Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

Now I Have seen people debate which characters should return, and which characters the film must focus on.

But what i think alot of us are forgetting that in the Alt future timeline the Majority of the X-Men should be dead, with only a few remaining. And for story telling purposes, some X-men will die in the film.

Now we can have a grave site scene that will show off the graves of Psylocke, Sunfire, Dazzler, Jubilee, Moonstar and some other character as a cool easter egg for the fans. but GA might not know who those characters are.

But if they see, Storm, Beast and Iceman on a tombstone they will know exactly who that is. It makes the film much more serious, if the characters that are dead or that die in some point in the film, are familiar faces...

With that being said, who should be dead or who should die in the alt future timeline in DOFP??

Edit: I forgot to add Magneto...

Re: Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

All of them except for the time traveler or Prof X( Depending on how they go about time travel). I left Kitty just cause she was used in the book and we have no facts on who the other time traveler could be yet. No one else is crucial to the (future) story as of now , so besides the traveler and whoever sends them there everyone else can be dead imo.

Id be cool with that but I have no interest in seeing a tombstone cameo for Psylocke, They have already killed that character literally and in terms of adaptation, no need to twist the knife if she was never shown as an X men.

Re: Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

there are two different questions on the poll, so its hard to know what fans want at all.

I mean, one thing is the characters that should be dead since the very beggining, aka the actors dont return...

and another thing the characters returning that should die.

so there should be two polls instead of just one with two questions, hehe

It would be the voters same answer either way. This movie has too many questions to begin with haha. Just uncheck who you want to stay alive in the Alt Future.

If you want an exciting and blockbuster movie must return the main characters in the trilogy.Halle Berry,Famke Janssen,Rebecca Romijn,Patrick Stewart,James Marsden,Ian Mackellen,Hugh Jackman & Anna Paquin must be in the film. The film will not be more interesting with all dead.It will be more boring with only FC characters. This film needs the original cast.

Re: Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

Theres a reason a majority of the X men die or are dead in the original story. The future has to have extreme consequences, otherwise it defeats the point. The Alt future will have its scenes and X Men, but its characters are not as pivotal as the ones trying to stop it from happening.

We do not know the plans of Bryan, maybe he wants the original actors are the protagonists.Definitely they are her actors.

Dead mutants = just the X-students. Wolverine, Storm, Angel, Colossus, Shadowcat and Iceman should be all alive. Jean Grey and Cyclops should stay dead for now.
Should die = Maybe Angel Salvadore and Riptide.

What about Rogue?

And how does Xavier fit into this, considering he died in X3 (but switched his mind into a braindead twin)?

Im not saying all of them must be dead, but certainly if a few familiar faces are dea, it adds gravitas to the situation. Especially if you have to watch Storm, Mystique, Wolverine and Magneto give there lives (example) sending Rogue (The Time Traveller) back in time to ensure that this future never happens.

LoL you loved the original trilogy didnt you... so who should die in action in the film? Im talking more about the alt future in DOFP. Some characters will be dead while others might die in action, so who have your picks would die in action?

If they have to move forward with an X4, the alt timeline in DOFP shouldnt affect them.

Re: Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

Hmmm.. Well if they don't use an alternate future, then Jean and Scott are dead and Xavier could well be kept dead rather than using that braindead twin nonsense!

Here's my thoughts (off the top of my head, while at work)

Storm, Wolverine, Kitty, Colossus, Angel, Nightcrawler, Magneto all appear in future but are gradually killed off (many of them after the time travel), making the time travel more desperate and necessary than ever.

Rogue is sent back in time, having absorbed the powers of some of the dying mutants. She is given a personal stake after seeing her boyfriend Iceman killed.

Already dead in the future - as seen on a huge field of hundreds/thousands of gravestones (camera pans out into the distance to show the huge death toll) - are Beast, Iceman, Banshee, Havok, Mystique, Pyro, Emma Frost, Gambit, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Multiple Man, and all of the Fantastic Four. (I'd love Kelsey's Beast back but somehow it's doubtful, and killing Iceman would save on special effects as well as give Rogue a reason to travel back in time)

Killed in the past are Riptide, Angel Salvadore.

Not sure about how I'd handle Bishop or Cable. If there is a time machine, then Forge could be included to invent it.

If love to see all the alive x-men dying one after another.

That would be the most dramatic x-men movie ever! And something NO OTHER studio has done ever. The impact on the audience would be shocking.

My vote for that!

I forgot to add Rogue, but she should be alive.

And the older Professor X is already in the cast but I don't know what will they do to him.

I think the characters should die in action are Banshee (like in the comics) and for the original trilogy, I really don't know. If they are gonna kill someone, it should be shown in the movie and it should a major effect in the movie and it should be emotional and an eye-opener moment. I don't want them to just mention some members of the X-Men died.

Re: Which X-Men Should die or be dead in DOFP?

Yeah, gotta show most them killed on screen. Its a hopeless scenario for the original trilogy members with death and imprisonment being pretty much guaranteed given what the films based on. No way around that. Its gonna be dark and violent. Depending on how they go about it, Im fine with a few off screen deaths. Surely they cant have everyone shown.

By the end of the flick non of the deaths will matter in the grand scheme of the franchise.

LoL i loved everything you said right here...

regarding Cable, I would actually love it if they made him the time traveller, it kind of puts the audience right there with the guy.

I Would basically have Cable as a freedom fighter of sorts along with his X-Force, who are all dead. He seeks out the X-Men to join them in the battle. He only finds Wolverine, Iceman and Storm, along with random young mutants that they saved. The rest of the X-Men are either captured or dead.

Cable, Wolverine, IceMan and Storm then set out to free the rest of the X-Men, a huge battle then ensues, with Cyclops, Colossus, Rogue, Franklin Richards and Magneto escaping, and the rest dying in this escape.

Cyclops leads the team to a warehouse, where its revealed Prof X, Beast and Bishop have been working on a Time Machine.

unbeknownst to Magneto he was implanted with a chip, and this is how the Sentinels find this hideout. Everybody goes out fighting, but Prof X calls back Cable tells him he has to go back, he has stop this, tells him that world would be different, tells him to kill Magneto.

So when he arrives in the 60's, even though Prof X is in a wheelchair because of Magneto, he still believes in his friend, his not at that point that he feels Erik is pure evil. So where Prof X and His X-Men intend to stop the Brotherhood, Cable seeks to kill them... end it all once and for all.

The Only reason why i would mention X-Force and have that little role for Bishop, is too extend the franchise. If they introduce the idea of X-Force and Cable now as well as Bishop, it makes it so much easier to market these characters after they have already been introduced in DOFP. And Cable is a character that would become a hit with audiences so if they have to GreenLight Cable and his X-Force, im pretty sure People would be eager to see the character that played such a big part in DOFP, and was so awesome! And See what his band of mutts would be like!

There's no way they can bring back loads of the original trilogy actors and show all the deaths that occur. Some will already have to be dead.

Earlier, I said I wanted to see thousands of tombstones with us seeing the names of Beast, Iceman, Banshee, Havok, Mystique, Pyro, Emma Frost, Gambit, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Multiple Man, and all of the Fantastic Four. I think that's a pretty good choice, to be honest, though they may want to show Iceman's death if it's an additional motivating factor for Rogue to travel back in time.

And if the 60s versions of Havok, Banshee, Beast, Mystique and Emma knew their future selves had been obliterated, that would provide additional drama.
The other names I mentioned above were the major secondary characters from the other films, plus a nod to the Fantastic Four.

This is sounding more and more like a trilogy of its own rather than one 2hr film!

I like the addition of Cable. Not sure there would be scope for his X-Force, as that would be four teams in one movie: future X-Men (+Magneto), past X-Men, past Brotherhood, future X-Force.

Also not sure of including Cyclops (unless this is an alternate future not a future after X3) or Franklin Richards (yes he's part of the comic but the F4 reboot hasn't arrived on screen yet so he's a bit meaningless at this point).

Wolverine just because the less I see of him the better and well he is hard to kill so killing him makes a statement. But I know it wont happen.

Wolverine' a must I reckon. You can't miss that iconic death.

Magneto would be powerful too. Especially with Charles there and what a great send off for Ian McKellan.

They would just resurrect him in his third solo movie. :o And this is why I'm against with character deaths for major characters because FOX would just resurrect them.

Yeah that's why I said just mention the X-Force, kinda like how that Christian Bale Terminator film started with him on his own and his entire team dead. Just a passin reference, so that atleast if they do make Cable and the X-Force film, it has that clear connection to X-Men.

Lol I think Franklin in DOFP will be awesome... I think that reference will be fitting to build the connected universe. Especially if the reboot, introduces Valeria and Franklin, instead of giving us another origin story. I really don't want another origin story!

I wonder how many deaths Bryan will show during the scenes on the future.

If he is really going for the most intense and dramatic sequel, he could show both Wolverine, Storm, Collosus and Magneto dying on that future, with the traveler as the only survivor.

If he ends showing more than two deaths, the audience will leave the theatre in SHOCK, Lol

Im all for it
