What I'd like to see in a Wonder Woman sequel is Wonder Woman in all her lasso-spinning, bullet-deflecting, ass-kicking glory

Me too but it doesn't look like that's what they've got in store for us, they're serving up watered down red wine and calling it rosé

I love the trailer. It's the DCEU movie I'm looking forward to the most - and I say that as a decades-long Batman fan. Oh well, we'll see soon enough...

Seeing Steve Trevor, Hippolyta, Dr.Poison and Etta Candy come to life was nothing short of incredible but I'd be lying if I said I don't dislike a lot of the creative decisions they made regarding Wonder Woman herself so for me the trailers leave a bittersweet taste tbh. I'd love to be proven wrong though

What I'd like to see is Patty Jenkins return to the director's chair.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

Patty Jenkins as director and Cheetah as a villain.

I wouldn't mind if WW got some kind of silver studs on her skirt that could resemble the classic stars.

Cheetah.

I don't care what else we get, as long as she's in it and everything is awesome.

Yeah, I think this above all else. She and Gal seem to really understand the character so I think that between them whatever they deliver will be worth the wait - however long.

Bring on Cheetah and Veronica Cale.

Etta Candy's granddaughter as her friend. Just building up her supporting cast in general.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

I want:

1. Return of the gods.

2. Villains that include either Circe, Cheetah, Dr. Psycho, Giganta or Silver Swan.

3. A return to Paradise Isle that includes a better look at the Amazon's culture and philosophy as well as the more fantastical elements that could be there like mythical creatures and Doom's Doorway.

4. Supporting characters like Julia Kapatelis and her daughter Vanessa and Det. Ed Indelicato, maybe even Mindy Meyer.

5. Wonder Woman having standing as a known public figure with Diana navigating the world of politics and celebrity.

6. I don't care what anyone else thinks, but I want the Invisible Jet, and I want it to essentially be her mobile base of operations capable of traveling through the air, under water and even out into space.

7. More of the inventive ways she used the lasso as she did in the first film but even more spectacular.

8. Go meta and show how important Wonder Woman is to both younger and older women in the DCEU's world.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

-Set in modern day (but with flashbacks to relevant eras post-WWI as needed).

-Cheetah as the main villain (Barbara Minerva as a friend turned antagonist for Diana).

-Perhaps Veronica Cale as a secondary villain (for now anyway).

-Diana in the US dealing with modern-day issues/problems.

-Supporting characters, such as Julia Kapatelis, Vanessa and Ed Indelicato.

-Diana having some kind of contact with law enforcement.

-Diana interacting with/inspiring the public more. There was some of that in the first film, which was good. But more of it here. Also at least one scene of Diana interacting with children.

-Diana with a female LI.

-Perhaps hints at Donna Troy and/or Cassie Sandsmark (and Circe as well).

I am sure that the next film will have a much bigger budget. I know it's de rigueur to complain about spectacle but I hope that the scope for the next film is expanded. I hope things like the gods or Circe can be done in a way that's epic. Which is why I vote to have most or all of the sequel to take place modern day, though perhaps within the "realm" of the gods and magic.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

I think Barbara Minerva should be introduced in the sequel but not become Cheetah until the third act of the WW trilogy to build the drama and tragedy of her and Diana's relationship.

I would like to see Silver Swan (Helen Alexandros) and Dr.Psycho as villains in the next WW movie. Ares still alive is out to discredit and humiliate Diana proving his points on humanity. So he empowers a desperate woman with strength, beauty and powers and if she kills her, she keeps it all. Dr. Psycho is a metahuman telepath with an obsession with WW who has worked his way into her life (posing with his powers) as handsome and distinguished antique dealer.

Ultimately Diana will have to contend with both of them.

As I stated in another thread, Silver Swan would be the embodiment of everything Diana isn't: vain, prideful and selfish. Dr. Psycho represents when admiration crosses the line and becomes obsession and where that rode can lead...

I definitely think the WW movies should continue to play with human themes and morals in the underlying tone of the films.

Would love Cheetah to be the next villain. And Etta was as sweet as Candy so do bring her back some way.

I have the feeling that the budget was so low for Wonder Woman was because Patty Jenkins is a more efficient film maker. She said there will be not directors cut because nothing was cut from the movie. So no wasted scenes filmed that had to be discarded. That saves money right there. And no extensive reshoots. That also saves a lot of money. I feel a good chunk of the budget for Superman v Batman ended up on the cutting room floor. Look at how much more film there was in the Blu-Ray Ultimate Cut.

Wonder Woman had plenty of spectacle and a cast of thousands. It seemed there were a lot more people in the background than in previous DCEU movies and plenty of explosions and CGI. I don't think Patty should spend a lot to bloat the next movie with a lot of CGI because that isn't really what a Wonder Woman movie should be all about.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

The only notable change I'd recommend would be "Setting the big climactic battle in daytime". That would be a change that would cost money, but for good effect.

Re: Possible Wonder Woman sequel?

On opposite end, things they need to avoid doing to the character and her world.

Do not follow the comic's constant attempts at some version of Amazon's Attack. The Amazons aren't bloodthirsty warriors looking for battle at any perceived aggression or disrespect like Klingons.
