Wrong forum but I thought you folks might like to see an image of the new Batman animated series toys with a look at the joker.

http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazines/toyfare/TF20040210-onsale.cfm

that link has a picture of the actual animation style.

Heres the toy pic

Perhaps if Doc Brown from Back to The Future and and Albert Einstein shared in some sort of ungodly union that concieved a child, I believe it would look something like that lameass hideous design of the Joker above.

The more I hear about this series, the less and less I like the idea of it. Rino Romano as Batman? Wrong. Kevin Michael Richardson as the Joker? Wrong. Tom Kenny as the Penguin? Well...maybe. I don't dig the Jeff Matsuda designs, and I can't see how good this show will be without the influence of the likes of Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, Alan Burnett, Curt Geda, etc.

To date, my favorite episode of TAS is the one with the kids telling the Tales of the Dark Knight, and they have the little DKR bit in there with a miller-esque interpretation of batman. I'd love to see Miller's style completely translated into animation

Yep. And this one looks like they really have the idea down. That one picture where Batman's cape litterally becomes part of the shadows on one of the buildings looks so damn cool. I can't wait for this show!

You say that like it's a bad thing. I think the whole Psycho Jester look really works. The guy does not look like the kind of person you would want to meet. He looks like he could rip your head off pretty easily and not hink anything of it. I personally LOVE this interperation of the Joker, ecspecailly considering that this is supposed to be Batman's early years before any of the characters relly become refined. They are supposed to be kind of raw in a sense and I think this look really works.

Oh yes I like the psycho look.I think some of Batmans villains need a more psycho look.Joker,Penguin and Riddler should in the new cartoon.

I think the best thing with this cartoon is not associate it to the original Batman: The Animated Series and any of its spin-offs. Sorta like the difference between Spider-Man Animated from 1995 and the MTV show. It will give you less a headache, especially if it will introduce Catwoman, already introduced in the original series in an origin episode.

The big difference is that the Spider-man animated series on FOX was good, and the MTV series was total crap.

This looks like it will basically be Batman's X-men Evolution. It's not really a bad thing, because Evolution though it started out bad, improved in seasons 2 and 3 when they had Curt Geda being a creative force behind the show. However it doesn't look like Geda is working on this show, and the voice actors seem really wrong for their parts. I'll remain cynical for now.

Ya, that's the worst looking Joker I've ever seen. I know they want younger and edgier or whatever, but that's just retarded. The could have made him newer and fresher without making him look like a jester. If that's what his hair looks like now, then I can only imagine what the look must have beeen before the chemicals. And what the hell is with all the yellow? If this crap is what Mr. Nolan has in mind as is this is all loosley based off his work, then we could have some problems. YOU BETTER PUT THE HOPE BACK IN YOUR WORK MR. NOLAN WITH SOME REAL PICTURES OF WHAT YOUR DOING!!!!!!!

Exactly. His face gives him an extremely wild and dangerous look.

But IMO, his hair looks silly and goofy. :( Just fix that and he'd be amazing...scary-looking almost.

It's not the actual Batmobile, it's the Bat-Wave version. They are making a line of toys that can pick up signals that they will broadcast during the show, thus the toys will be able to interact with the episode as you watch it. The Bat-Wave toys don't use the real colors so far as I have seen. I think some of the design to that car looks pretty good, it has the Muscle Car feel without being over the top.

I still think all these complaints about the Joker are pretty unfounded. Sure he doesn't look like the traditional version, but that doesn't mean he looks bad. I think the whole Jester look is fantastic, like I said before, Jester's have an ascociation with things Macabre in nature. Of all the clown images around, they're the first ones to usually be thought of as dark. Besides, this is supposed to be the first time any of these characters show up, they aren't supposed to be the refined versions of themselves that we know them as today. They are supposed to be rough and raw. I personally find this Joker reminiscent of Dave McKean's Joker who most people agree is one of if not the best version of the Joker.

http://www.grovel.org.uk/reviews/batman02/batman04.jpg Yeah, I bet our Joker we have in that pic is an untamed, wild, not evne slightly sane Joker. He's been in a mantal hospital since the accident, which would explain the long hair, more crazed than usual expression, blood sought eyes. The more and more I see tha pic the more I like it.

I'm not crazy about how the Joker looks, but like I said I'm going to bite my lip for know because his appearance is only one facet to him. I'm waiting to see how he's actually going to be portrayed in the series before I say anything. In animation a character is defined by how he moves, not by how he looks.

AxeFace

Agreed, its is just the toy, wait and see how the hair moves, etc.

But damn if he aint the scariest Joker ive seen out side the comics.

I'm sure if the Web had been as prevalent when Batman: TAS came out so many years ago, everyone would be complaining about the animation style and character design as deviating from the comic book. Yet the show has gained mythic status now, because of the brilliant storytelling.

I've never seen a bad DC cartoon come out yet (unlike the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the last season of X-men).

Get over yourself and give the new show a chance.

I would like to see Scarecrow show up...especially since it could tie in with the film. I would also LOVE to see Bane make an appearance, I doubt it'll happen since Bat's really didn't meet up with him until WAY later on, but it would still be cook to see.

I guess Clayface is pretty much confirmed as a villian ontop of Penguin and Joker. Hey maybe they could use this as a way to bring that Sin Szu character Jim Lee created into the animated world.

I also wanted to share a thought that I had recently about this new Joker. People have been saying that he looks like some kind of homeless hippie. I was thinking about that and I rembered thinking that the Joker reminded me of somone. Then I realized who it was, the striaght jacket, the hair, the somewhat psychadelic undertone that the costume has it was reminiscent of one really freaky man: Charles Manson. This new Joker really reminds me of Charlie, now that's scary!

It looks just like the TNAS is trying to use that shot from "Arkham" as a basis for his new look. I don't like all the yellow and his hair. He couldn't have looked like that in his early years no matter what artist designed that piece of crap and is trying to shove down my throat as OFFICIAL.
