I'm not planning to get this, mainly because of Bendis and I don't care for what the plot sounds like, but apparently this is gonna be the flagship book for the X-Men for the time being, whether we like it or not, so here goes....

I'm not too keen on the plot, but having recently gotten back into comics and being a big fan of the X-Men I had initially been enthusiastic about being able to collect a series right from the very first issue. Still undecided whether I will follow it. I'm not sure why the plot puts me off as the synopsis in your post is pretty much exactly what I've read about it. Time travelling storylines/plots are hit-and-miss for me really.

I hope that this is just the plot of the initial arc and not the ENTIRE premise of the book

Everyone at Marvel keeps insisting that the original 5 are around for the long haul, and not a short term thing, which I really don't understand how it will be possible without making it seem tedious.

Really hoping this book is very character driven rather than the usually villains show up and we fight them. In fact what villains are left? After AvX we need time to collect and see what the x-men will do moving forward.

I think this series will have a lot of story potential with a different mutation of Beast, the quasi-return of Jean, a younger and optimistic Cyclops, etc.

The original 5 are going to freak out when they find out Magneto is a good guy.

Well they're minds will all have to be wiped on their return home unless Marvel really want to Frack with 40+ years of X continuity. Oh wit it's Marvel scrap that.

I've ordered my subscription for the first 6 issues from Mega City Comics, along with a Deadpool subscription. Probably going to subscribe to a couple of others - The Thunderbolts for sure - but the more I think about it, the more the concept here interests me. I'm usually put off by time travel due to how confusing it gets with 'alternate reality' children and whatnot, but at least that won't be the case here....

Something about Hank having an iPhone cracks me up. That and the expression on his face in the middle picture from the bottom panel.

The cover of #4 makes me want to read this series. I like the idea behind the book, but agree it has the potential to get really convoluted.

I gotta get this. I love time travel and the past X-Men seeing what's left of the current X-Men will be interesting. Cyclops V Cyclops, hell yeah! Maybe this is what's needed to bring Cyclops back as a ''good guy''.

Bendis plus timetravel is not a good mix. As brilliant as he is, I tend to get confused within the first 3 pages when he tries it.

His Ultimate Spider-Men was pretty good (and I never read Spiderman stories) I just hope he can bring the same quality to ANXM.
