But I'm serious I've watched Avatar ever since the first episode and watched the first episode the first time it was aired and have been a true fan since. This finale was by far one of the best, top 5, if not the best of any Avatar episode.

I'm ready to discuss this thing with everyone. Enjoy the show!

seeing Aang and all the past Avatars was awesome. I would have been so pissed if they ended without restoring her bending. The Avatar State was everything I hoped for. I wanted to see it when she fought Amon but it was better the way they did it.

It was fun and nostalgic to see General Iroh in action. Wish we could have seen more of Bumi but that's what next season is for I suppose.

It's a pretty dark episode.

Three presumed dead... two by Suicide/Murder. Tarrlok went out on his own terms. I personally think the Lieutenant survived as he has fallen/slammed into things farther/harder.

Still don't understand why Tarlock killed himself, and Amon seemed to know this was going to happen and seemed to want it too.

Nah, you said it was "THE" best. I have an hour thirty to go. This better be Puppetmaster good. :oldrazz:

But honestly, I don't know if Korra has the characters yet to live up to the best TLA had to offer. I like them all, but they aren't Aang, Toph, Katara, or Sokka yet.

Yes, it was great. I have a question though...I wonder why some Avatars are seen as older and some younger, for instance Aang and Kiyoshi are shown as younger, but died of old age? It's probably just creative license and how the creators want to show a variety among avatars rather than them being mostly old. As I doubt many were killed young or in their prime. Or perhaps the ages of the avatars are represented for when they did something symbolic in flash backs i.e. when we see Kiyoshi for the first time and when Korra see's Aang in her dreams. Thoughts?

So is Bumi indeed a non-bender? Did they say this in the show exactly, cause I don't remember such or has this been confirmed by creators?

I will say that General Iroh was a lot younger and acted as such than I bought he would be portrayed. That being said although I like Dante Basco and his voice acting I thought the young voice did not fit with the character and his role. I'm sure Dante could have used his natural voice which is slightly deeper and audiences still would have been able to tell it was him.

Idk, he just came off younger than Mako IMO...I wanted to see him be and act a bit older, nothing big. However, I was getting anxious to see him fire-fly like Azula and Ozai. I was thinking, they better make him be able to fly with all these flying plains around lol or Im going to be p*ssed lol.

That's what I don't get though, cause IMO the lieutenant is dead, but with all that blood bending you would think that Amon could have just killed them then and there by breaking their necks or backs. Right? Also, man was he a powerful bender, I loved how he was in the water like a shark. He still should have had Korra once she started air bending, but I know, it's her show lol.

I don't think Amon knew it was coming, but was remembering the good ol' days and was at bliss. Just my opinion though. Didn't see that coming, but 1. I didn't think Tarrlok would go with him 2. when he did I thought hmmm...a taste of season 2. But quickly thought Tarlock was a product of events and felt sad for him. Also, thought his reconciliation (asking for forgiveness/apology) rectified his past behavior.

Okay fine. Yes it is the BEST lol. I agree with your second paragraph. But after you see this episode, it will change your opinion about other episodes not necessarily the characters.

LOL, sorry. Told people to stay away don't feel the urge to read please. No the whole show was epic, both parts, both episodes...Trust me you will not be waiting for the last 30mins.

  • I love how nonchalantly Aang showed up, making Korra think it was Tenzin.
  • The moment when Korra reached her Avatar State was fantastic. I could practically feel the power surging through her veins. Great moment, very epic and genuine.
  • Something I didn't like was how Hiroshi would have killed Asami. I would have rather he just attempted to beat her down, just enough to take her out of the suit, as he tried to talk her into joining him. It didn't bring the season finale down for me at all though, since it was small.
  • Speaking of Asami, I wonder what she's going to do when she finds out about Korra and Mako.
  • I really want to see more of Bumi, he's one of the reasons I'm excited for season 2. Can it really get any better than that finale? I can't wait to find out.
  • Blood Bending sure has come a long way since that witch(forgot her name) used it against the first Team Avatar. It seems like less of a bending thing and more of a telekinetic thing now.
  • Sad about what happened to Amon(Noatok?) and Tarrlok. I don't think Noatok saw it coming, the tear was from him remembering the good days with his brother and looking onto the future and a new life. That was a dark moment to show on a kid's show, but that's why I thought it was strong. This show isn't afraid to go dark if it services the story.

All in all, great episode! Definitely one of the best season finales I've ever seen.

Well, that was suprisingly dark. Good ending though. Does anybody else kind of wish that this had been the series finale? Don't get me wrong I am looking forward to season 2, but everything was wrapped up so perfectly and Amon is gonna be hard to top

Agreed. His story really made you feel sorry for him. Actually, now that I think of it his story was really Katarra's story or how her life could have been if not for Team Avatar. Let me explain. Tarrlock experienced family tragedies and because of it became bad. His older brother leaving left him alone and without guidance. Katarra however, had Sokka there after her mother was killed and father later left. She learned blood bending but because of her friends she realized how wrong it was. Also, Katarra had the chance to take her revenge on the fire nation commander that killed her mother, but didn't. Just goes to show how people's lives can turn out given certain circumstances.

water bending/benders were the bad guys. Just proves that any bending or bender can be a villain a powerful villain at that. The whole first series TLA showed fire bending mostly in a negative light and that it was the most destructive out of all the styles. However, with water from Tarlok and Amon we see how it too can be used for evil. Dude was one serious water/ blood bender...so good that it as his brother noted was psychic and did not need to use much effort nor the moon. Strong family of benders indeed.

Yes, I don't even see how they can top that. They will definitely have to go spirit world now. Question...Having seen Amon and even Tarrloks bending strength do you think they could have beaten Phoenix King Ozai or how about Iroh?

Being the strongest firebender means very little when you can't move. So yeah I would imagine they could beat Ozai or Iroh.

Absolute favorite thing is the ending. When someone with airbender robes walked into the frame I wouldn't make sense to be Tenzin based on what he just said. That only left one possibility so when it panned up to Aang, it was too awesome along with everything that had followed.

In regards to Asami, I'm so glad they made her stick to her beliefs and not change just because of some guy. Like her immensely more now. Its pretty clear she's accepted she and Mako are over, without it even spoken.

Great thing is that I have no idea what the next season is going to be about. Makes it exciting and frustrating at the same time. Thought it would've been about something spiritual with Korra regaining her bending but thats not gonna happen.

On a random note you can see where the restraints of a kids show comes into play, Amon would've snapped his Lieutenant's neck but instead he had to throw him to the side.

Yes, but I imagine that bloodbending has its disadvantage from far away attacks. I still think the fight would be epic. I mean Korra was able to blow Amon back & have him flee and it was her first time airbending. Could be considered a plot whole by some, as Amon could've/should've defeated them both.

Also, I like to think that Aang & the avatars denied Korra's airbending as they were able to see how things could unfold. Thoughts?
