Are people gonna moan about every little piece of news that gets released?

So, the title will probably be Batman vs Superman... And some fanboys still say it will be a MOS sequel? LOL!

It's a sequel in the sense Avengers was a "sequel" to 4 other movies yes?

Again where is this being reported?

Yeah, this still hasnt been labelled a MOS-sequel officially, so chill.

And I still dont believe that VS-title will end up official as well.

Re: All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 2

I don't need the title to tell me this isn't a sequel to MOS. It's Superman/Batman. No matter what they call it.

For all we know, this could still be the working title.

Re: All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 2

Hope its not sure it's simple but it is WAY better then some of the other titles I saw.

Re: All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 2

The thing is though that every news site keeps referring it as a MOS sequel whenever there's news coverage on it. It's not like it's being defined as a spin-off and there are no other DC films other than MOS for this to film to be labeled as anything else other than a MOS sequel, which wasn't the case with "The Avengers" since they had 5 films before it.

Okay but we know the studio, the screenwriter, the director, the cast, the news surrounding the production and filming, a loose understanding of the general story, and also a feature film that was released just this past summer by the same creative team in question... so you can't just blame someone for not being a blind optimist. They've taken the information they've been given, they've observed it, they've weighed it out, and they feel the ingredients may not be there for a good movie. It's perfectly understandable.

Hey what's your favorite meal? Well I'll tell you what... I'll ask my six year old niece to cook it for you. Remember, don't jump to conclusions because you haven't tasted it yet.

Actually, we have NO IDEA of the general story because there is NO story yet, besides there being a confrontation between Superman and Batman at some point, that's it. Did the previous film feature Lex, or Batman, etc, no. Will this movie feature Zod and a giant terraforming device, no. So, MOS is largely irrelevant since this will be a very different animal.

It has the same screenwriter and the same director and will by and large be some sort of continuation of the story told in the first film. Superman, Batman, difference of ideologies, difference of opinion, climactic showdown, etc.

TDK didn't require you to watch BB so I imagine they're gonna try and do the same this time around as well. I'm sure MOS is gonna act as some type of "loose" backstory but the fact remains there are still plenty of us that hated it... and it's perfectly fair for us to mold our expectations on the strength of it.

"From the writer and director of that movie you really didn't like... comes another movie... from that same writer and director of that first movie you really didn't like."

I doubt that's the final title. I wouldn't worry about it.

I hope SVB serves as a creative reboot of sorts to this burgeoning DCCU, and tries to move away from the Nolan style, and more toward Zack's sensibilities and what made Watchmen look fantastic. Hopefully with Fong back on board we'll be getting there.

Personally I am hopping to see Affleck's style in the solo Batman films.

I support this decision :)

I do also hope that they're able to flesh out Metropolis to a great deal of extent in this film. So far, we really didn't get much of a feel for what Metropolis is like; it has no unique life unto itself at the moment. We have no idea on what the crime rate is like over there, what its people are like, let alone their thoughts on Superman and him patrolling their city more than anywhere else in the world at the moment. Metropolis at the moment is like any other city based on how MOS had portrayed it.

Re: All Things Superman and Batman: An Open Discussion - Part 2

Yeah, for all know, Batman vs. Superman might be the film's working title for now. That would make sense, although the domain names registered as batmanvsuperman(movie).com, the fact that sure we referred to it as such because there wasn't a title but now that this guy who is one of the heads of WB makes me think that, while maybe not, Batman vs. Superman just might be the title. But why, even when Synder has said that he was consider World's Finest or even Public Enemies? Well, they've called this a follow up to MOS, even on news reports, but I haven't heard sequel anywhere except for us. Perhaps this isn't a true sequel, otherwise it would feature Superman by himself. Perhaps it is a Superman-Batman film, that will be followed by Justice League, before we'll go back to solo Superman films.

Kinda like Thor and Captain America, where we got their first films, then Avengers, followed by their sequels. If that's the case, then I can live with that, just as long as we'll get those solo films.

But like everyone else: regardless of the obvious points to the title, an official statement will make all the difference.
