today in detroit a childrens daycare center was shot up. a 3 yr. old girl was shot in the head and killed. 2 women were shot and are in critical condition. one of the shot women was holding a 4 month old baby who was dropped and is in serious condition. 2 physically unharmed kids watched the whole thing...doctors say they have been seriously traumatized. the perpetrator got away.

See? This is why everything has to be locked up. It used to be you could walk into a school . . but you can't any more. And really, when you think about it, all those kids are unprotected. It's horrible, but I guess it's better to have them locked in and safe.

The thing is, immediate and swift retribution is needed in cases like this. Some of our country's early leaders advocated trying a person the day after they committed a crime, and if they were found guilty, punishing them a day or two later. That's it. Over and done with. Our legal system has become a mockery . . in great part due to greedy lawyers.

if it happens all the time...yes, thats a serious problem. if i'm out with a girl (*insert laughter here*) and everytime we step out she starts fawning over guys, thats demeaning and makes the guy feel inadequate...like we're not good enough for her, but apparently these guys she doesnt even know are. f**k that!

HOLY S**T!!!! where are my socks??? oh thats right...they just got ROCKED right off my feet!! what an amazing night!! so tonight, THE DIRTBOMBS (amazing detroit rock band) played an awesome show with the 5,6,7,8's (that asian chick rock band in kill bill vol. 1). but man, it was spectacular!!! and all the big detroit rock stars were there! jack and meg white of the white stripes, dan and tracee from Blanche, wendy from the Paybacks, Eddie from the Sights....absolutely crazy!

highlight #1:
so the 5,6,7,8's just finished up there awesome set and i go to take a piss. in the bathroom theres only two urinals and two stalls. i go in, and right behind me was jack white. we both grab a urinal (they're RIGHT next to each other). were the only ones in there and theres this awkward silence, because he knows that i know who he is...but we dont say anything. then we finish up and both grab a sink to wash our hands...still silent, nothings been said. then we each grab towels to dry our hands. and without even thinking i just subtly say to him "Dude...i just took a piss next to a rock star." he laughed and we walked out...it was magical.

highlight #2:
so the dirtbombs were headlining and they're doing their encore. ben blackwell (one of the bands 2 drummers...also jack whites cousin) gets up off his drum set, and mick collins (lead singer/guitar) takes over for him. ben grabs the mic. he wearing a shirt and tie. ben starts going on this cryptic rant about birth and death. he whips off his tie. then he breaks into some song about playing in the dirt. he screeching and howling like a mad man singing this song with passion. he slowly starts unbuttoning his dress shirt. he's dancing around all sensually singing this song...everyones laughing their ass off. he whips off his shirt, and while still singing, jumps into the crowd...he's crowd surfing, still howling...eventually he gets back to the stage and starts singing and dancing some more. then, i look over, and front stage center is jack white and he's holding out a jar of peanutbutter. ben makes his way over there, stil singing and dancing, grabs a big drop of PB and starts wiping it all over his bare chest. i'm dying laughing!!! he's stil dancing around singing wiping PB all over him...then he jumps into the crowd again, getting PB all over them. it was GREAT!!! f**king hilarious!!!!

So I saw Garden State today. Interesting movie. Different than what I was expecting . . even though I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Anyway, off beat and interesting. Definitely worth seeing.

P.S. Oddly enough, through the whole movie, I kept looking at Zach Braff and thinking he "somewhat" resembled Tom Welling!?! He does. It's like he's a slightly askew interpretation of TW. He's got the full lips, the somewhat big - ish jaw, the hair, the somewhat similar eyes. I even thought of JcDc and his whole TW's nostil's chatter. Funny. :)

very much agreed!!! american psycho was amazing!!! equlibrium was pretty good...but it wasnt quite fully developed. the story needed to be pushed a bit further.

I just thought of something else I need to say. ( :rolleyes: ) See? This is how it happens.

Okay, we get very few English movies here. In fact, it makes me wonder how many are even produced over there . . I think the last one I saw was "Love, Actually." Anyway, so we get this quirky British zombie romp known as "Shaun of the Dead," and none of you UKer's has apparently seen it? I say, 'apparently' because I have asked if anyone had seen it and since none of you replied (I know you wouldn't simply ignore my question - :) ) I have to assume you haven't seen it!!!! GO!!! It's fun. (and kind of grisly in parts) but it's definitely worth seeing.

The guy who plays Shaun is just . . . perfect . . in that role. He might even be a huge star in Britain, for all I know. There were so many things I liked about this movie, not the least of which is that it took place in England. :) (my 2nd favorite country in the world.) :D and so we got a little glimpse of how you guys live. It was just . . so good. There were so many scenes I could specify. One particularly memorable scene had to do with selecting old records and which had to be saved and which were 'usable' for that moment. Freaking hilarious.

Now, all of you go see it and report back to me . . okay? No arguments. Chop, chop. :)

Excuse me but I think I am to be congradulated for even reading and sitting thru American Psycho. Yes it may have been a better movie than Equilibrium but less palatable if you get my meaning. Expecially having read the book an being able to fill in the blanks of left out parts of scenes. Starbaby I thought you would have been proud of me. *sigh*
