess I thought you were. I am so enlightened.
But this site really does have good exercise and body building tips also. I don't intend to go for that girl body builder look cause I really don't have the body type for that. Just really strong and healthy with good body shaping muscle.
So I am buying a crap load of stockings and I hope I am not intimidating:D

I saw that you have taken up running. How are you doing with that? I used to run but my shins gave me fits. I will probably take it up again at sometime cause the fitness center at work has the cushioned floor.

Oh yes no doubt there is major impact difference in asphalt or concrete.
Did you try knee pads or wrapping them? I didn't do that but I was thinking it would keep the knees and shins stable and support them against the pounding.
Are you shoes new or fairly recent or have you got good running shoes? Or you might fancy a new inner sole like the gel ones that may reduce the impact.
I am going to try several of these things before I add the running again. But I will only run on that cushioned floor I think at least at first.

Hey Starbaby, I am sorry your well intentioned critique was poorly received. But there is a scripture that goes something like, 'Not casting your pearls before swine" If you look at the group of people you were talking to, they are not interested in the quality of work nor having you show it to them. Of course you can continue and somebody may actually take you to heart but I think mostly is there are not a group there to really move beyond their pitiful little insites. Yeah I susposed a nurse could do that. Of course she would want to check for a negative Homan' sign first to be sure you didn't have any clots in your leg first. Cause is you had a clot that maybe wasn't bothering you yet and she rubbed it it could become dislodged from the vein wall and then it would be an embolus and that could travel to you heart and or lungs and then you would probably die.
Still want that leg rub;)

see, i dont understand how it was harsh. it was the truth. these things were wrong with his writing, so i told him. i'm not insulting him, i'm telling him what wrong with his story so he could remedy the problem. its not like i was just like "that sucked" and left. negative criticism isnt meant to insult. i dont know why some people dont understand this. i LOVE negative criticism (from credible judges)...it lets me know what i need to fix to become better at what i'm doing. i dont know, maybe its because i come from art school and we criticise all the time. either way, if your gonna post something here, you need to know that people may not like what you post...and when that happens you dont throw a hissy fit about it. deal with it and move on. if he doesnt want to listen to what i had to say, fine...ignore it. but dont turn around and start childish name calling and telling me that i suck and my art sucks and that my writing sucks (which they have never read). they're just so damn immature.

Turns out all of the rumors about Welling being asked by Singer to play the role may have been premature. Now there's a casting call being held between August 16 and 20th for unknowns (in their late 20's) to play the role of Clark Kent/Superman in Bryan Singer's upcoming film.

if anyone wants my opinion, the casting call, which is VERY short, is a pseudo-backup. It's sort of a, "let's just run through once more and make sure we didn't miss anyone" sorta deal. Probably have their tests compared to welling. I think there's too much floating around about welling from too many opposite directions for it to suddenly all be false.

He's right though, you've got the baby blues for it. :)
And personally, I would pay money to see a stoned Superman.
Granted, it wouldn't have the epic grandeur that a lot of us are looking for. But wouldn't it be worth the ten bucks to see Superman completely toasted, struggling to get out of Clark Kent clothes without falling over and cracking up? :D

So Ryan McPartlin is the new love of many Supes fans today. A soap actor. Not that, that is a bad thing. He does have the physical stats. Hair color would need changing. I remain uncommitted.
Actually I will be so glad when they announce somebody. This is tiring. Justin you got any positive insites?
Oh hi everybody.

Frantik, my dear girl (How Noel Coward was that?)..
Anyone who ISN'T Tom Welling is greeted as the new messiah (He's not the Messiah.. He's a second rate soap star!) by most of the folks on these boards....
And whoops.. there goes another straw.. Shame on you boys.. Shame on you :D

Oh hi everybody.
I'm with you, Frantik. Once someone is announced, all of the casting threads will suddenly start to vanish.
That being said, I like McPartlin. Great look (the blond hair can easily be dyed), although his acting ability is a big question (unlike some people, I don't reject actors simply because they've been on a soap -- by that logic Christopher Reeve would have been ruled out in 1978). But I would definitely give the guy an audition/screen test.
Of course, if I were in control of such things ... ;) :D
