Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
It's odd that the Sixers seem to have the Celtics' number as much as they do.
I at very least expected the game to be close like the Knicks game. |
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Ray was out and Pietrus was held to limited time. We are inconsistent on offense without those injuries.
|
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Omg. Why does everyone have to use injures as an excuse to lose?
Even without Ray, you have at least three all stars on that team. You should still be able to win. |
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Ehhh, I think a key injury does affect the game. For instance, there's a damn good chance Minnesota woulda beat OKC the other day had Rubio not torn his ACL. That s**t is important. Of course sometimes that s**t don't matter, like when the Bulls beat the s**t outta the Magic without D-Rose......not that that has anything to do with this convo. :o

As you brought, your Bulls are a good team and were able to excell despite Rose being out. The Celtics should be a similar type of team; they're not as good as the Bulls, obviously, and are quite old, but they should still be able to play competitively when they have two future HOFers and Rondo to boot on their active roster. |
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
The greatest 3 point shooter ever and our 6th man were out and you say we should be able to beat the deepest team in the league on the road?
|
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
The deepest team would either be the Bulls or the Pacers.....the Sixers are up there though.
|
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Ima sixers fan but I lol at them being a deep team. We far from being a deep team, I mean would you say a 27-21 squad is a deep team?
|
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
The Sixers are kinda deep.
I mean, they really have 7 starters counting Williams and Young. They're not particularly deep with bigs, though. And their other main problem is all 5 of those starting guards/forwards they have are all around the same skill level. |
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Their record doesn't indicate how deep they go.
I was wrong saying they were the deepest but they do get a lot of production off the pine. I would say the Spurs are up there as well. |

4th Overtime in Atlanta. This game is intense

Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Im sick and tired of every time the Heat are losing, whoever's calling the game blames it on them "not being into it." Like it's impossible for them to lose if they're "serious."
No, they're into this game tonight, they're just getting handled right now, that's all. And knowing the Thunder's style of play, they might let the Heat back into it anyway. |
Re: 2011/2012 NBA Thread : A Season Reborn - Part 2
Agreed Doc! I honestly think the Heat are(dare I say it)overrated. I honestly think OKC or the Bulls are better teams than them, have better records and definetly better coaches but yet you only hear about how great the Heat are. It makes it hard to watch the Heat play but seeing them lose to OKC was a great sight for sore eyes.

One of the worst outings defensively from the Lakers all season. Not to mention Mike Brown, I hope he has some sort of explanation for that stunt he pulled, especially considering how much restraint Kobe showed all night, both offensively & with the lackluster D on display.

I read this morning that the last time the Hawks played a 4 overtime game, was February 1982...five months before the world knew my name.
Long time. |

I know these guys have been blowing people out all year but I can see the Bulls, Magic, and possibly even the Knicks beating them in the playoffs. It seems like if anyone can challenge James on both ends of the floor, he tends to disappear. |

As for being overrated? Maybe. They've lost some head scratchers but ultimately, I think they can be a lot better. On paper, they're the best team in the league. They should beat everyone. They have some glaring weaknesses but I still think they have enough TALENT to win it all. It's whether they have enough drive and determination to do the work necessary, on both ends of the floor to get it done. |
