He owned the role and everytime he was on screen, I just thought "that's Superman." He is just a different Superman. One who is more conflicted and self-aware of his inner turmoil. A modern take that worked wonderfully, even if the third act of the movie has massive problems.

I couldn't agree more. I called it a couple of years ago when they announced Henry for this role: I thought it was an inspired casting choice then and even more so now. :up:

He's probably the first actor to actually look like superman while not having to channel Reeve.

I mean for so long the image of superman and Reeve were 1:1 but you look at henry and you go damn that is superman.
