HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

None of the Bruce/Batty scenes got to me, but I'll be 100% honest... When they revealed that the kid in the pit was Talia and she was lovingly fixing Bane's breather with the care of a mother, I began crying.

When she said "Goodbye, my beloved friend" (or something to that effect) and the tears came from Bane's eyes, I just totally LOST IT. I cried like a cheerleader who didn't make first string.

Nolan really got me (that bastard! lol) with Bane's story, when they showed Bane save Talia and say "good luck" to her just before he was bum-rushed I wept and wept. I continued to cry tears of joy as I watched the man himself Ras Al Ghul handle his business by slaughtering those bastards.

It was a beautiful, loving moment between the two of them and my only regret is that they would've waited a minute or two from that point to little miss one liner on her bat pod shooting him across the room. It really took me out of that beautiful moment.

Even if I wasn't the kind of person who rooted for the bad guy, that scene of Talia and Bane would still have probably had me in tears. What a beautifully crafted loving moment in the script.

So how bout you guys? Any moments start the waterworks for you?

This poll is multiple choice, and having only seen the movie once my apologies if I missed a particular scene. If I did just select "Other" and explain in your reply.

Also, my apologies, I posted this poll again because I left out 2 really good tearjerker moments. Sorry for the inconvenience, mods.

Re: HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

In all honesty, I wanted to feel more emotion... but I didn't. Who knows, it may affect me with repeat viewings. That's what it took for TDK to sink in with me. The first time I watched TDK... I just thought it was a really good movie. After about the 3rd or 4th time watching it many months later... it hit me. The ending hit me like a ton of bricks and I realized the sacrifice that Batman/Wayne was making and the nobility was enough to break me down. I wanted a chance to be like that. To do something truly unselfish for the greater good of society. There was no personal reward for him with the only other person (other than Alfred and Fox) knowing being Gordon.

Who knows, with repeat viewings and enough time for the entire very well told story to sink in... it might hit me and in all honesty, I hope it does.

You didn't cry when Talia said goodbye to Bane and he was crying?

There were a few parts that had me emotionally engulfed....but I felt bad for Bane when Batman first knocked part of his mask off. He looked so helpless.

As Bane would say, "Of course!"

I teared up at many moments. Watching Bane beat the hell out of Batman was utterly heartbreaking. Bruce's climb out of the prison was majestic and overpowering. The third act of the movie had so many powerful moments.

The tears started flowing when Bruce said to Gordon, "Being a hero can be doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat on a boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended." Then when Gordon remembered and said, "Bruce Wayne?" Unbelievable.

As if I weren't emotional enough after the bomb, Alfred had to rip my heart out. :(

Didn't vote in the poll because none of the options really apply to me. There was a lot of emotional scenes but I never cried... nothing to do with me being a tough guy, I just wasn't struck by anything during the initial viewing enough to shed any tears. It's funny because kind of processing some things back later did make me feel kind of teary-eyed.

The same. In the theater, I was more awe struck by the endings of TDK and TDKR. But watching the DVD, Batfan tears came running every time.

I almost cried when Alfred was crying at Bruce's grave. It was so close.

This and when you see the shot of Batman's face as he's taking the bomb over the water before it explodes. I was just like "Holy ****, this is actually happening... they've killed Batman."

I won't lie, I bawled when they revealed Thomas & Martha's graves.

Honestly, the film didn't have a lot of breathing room to get teary eyed. I wish it did but it didn't. The last time I teared up was with The Green Mile and before that it was Gladiator (I know it's in the wrong order but I saw them on dvd, unfortunately).

Re: HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

I have to say that I didn't actually cry during the movie, but I ALMOST did on several occasions and would have, had I not been watching it with friends.

Ones I can remember:

- Pretty much every scene where Alfred discusses how he wants a better future for Bruce and the funeral scene.

- The scene where Batman hints to Gordon who he really is and the following shot from BB in the police station.

- When Selina is pleading with Bruce to come with her and leave Gotham and its problems behind.

Re: HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

During my first screening, I started to get a sinking feeling in my heart when Alfred talked about how Bruce hadn't moved on and was emotionally frozen. Since TDK I had some personal losses in my life and have since felt the same way. Not being able to move on.

The first time I got a little emotional during the last few moments but my fear of what was going to happen prevented me from waterfalls from my eyes like I originally thought I was going to get.

The second viewing had much more of an impact on me with the ending....but yet again, I find myself wishing more of the story concentrated on Bruce's recovery and repair which makes the ending all much more greater. Less Blake, more Bruce.

I did start to cry during the pit escape, the music...the amazing test of will...the bats...it was certainly a moment.

Oh man, when those bats came out I lost it. That was just pure emotion.

All of these moments as well.

Wow going to see it again tonight, I think these scenes are gonna hit me even more now.

Re: HONEST Answers Only... Did You Cry? (SPOILERS)

I don't cry...ever. But, I almost did a few times (and during several viewings of the film, including my 4th viewing today, although it gets lesser the more times you see it thankfully) in several places.

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:

- The brief moment when Batman mentions about being comforted by Gordon (and the BB flashback)
- The reveal of Bruce's headstone didn't do it (I'd already read the ending, so it made for a lesser impact) but Alfred's emotions, dialogue and the visions of Martha and Thomas Wayne's headstone did it.
- Blake handing over his ID card and the lady reading his name
- The "children's home" plaque outside Wayne Manner.

Obviously these all happen within the ending montage and I theoretically could have felt the urge during that entire sequence, but these parts really got me.

yes, i cried several times in this movie, but i also cried during the bat breaking scene. watching batman get up after every taking every instance of serious heat from bane, with his mercs and catwoman watching in horror, pity, and despair, and (probably) fear.

Bane saving Talia didnt do it for you? And the way she lovingly fixed the mask like a mother? Their tearful goodbye is the stuff Oscars were INVENTED for.

No, didn't do it for me. It's hard for me to relate to people who are essentially terrorists no matter what their personal struggle was/is.

I felt pity for Bane, but it wasn't enough to make me cry. He was just such a bastard for what he did to Bruce and to all of the other innocent people who got in his way. Not to mention mass murder of a whole city in order to achieve his plan. But Hardy was amazing and did get to me just a little bit when he shed tears, I'll give him that.

I almost cried at the first Bruce and Alfred scene in the Batcave.

I almost burst out into tears at the end at the funeral.
