I think a majority of people around here don't care for that too much because they themselves live with controlling mothers who wear ugly sweaters and don't get any chicks, so it's not realistic enough for them.

Really hated Norma this past episode, she acted really strange and quite CRAZY!

She can stay out all night sleeping with a "Psycho" who keeps women chained up but loses her **** when her 17 year old son goes out and gets some :D

Norman looks like the kind of guy who would shoot the school up.

Girls flocking to him is just bizarre. I can only imagine that's intentional. Shows us how strange the town is.

Anyone else expecting an episode down the line with Norman and Emma interacting just to find out later she's been dead for awhile?

I really don't see the problem with girls being attracted to or interested in Norman. At this point, he is pretty normal.

If you think she's crazy in this one, the next episode looks like it'll take the cake.

That would be creepy as hell and a great twist.

I don't see the problem with girls digging Norman I mean look at the girls. One is just starting to recover from a parent dying similar to Norman which explains the bond they've made and the other is sick. He's no cassanova just a mumbling stumbling teenager with some real mental issues.

Really liking this so far.

Once I get passed Norman Bates growing up in modern times, the characters and storylines are quite involving.

Probably that he killed the guy that Norma killed and that they discovered his prostitution ring and came to silence them.

Damn, tonight's episode was goooood. I don't know how, but I really didn't see the revelation about Norman's father coming. I had just assumed it was Norma.

great episode last night with an unexpected reveal about the circumstances of Sam Bates' death...

and Norma really irritated the **** out of me last night with her behavior... I really felt a rush of satisfaction when Deputy Zack b**chslapped her twice over... that really felt good... she needed it and so did I in seeing that...

You are not the only one who didn't see that coming I assumed she did it and most people I know assumed too. She's so bat sh?t crazy it's hard not to believe, I still have some concerns that she is manipulating her son with that story.

While she was sitting in the car waiting for the gun fire to stop I thought to myself who would she rather see live. The man she been banging who is into sex slavery or the least favorite son who was gonna take her baby away.

Same. I was almost a little taken aback about how genuinely relieved she looked when she hugged Dylan.

Re: Psycho prequel series "Bates Motel"

I feel bad for anyone who doesn't watch this show. It's amazing.

Anyone who's a massive 'Psycho' buff like I am can really enjoy watching all of this unfold. When Norman first imagined his mother telling him to go get the belt, I couldn't help but smile. It's so cool thinking about this all ends up for him, taking on the persona of his mother and communicating with her when she's long dead. They're doing a great job of building all of this up.

In terms of Norma getting all pissed about Norman getting laid, you've gotta realize she's a controlling, manipulating *****. She knows what that means for her and Norman's relationship. Sex/love for Norman means that he will grow out of his mother and move on, something that she doesn't like one bit. And if you go back to 'Psycho', you can understand Norman's 'condition' a little better now. After Marion arrives at the motel, Norman argues with his 'mother' as she scolds him for having a sexual interest in Marion. Those conversations he has with his schizophrenic self are based on similar scenarios that he previously experienced with his mother...things we're now seeing on Bates Motel. I'm loving every second of it.

Things we have to look forward to in this season and future seasons:

- Dylan's obviously going to bite the dust. He needs to be removed from the situation eventually. It's going to be interesting to see whether it's Norma or Norman who takes care of it. My money's on things getting very bad between all of them, and Norma will convince Norman that he has to do it to protect them (much like Norman murdering Arbagast in 'Psycho').

- Norman's first solo kill (at this point in his life, at the motel). We all know it's coming. Gonna be cool to see how it goes down.

- Norma's death. In 'Psycho', we learn that Norman's mother found a lover, and eventually Norman killed them both in a jealous rage. Wracked with guilt, he tried to erase the crime by bringing his mother 'back to life' in his mind. I really hope Bates Motel sticks to this scenario for the most part.

I agree this is becoming a "can't miss" show. Last night's episode was fantastic. Beyond the great reveal about Norman's father, I loved that the conflict with the handsome deranged cop was resolved quickly. I hate when shows drag things out. Things seem to move pretty quickly on this show.

More!!!

Wow, nobody saw the revelation about Norman's father's death coming?

Thought it was pretty obvious, didnt even think they were trying to keep it a secret
