Joker face paint?

My friend and I are planning on at least painting our faces and doing our hair green when we go to see TDK on opening night.

Does anyone know what kind of face paint would be best to use, and wear to pick it up since it's not halloween time?

Any place that sells theatre supplies. And so I dont sound like broken record do not, I repeat DO NOT, buy the simple make-up kits that cost like 4 dollars and have the little plastic trays. This make-up is of inferior quality, it smears, it runs, it blends, does all kinds of things. I know the Jokers make-up is supposed to be in bad condition but that stuff would look terrible for even a "Joker-ized" face if anything touched your face.

I'm using snazaroo make up at the moment, its not too bad and seems to stay on pretty well and gives the right amount of blend. I know NotSoSerious has a good method you should ask him, pictures of him say it all, he looks awesome.

Simply buy yourself a packet of standard face paint crayons, warm them up with either your hand or by putting them next to something hot, then simply tear a chunk from the crayon and rub it onto your face.

You may need to apply several layers pending on how intense you want the white to be.

I read somewhere that elmers glue works pretty well for the cut smile... anyone else know a good way to do it...?

I'm not sure I would want that on my face. Even after shaving I can imagine the agony that would inflict upon a post-pubescent male's face. I use rigid collodion, which, while still painful peels off in one piece at least so its quick. Glue would be horrible.

I use Mehron Clown White for my white, Ben Nye for the other colors, and generic black cream for the eyes.

Is that a girl?

Re: Joker face paint?

No, that's me. Haha, nice going trying to insult me in a roundabout way...

Oh, so you're a dick?

Re: Joker face paint?

Of course not. Im just asking if thats a girl or not. No big deal.

Veneficus 07-12-2008 04:51 PM

Re: Joker face paint?

No, its me. And no, I am not a girl. You're also the only person who has ever though that.

Oh, sorry. You just look young i guess. Its probably just the oversized gloves.

Veneficus 07-12-2008 04:58 PM

Re: Joker face paint?

Probably, sorry, didn't mean to go off like that. Its just annoying when you work so hard on something and then are seemingly insulted about the way it looks. I hate the gloves, I'm looking for new ones.

The Party City by me usually compacts their Halloween section after Halloween but still keeps the stuff out for sale just in case someone needs a costume or something for a party or whathaveyou.

Im not recommending this at all, but for last day of school, i painted peoples faces like the joker using the make up on the plastic tray things and it turned out absolutely awsome. again , i dont reccomend this but that doesnt mean they are all cheap and not good.

Re: Joker face paint?

it depends on the level of quality you want...
don't use greasepaint, don't use cosmetic makeup because it might stay on your skin.
i use mehron and cinema secrets.

elmer's glue will come off easily if you use a sponge of water.
or, if you like a little pain, just yank it off. go for it. i've done it, and it's no big deal.
unless you don't like a little ouchies...

That is awesome. That even might be more creepier than heath's.

Re: Joker face paint?

I used grease for my first attempt. It looked great, but I agree that it seems to smudge and blend too easy. I am really worried about that happening during the big night. I have some Mehron paint as well... but when I first tried that it seemed way too transparent? Maybe I'll try again if you say it stays on better.

That is what you're saying, right?
