My favorite Justice League animated movie
The traps they took from Batman's computer and the way they were used -especially the one with Flash- made the thought Jigsaw (Saw films) is the Batman of horror films

Skyfall

A really solid James Bond film, It's not quite Casino Royale but there's a lot to like in this. Craig did a great job but the show stealer goes to Javier Bardem, he was hitting the same notes as Heath's Joker in terms of villainy and I noticed there was a few similarities from TDK. The film does slow down near the middle which I didn't like but it was quickly over once Bardem shows up in London. Also even though I'm not a huge Bond fan I did notice some call backs to the older films, which was cool.

Here Comes the Boom

This just comes off as the extremely generic teacher that saves the school type movie. It's got the MMA angle which I liked up to a point but much of the comedy didn't work for me. Bas Rutten was surprisingly good with what he had to do and Salma Hayek was good...well...for eye candy I guess.

End of Watch.

Taut and surprisingly very funny. I'm not big on found footage at all, but this is by far the best use of the genre. If you're on board with David Ayer, you should know what to expect.

V For Vendetta

Saw this last Monday. This movie is deeply appealing to me as an apolitical person. Gets me every time.

Maximum Conviction

The best DTV movie both Steven Seagal and Steve Austin have made. Also I'm glad to see Seagal caring again, no matter what a joke he's become, I can't help but want him to succeed. When I heard that Seagal improvised the best action beat and one liner of the film, I smiled. Austin should keep playing funny characters too, I loved his one liners.

Smart, witty, cheeky satire. Aaron is really good in this, adding lots of charisma to what should be a very unlikable character. He's like a modern day Don Draper, in a way. Rob Lowe's scenes were the highlight though.

"Cigarettes in space? Wouldn't they blow up in an all-Oxygen environment?"
"Probably. But it's an easy fix...one line of dialogue. Thank God we invented the, yknow, whatever device"

If anyone hates me mentioning the year of this one, anyone ever saw the old Ghost Rider movie from the 30s?I heard of it, never saw it or read a description of what it's about

8.5 or 9 out of 10.

It's the first blockbuster of the year that's actually good. Refreshing after a summer full of disappointment. And feels like the true follow up to CS. I'll write a longer review soon.

Skyfall - 9/10

I can't decide if this was better than Casino Royale but if not, it's still in my top five favorite Bond films. As much as I loved seeing Casino Royale taking a break from some of the traditional Bond elements, despite them returning to them, it still felt refreshing and welcoming. Craig is at the top of his game as Bond. What I loved about this movie is that it's more than a man on a mission Bond film. This becomes a personal character drama that digs into Bond's psyche. The title even pertains to Bond, which hasn't been done before. It's just about going back to the beginning of things. And we saw Bond shot, bleed and die to get there to overcome. He had an arc. Something we rarely see in Bond films.

Bardem's Silva is a great villain to combat Bond. Theatrical, humorous, yet still threatening and creepy to be a threat. I just wish there was more of him. All of his scenes are gold. Especially his introduction which has to be the greatest Bond villain introduction ever.

If Casino Royale was Bond reborn, this set Bond back on the track to classic Bond. I felt the Connery and even the Moore influences. Great locations, a theatrical villain, Q, M, and Moneypenny. By the end of this movie I had a huge stupid smile on my face. Just because I knew Bond was back. The Bond I love the most. This film becomes the combination of familiarity and unfamiliarity that makes it still seem so new and interesting, while still reminding us why we love this franchise.

I agree! I wonder how many takes it took for him to tell that story as he's slowly walking towards Bond.

It's because of all these reasons I can't wait to see where they take the next film. :yay:

Dat monologue. Dat framing. That was my favorite part of the entire film.

John Carter

Incredibly boring movie. Sci-fi matinee without any charm or character. The combination of stiff acting and flat dialogue makes the film's characters completely unable to engage or touch. Visually it does not work either, where no images leaves a major impact and where the effects are mediocre and design choices feel uninspired. The story itself feels like it could have needed more depth and less padding. It might have been easier to forgive if the padding itself had entertainment value - but the storytelling lacks joy and even a bit of humor is hard to find. The action scenes are so generic it makes the pulse slow down rather than raise it.

3/10 or 1/5

Framing like that can be very easy or very difficult. It's all about timing with that shot. The length of the monologue, the pace of him walking, the slight pushing in on the camera. Though Deakins and Bardem are pros so I wouldn't expect many takes anyway. I'd say three at the most.

There's a bit too much frat boy humour for my tastes but some of the subtler gags are great and Tatum is surprisingly good, 6/10

The Tall Man

Though I only watched half of it and bits and pieces of it towards the end... even though it had Jessica Biel in it, the story wasn't...really pleasant. I thought I was watching a horror movie, even though it supposed to be one but it turned out it really wasn't much of a horror movie. It made Jessica biel seem like a bad guy. I guess I was expecting more when I read the synopsis of it on wikipedia and so I spoiled myself. :p
