yeah.....but the thing with Superman is..........all you really need is the S symbol.......

he's instantly recognizable!

I get what you're saying and agree, as I'm sure most would, but if you were the creative in charge of the marketing for MOS, I would have one word for you: Lazy.

This is no time for any stage of the film, marketing included, to rest on laurels. The marketing of this film has to convey to the audience from stage 1 that this is not just another superhero movie, not just another Superman movie. The posters should be the kind that instantly grab your attention at the movie theatre, that make you look twice and leave you a little surprised but even more excited, like, "Wow, I didn't expect that!"

I know.

and I wasn't suggesting they just show the S symbol. just that, technically, they could. and people would instantly recognize that.

with that being said, I do agree with you that the 1st official poster needs to be bold and attention catching. it needs to have an "edge" to it ( without being dark ) to show that this is a much more badass Superman.......

it should evoke power and strength.......

Dude, do see what it says under Superman... THE MAN OF STEEL.. This isn't Superman Returns. We dont need to see Trunks on him, get over it! Besides Everyone I've shown that isnt a comic reader loves the new suit and 90 percent of readers love it too!

yes we do need to see trunks on him because it's incomplete with the trunks missing...
and speaking of which, he doesn't have to get over anything. if he wants the trunks, he wants the trunks, and you're certainly not the boss of him liking what he wants to like.

As believable as this looks, I've gotten so used to seeing Cavill's costume without it..that it now feels almost weird to see it on him.haha

I am over it, mostly. I was just curious about how the suit would look with trunks. Also, "This isn't Superman Returns"? What is that comment supposed to mean exactly?

Still think it looks more complete with trunks. I'm actually still trying to get used to the new look even though I like it. We need more GOOD pictures of it!

Heh, looking at those pictures above; the MOS suit with the trunks doesn't work for me. I guess they came up with something (then again they did before, but it wasn't used til now) without those trunks that works. I also think that we're in that age now where trunkless Superman is the norm.

As someone said, I've gotten so use to seeing Henry in costume trunkless, it's a bit weird seeing them on him.
