The Length of Time Spent in College

I got this idea from that lottery thread. There have been at least 4 or 5 people I've met that told me to not rush college because the real world sucks or because the time spent in college is always taken for granted. Personally, I should have graduated around a year ago, but I changed my major and now I have exactly a year left. Yeah, there are times that I feel like I'm underachieving and bulls***tin' because I know people who have already graduated. It is slightly depressing...

However, aside from monetary issues (extra money for tuition and living expenses) I always tell myself that I am still young. I am barely in my 20s. I have made friends with people who are in their 30s on campus. One in particular is in his mid-30s and had the most interesting life story I've ever heard (was an athlete in college before having a kid, was a police officer for a few years, owned a gas station, sold it to fund college/medical school, and now wants to be an MD). Sometimes, I'm optimistic about where I am in life. Sometimes, I'm pessimistic. Sometimes, I'm at the point where I'm thinking "there's no point in b****ing about it because you can't change the past."

Is there anyone currently in college but graduated high school over 4 years ago? Anyone started college late? How super seniors are out there? Anyone wish they would have stayed in college longer?

As awesome as this sounds, especially for people who do freelance work, I can't see this NOT going wrong somehow. Spam emails that hack into accounts via Gmail which have to have all your bank account info.

Just seems like another way to lose money over the internet. Your thoughts?

Giving a deposition

So the company I work for is being sued. It is a retail store and someone fell on a skateboard two years ago on black friday and apparently is now suing the store. I work in the department where it happened and signed something stating that I walked the area about a half hour before the incident.

Now I have to give a depositon. Anyone ever have to be at a deposition for a lawsuit they weren't directly involved in? What should I expect besides being annoyed?

So, I know nothing of home school I think. I remember when I was really young my mom home schooled me. Basically it was her teaching me from books at home�but surely it must be more complicated nowadays? Or is that it? Is THAT home schooling? One parent has to stay home to be a teacher?

I am just wondering what home schooling is like nowadays. I don�t have any kids but might have one in the future and to be honest�the idea of them going to public school is unsettling to say the least. Especially with how aggressive and violent children are today.

Title says it all really. Just for the sake of controlling variables lets say the monster is Godzilla or Godzilla like (so not vampires, terminators etc).

I would choose London. You could hide out on the tube, get some good food, easily move around the city and there's a bit of a precedent of withstanding destruction of cities.

I was reading about the Turing test and the Chinese room (the latter can hurt your brain), and I was wondering, since, no doubt many users on here are science fiction fans, what they considered artificial intelligence to be.

Specifically, can machines (computers / robots) have sentience? Or in laymen's terms, can they have minds of their own?

Is there a distinction between simulating a mind and actually having a mind?
